The full moon floated gently across the grassy fields on this cool, cloudless night. But the moon wasn't important tonight, what was important was the grey figure bounding across the plains. The grey figure moved smoothly, as if it was a ghost. Ray had since grow accostumed to his new form and abilities, but the boundless amounts of energy he had now was a little frustrating. He could run all night and not fatigue, but sight was a plus and more than made up for it. Rays path lead to Jarikar City, a place that he had yet to visit despite his time here. "Jarikar is the capital of this place." Ray said to nobody in particular "I wonder what I can find in a place like that..." Rays long bounds tightened into a sprint as his running stance lowered. He was finally on the road to Jarikar City!

There was little sound on this clear night; indeed, most Pokemon had by now settled themselves to escape the reality of their day-to-day lives for a while into the realm of dreams. Occasionally a Murkrow might glide overhead, or the swaying dance of an Oddish could be seen as they rose themselves from the earth to feed on the silver light of the moon, but these smooth and natural rhythms of life were as much a part of the night as the stars.
As Ray ran on and on, grass whispering in his wake, though, a light could be seen apart from the moon. It glowed on the horizon, but was far too faint to be the sun, and besides, morning was a ways off. Even Ray's vision, different from that of any other, could see the glow. Unlike others, though, he could see that apart from the light there were other things, jumping around too fast to make out clearly, but living things all the same. The beat of music met Ray's ears; fast-paced but ethereal in a strange way...

As Ray sprinted; the glowing mass of light caught his attention as he focused his 'sight' on it he coud see blurs jumping about "What the..." he mumbled to himself. He knew that Jarikar was still a ways away so it couldn't be that. Rays curiosity took ahold of him as he changed direction and made a beeline to the light "I hope this doesn't turn out to be a bad idea!"

(( Just so you know, I'll be gone for the next week; if you want a response, try asking one of the other mods, but I should be able to get back to this thread when I'm back. ))
As Ray drew nearer, the blurs became clearer shapes. Namely, Clefairy hopping around a large, flickering fire, seemingly dancing. Not unusual behavior, for Clefairy tend to appear on clear nights when the full moon shines down and lights up the world below. They were singing some kind of song, to the ethereal music; a few of the dancing Clefairy were playing flutes or other assorted instruments.
The scene was rather normal for a full moon night, except that in front of the fire sat an Umbreon. He had hung his head with his ears straight up and his eyes were closed, as if in concentration. Ray's extraordinary sight gift also showed him that an unusual amount of aura was being focused at the Umbreon's ring-like markings. To any other Pokemon, the Umbreon would have appeared as normal, but the Umbreon practically glowed with the focus of power.
None of the Clefairy seemed to notice Ray, and it was probably better that they hadn't, for every Pokemon in the dimension knew to fear Riolu, and Lucario even more so. They seemed to be involved in something even more important than a mere midnight dance.

As Ray drew closer, the shapes grew clearer. "Just some Clefairy..." he said quietly. It seemed as though they were having a festival. But Rays attention was quickly drawn to the Umbreon standing infront of the fire, it was practically overflowing with an intense aura. Ray started taking a few steps toawrd the group but stopped imedieatly, remembering that Riolu and Lucario made up the Guard in this world and were feared because of it. Slighty disheartened by this, Ray simply found a quiet spot away from the fire, adjusted his bright red headband and sat down to watch the Clefairy dance.

For a while longer, the Clefairy jumped around in their strange celebration, while the music drifted through the night across the dark field, and the Umbreon was still and silent. Suddenly, though, the Umbreon raised his head, and the Clefairy stopped where they were, arranged in a haphazard circle around him and the fire in the middle of the space. The music halted, and only the crackle of fire could be heard as the Umbreon rose to his feet and turned his head up to look at the full moon.
"I have seen what is to come in the space between light and dark, when the moon illuminates a blackened world and makes clear many things. In a place where many Pokemon gather, there will be an uprising against the forces that restrain the freedom of the untamed spirit. There will also be one who steals among them and learns the ultimate secret of our world..." The Umbreon paused, seemingly mystified even by his own words, as the detached look that had been in his eyes faded, as did the intense aura around his markings.
The Clefairy were still, for the most part, though a few fidgeted and most looked troubled by what the Umbreon had foretold. Finally, one spoke up. "But what can we do?" It was clearly the question that had been on all of their minds; there was some nervous muttering among them, and many were nodding as if they, too, had been about to ask the question.
"I do not know..." Replied the Umbreon, whose head lowered again in thought. "But if we are to be free, perhaps we shall fight. More may come of what is about to happen than any of us may have imagined." He stared into the fire pensively, as if hoping to see more there. The Clefairy were talking more loudly now, discussing what they had just heard. Nobody had yet noticed Ray.

Ray listened to the Umbreons prophecy from afar taking in each word that was said. An uprising where many pokemon gather. "Is someone gonna stand against the Guard?" he mused. The clefairy's chatter peaked Rays intrest, maybe if he stuck around he'd get some more info about what may be happening soon, but he needed to get a little closer.
Ray got up and took a deep breath and stood up. He slowly began moving a closer, stepping lightly, creeping closer and closer to the crowd.

The Clefairy, so occupied with the prophecy (and being silly, frivolous, easily distractable things), did not notice Ray as he crept closer. Though, with Ray being so small and the night being so dark, he was difficult to see anyways, a shadow cast by the flickering firelight. What the Clefairy were saying was of little significance; they knew just as little as Ray about what was going on. Indeed, all of this seemed to have come as much of a shock to them, most likely more so than it did to Ray because they had always lived in this world.
The Umbreon had been looking back up at the moon, granting his eyes a strange glow, though the look in them was not the detached stare that there had been when the Umbreon was speaking the strange words of his prophecy. Rather, their gaze was searching, as if he could see more in the full moon's luminescence. Suddenly, though, his head turned sharply to where Ray was standing.
"I know you are there. Come out." His voice was neither fearful nor accusatory. In fact, it seemed kindly.

Busted. The Umbreon noticed him, but Ray should've expected no less from someone who had just proven himself to be a prophet. Though the Umbreons invitation was warm and welcoming, Ray hesitated and stayed in the shadows. He knew that once he showed himself to be a Riolu, the Clefairy and Umbreon wouldn't be so warm. "What you just said...about the uprising. Is it true?" He said cautiously as he moved forward, but tried to remain hidden.

The Clefairy were somewhat surprised now that they noticed Ray. Most of them were looking at him suspiciously, and some were whispering to each other nervously. They seemed to be a more timid lot, if they were treating him like this without even knowing he was a Riolu.
The Umbreon looked thoughtful at Ray's question. "The moon looks down upon all things, and some of us see clearly what is to come when it's full... however, there is no such thing as destiny, or as fate. As such, no future is set in stone... but these grievances among the Pokemon will be hard to dispel. Perhaps delay, but their plans are coming like the tide, it seems... and I have seen no Pokemon who could stop the tide except the lord of the sea herself, Kyogre. But here, no Pokemon is master over the hearts of others." He looked right at Ray as he spoke. It was impossible to tell whether or not the Umbreon could see him despite his attempts to hide himself. The Umbreon himself could, in fact, see that Ray was a Riolu, but he had seen so much in his experiences and in the round eye of the full moon that little was a surprise to him any more, and he could sense that this Riolu was not tainted with false ideals like most of the others that roamed about the world and brought the hatred that their superiors commanded be dealt.

Ray took a deep breath...and stepped into the light, revealing himself to everyone. "I want to help. These Lucario are a disgrace and the oppression and monarchy needs to stop." Ray looked around, he could feel the aura of everyone around him. He began to question himself, was it a good idea to reveal himself? If worse came to worse, he DID have the type advantage on all of them. He hoped that it wouldn't come to that...

(( Sorry about the late reply, I was in Alaska on a cruise. ))
Most, if not all, of the Clefairy gasped as they saw that the speaker in the bushes was a member of one of the most feared species of Pokemon in the dimension. Silence fell on the group, but the expression on the Umbreon's face remained calm and kindly.
"Then you are welcome," he said, bowing his head in Ray's direction, then turned to the Clefairy. "Do not fear him, children. We are not here to judge one based on mere appearance." They continued to shoot nervous glances at each other and at Ray, but none questioned the Umbreon.
He turned back to Ray. "My name is Altus. I do what I can to aid in the work of fighting the powers that keep us oppressed. If you want to help, the first step is to make our way to Jarikar... there is a group there who can tell you more. But you will have to be sure that you want to help in the attempts to fight the Dimensional Guard and their fearsome leader."

The Clefairy's reaction was about on par with what Ray had expected. The the Umbreon surprised him; he acted as if he knew what Ray was the whole time. "It's an honor to meet you, Atlus." he said "My name is Ray. I haven't been here long, but the oppression the Guard is causing sickens me! I want to help put a stop to it, and bring peace to this world." he continued.
Ray smiled as Atlus spoke, "That's great. I was heading to Jarikar anyways! How can I find this group?"

Altus laughed a little at Ray's words. "Good, good, not many are quite as willing to stand up to the Dimensional Guard." He wondered what the Riolu meant by saying that he hadn't been here long, but decided not to probe further. "Well, if you wish to find them, I can help you there. I myself am curious to see how these events unfold, so I think I'll go to Jarikar myself. Besides, I haven't been there in a while." He looked around at the Clefairy. "Children, you may come with us, or stay. I don't know that it shall be safe, but I won't stop you."
They looked at each other hesitantly. Clefairy are very frivolous things, but aren't much when it comes to work and danger, and none of them stepped forward to join them. Altus chuckled to himself - he wasn't surprised - and turned to Ray. "If you're not tired, we can go now and make it to Jarikar by morning, or we can rest here and go later."

Ray looked at the Clefairy as Atlus spoke to them. He knew that Clefairy were more the type to run than jump into danger and they did exactly what was expected. He turned to Atlus and said "I'm glad to have someone come along, I've actually never been to Jarikar before so I wouldn't know the first place to look for anything." as he scratched the back of his head with a bashful smile.
The Riolu turned back to the Clefairy, his grey eyes staring unfocusedly in that general area. He could feel the fear and nervousness in each and everyone of thier auras. "I'm ready to leave now if you are, Atlus." he stated before giving the Clefairy a warm smile and saying "I'm sorry if I scared you. Maybe next time I see you guys, you'll be on better terms with my kind!"

The Clefairy shuffled around, uncertain what to do now that their leader was leaving. Altus himself, now on his paws, looked at Ray. "Alright then. The path is long, but we should be able to get there in go--" He was cut off by a loud wail, close by, and a frantic scurrying sound. "H-help!" The voice was louder as its source came closer, most likely drawn by the fire in his search for help. Finally, it emerged in the clearing. It was a Meowth, clearly not very well off. It was doubled over, panting, with numerous cuts and bruises all over its body. The flickering firelight gave its face a dark shadow as it turned it up to address the Pokemon. "O... Over the hill, there's a... ugh... help..." And with that, it collapsed.
It was silent in the clearing after that, except for the crackle of the flames. The Clefairy were clearly wondering why they had even come out for a celebration tonight; after their festivities, things had been going downhill at a pretty rapid pace. Altus was shock, as his expression revealed, but quickly gathered himself. "Be ready. We don't know what we're going up against..." His ears twitched and he swung his head back towards the grass, where a Pokemon was approaching.
A Fraxure stepped out of the grass, sneering around at the gathered Pokemon. "Well well well, what have we here?" He cracked his knuckles, and Altus stepped forwards. "Leave now, or there will be trouble." The Fraxure's malicious grin widened. "That there will..." He sounded cocky, sure of himself. "Not mine, though. I don't see why I should go."[/color] He walked further into the clearing, towards the fallen Meowth.

The cry for help startled Ray and the Meowth's battered appearance and ominous warning sent a foreboding chill down his spine. "Wh-what the-" he stuttered, momentarily loosing his nerve. Thankfully Atluses words brought him back to his sences.
"Okay...okay." he said while taking a deep breaths. Ray slowly lifted his paw and felt out the auras of the area around him. He could see the Clefairy's, the injured Meowth, Atlus but the the mysterious assailent was out of the field of his Auras vision.
Ray moved closer to the Meowth when he heard the pokemon speak, allowing his arua to quickly detect the it's location. It was a Fraxure "Hey, you leave that Meowth alone!" he suddenly blurted out.
