The sensation of dirt was against Herbrandt's face.
This was not a sensation he was unused to. After all, many times when you got beat up enough it was either assuming this position, assuming it but with your face up, or giving in which rarely happened.
After all, what kind of reputation does a mighty champion take when he gives in?
"...but the dirt feels nice..." Herbrandt muttered to himself. He decided to take another minute or so to just lie here, face down in the dirt wondering why he had a massive headache, why he didn't at all feel normal, and why he was lying face down in the dirt to begin with.
"So, let me go over this to myself again. There's a massive glowing portal. It says there'll be a new world for me to fight through. I jump through it and the next thing I know I'm face down in the dirt, and with a huge headache. Plus, my hands feel weird...and so does my everything else. Hmmm...even this might take a while for me to get used to."
Herbrandt smiled, even though it felt funny, face down in the dirt. "Still, I've gone through worse. This'll be a cinch in comparison. OK, the first journey begins with the first step, or some such cliche, so let's get to it!"
Herbrandt proceeded to jump up and then immediately wish he hadn't, staggering about with his hand to his head...which felt different than usual. "Did I get a massive bump or something...?"
He looked at his right hand. The love-heart seemed to be directly on his skin. "Did I get a tattoo...?"
Shortly thereafter he realised his hand was lacking fingers. Then he realised it was purple. All over. "...this may not be good." Strangely, it didn't hurt...it just felt weird. And minus two fingers. "Yeah...this is going to take some getting used to. I think I might just stay here, swagger for a few seconds, and see if anything fixes itself."
Herbrandt proceeded to do that before passing out again. "This...is not a good start." was the last thought that went through his mind before he blacked out.

Bryan was on his way to Tyric Town, and taking in the scenery while doing so. He couldn't help but have so many questions on his mind. Like, Would he be able to find a pokemon who could help him figure out how he got to this strange place? What was Tyric Town like- was it big or small? Was Bryan the only Human turned pokemon? or were there others? Maybe he might meet people he knew, maybe even his family or his friends from the Pokemon Rangers Academy. He thinking about these and more when he saw what he thought was a child passed out. Running over to it he turned the figure over, only to realize that it wasn't a child, but in fact a another pokemon. Bryan looked it over making sure that it wasn't injured. "Are you okay little guy?" Bryan said in a soothing tone, knowing Tyrogue had a habit of seeking out fights. It wasn't until he had looked the pokemon over that he noticed the star and heart shaped symbols on it's fists, "How odd....." Bryan said, then jumped as the pokemon suddenly gained consciousness.

"Uugggghhhh..." Herbrandt was again starting to feel coherent, and at least his face was up this time, which was a nice bonus.
There was a voice somewhere. "...huh...? Whuzzat...?" Currently, it was too blurry for Herbrandt to get the hang of, but he shook his head a bit and tried to get his head into focus. He was looking up at something...what was it?
It looked kinda like...what were those things called? Oh yeah, a Cubone. Heh, cute, there was a Cubone looking at him and - wait, had it just spoken?!
"Uh...pardon my ignorance, lil' Cubone, but did you just happen to speak?" Herbrandt wasn't really thinking completely clearly when he asked, but it still seemed like a valid question. "This day is getting weirder by the second...first I lose two fingers and now I can understand Pokemon. What's next...?"
Herbrandt decided to attempt to stand up again - slowly, this time. Hopefully he'd be able to understand things better in a little while.

Bryan stepped back from the Tyrogue and gave a bit of a chuckle, "So how did you end up like this?" He asked, though he had a sneaking suspicion what had happened to this Tyrogue. Bryan reached into the pouch that was slung over his shoulder- the one that he had just made from grass and a few loose twigs to help him carry his bone club and some other items. He set the apple down and looked at the Tyrogue again, mostly out of personal fascination, for this was a pokemon that was quite rare to the Former Pokemon Ranger, he had only seen it two or three times before.
Bryan continued to look over the pokemon for a few moments, and gave him time to come to full consciousness before he said what he could sense what the pokemon was wondering, "My name is Bryan, and i am a newcomer to this . . . . place. Where you are right now, well I’m not entirely sure as i myself just showed up here today...not too long ago. And now i am headed to a place called Tyric Town in hopes of finding someone who can help me get home as well."

Herbrandt shook his head trying to get his headache to subside. "Alright, so you are a Cubone, and you are speaking. This isn't the weirdest day of my life by a long shot..."
Fortunately, by this point he was starting to realsie that people wanted to talk to him and it was kinda rude to ignore that. "Uh...last I recall was something about a portal, wanting to take over the world and then ending up with a massive headache, face down in the dirt and with a much more weirdly shaped hand. Oooh, apple!" Herbrandt suddenly realised there was an apple on the ground and proceeded to start chomping at it. It felt good - in fact, it felt incredibly good! It didn't help much with his headache, but at least he felt like he'd be able to stand up properly now.
"Anyways, my name's Herbrandt. Herbrandt Corliss, Jr. You might know me as the legendary Starfist, but...taking into account you are a talking Cubone...probably not. The fact that you don't know where we are...well, that doesn't really help matters much but I know it's in a world where I can understand Pokemon despite being a somewhat deformed human. Hopefully I'll feel better once I have someone to fight..." Herbrandt danced on his feet a bit - strange, despite how weird he felt at least he was still OK with moving, so it didn't seem like he'd broken anything. That was a plus, he'd still be able to fight.
"Haha!" Herbrandt was rather happy at the fact that he could still move - his movements didn't feel as fluid as usual, but he could still move. "Man, thanks for the apple, that feels a bit better. Now, as to going somewhere I have absolutely NO idea what you're talking about, but what does it matter, hopefully there'll be something for me to beat up on the way there! I could use a good fight!" Herbrandt punched the air in front of him, testing whether or not his speed was up to scratch - it wasn't, but it would have to do. "So...Tyric Town. I have no idea what that is, but at least you seem to have some clue."

Bryan listened to what the Tyrogue had to say, "Well it seems I'm not the only Human turned Pokemon, although i don't remember a portal, That is not that i can't remember a whol- Woah!" Bryan said, the latter part in response to Herb thrusting his fist at the Cubone, instinctively Bryan grabbed his Club and threw off and deflected Tyrogue's punch in the same movement. Bryan then took a leap backwards putting distance between him and Starfist.
Then carefully looking Herb over, he thought to himself, 'Let's see, this guy is twice my height and probably a great deal heavier. Fotunately neither of us has any type advantage over the other.....,' Of course, Herb probably wasn't directing that punch at Bryan, necessarily, but all Bryan knew was the one second he blinked and the next, there was a fist in his face, so he only did what came to him instinctively.
After he had sized up the stranger, Bryan then took a moment to consider what moves Cubone knew. Bryan then lowered his head and held out his bone club in front of him. He leaped at Tyrogue, using Headbutt attack, and then followed it up using his Bone Club to push Tyrogue away, keeping the distance between him and his new opponent.

"Well, whatever the case is, I think a good fight'll be in order so-OOF!"
Caught by complete surprise, Herbrandt took the Headbutt straight in the face and comically smashed into the ground, and flopped backward before stopping face-up in the dirt. Again.
He twitched a bit, and then flipped back up. "The heck was that for...?!" Herb looked completely confused for a second...then grinned. "Hey, you do want a punch-up? Why didn't you just say so? I need the exercise...and it's a good start to proving who's the best around here!"
Herbrandt put a fist to the ground, and with a cry of "ORAAAAA!", charged straight towards Bryan in a Tackle attack as fast as he possibly could.

Bryan watched his opponent lunge at him, then at the last possible moment he could, he swung his Bone Club with all his might at Starfist, hoping to both him and deflect his oncoming attack at the same time. It worked somewhat, but it seemed that there was truth to the fact that Herb was a fighter because he was still able to hit Bryan with considerable force, knocking him a little bit off guard.

It was a strange feeling, perhaps Herb wasn't as fast as he thought? Granted, he managed to get through part of the Bone Club - instead of smashing him in the face it just hit his shoulder, which still rather hurt. Seemed like he'd knocked the kid off guard, which was all the time he needed - you learnt quickly as a brawler to take whatever advantage was given to you.
Without a second to delay, Herbrandt dove back into the fray, even as nasty as that Bone Club looked, and moved in, planning to smash a right hook punch into the Cubone's armored face. If he could stun the Cubone, this fight would be over - or so he thought, anyway.

As Bryan felt Herb's punch his his skull, he felt it strike him much harder than he was expecting. It was as if his Skull was part of his head and had it's own set of nerve endings, albeit not very sensitive, but Bryan could still feel things to some degree. He shook off the blow the best he could, and followed it with a Leer attack. Bryan hoped that he could at least get Starfist off his guard and leave him vulnerable to more blows. Bryan stared at Herb with all the focus that he could, and in what seemed like no time, his eyes started to glow bright red, and bryan waited to see what effect it would have on his opponent.

Herbrandt just stood back for a second. Bryan was just staring at him? What kind of joke was this? There had been far scarier people staring at him than this tiny kid and none of them had even fazed the mighty Starfist.
...that was what he was thinking right up until the Cubone's eyes turned red and it felt like he was staring right through to his mind - Herbrandt shivered - how was he doing that? Herb couldn't help but feel weaker, but he tried to shake it off - he needed a way to stop the Cubone from doing that creepy leer...
In a flash, the Tyrogue sped up, and rushed for the Cubone, attempting a Fake Out attack while the Cubone was too busy...staring creepily.

Bryan was staring at Herb with his Leer attack, which he could tell was working from the red light reflecting from the insides of his skull. He was watching His opponent as intently as he was staring at him, seeing what effect his attack was having. Bryan started to grin as he could see Starfist flinching, then suddenly, the Tyrogue had leaped at Bryan and slapped him in the face. It happened so quickly and unexpectedly that Bryan was in shock, and was left completely open for another attack.
