Stats: STATS<==STATS ARE HERE GUYS Day 1, 0:00 Blahsadfeguie: A young man sits alone in his cold sleep pod. Recently removed from suspension for some reason, you can't see a thing! It's so ridiculously dark in this pod, seriously! You don't remember how you got here, but you have a right mind to give a good kick in the teeth to whoever designed this high-tech device for forgetting to put a light source inside. From flailing around a bit, you manage to figure out how to crawl out, head-first. Standing up is a bit of a chore, given you aren't sure how long it's been since you last moved your limbs, but you manage eventually. You take inventory of your surroundings: You appear to be in a room filled with these cryo-pods. You aren't sure how many of them are occupied, but there are at least 50 in this room alone. There is a door at the north and south ends of the room. Don't ask how you know which way is north. You decided just now that way is north and you know you; Once you get an idea in your head there's no use trying to change your mind about the whole thing, so I'm not going to bother arguing with you about it, and you'd best keep to yourself about it too because you can be quite a pain about these things. There IS a source of light above you, but it seems to be very dim. Light enough for you to get a general idea of the shape of the room, but dark enough that you're bound to stub your toe on something heavy that's been left on the ground. You wonder why that is: Why bother putting a light anywhere if it's going to be so very dim? That hardly seems worthwhile at all. What's that? You weren't thinking that at all? Well you apparently were because that's what I just wrote that you thought, so you must have thought that. That's just the way this works and if you're going to fight about it we're going to have a very hard time so you may as well just focus on the things you CAN control, like what to do next, and forget about the things you CAN'T control, like the thoughts running through your head. Speaking of which, what DO you want to do next?

>Search the room more closely, maybe there's a switch somewhere that turns on a brighter light or makes the dim light brighter or otherwise somehow makes light of the situation.

Day 1, 0:00
Blah: You spend a few minutes searching the room. Feeling along the walls to see if you can't find a light switch. After a few uneventful minutes of searching, you find one and excitedly press it! Unfortunately all this does is turn off the light entirely. Pressing it again turns it back on, but still at the same dim level it was before. You press it a few times just to make sure. Yep. This is as bright as the light is gonna get, it seems.
You don't find anything else of interest either, but you might have missed something. In fact, you don't feel very confident that you've seen very much of this room at all.

Day 1: 0:03
You continue searching the room. It doesn't take you very long to find something: A canteen! It looks like it can hold about 1 unit of water, which this one conveniently already has inside it! How much is a unit? Well it just happens to be exactly enough to raise your hydration stat to full! It also happens to be the smallest amount you can viably interact with! How convenient!
Apparently this canteen, when full, requires 2 encumberance points to carry, so you decide to leave it on the ground, not wanting to make such a commitment right now.
As for the other chambers, you take a look inside each one. It's awfully hard to tell, but you're pretty sure 15 of them contain people still in cold sleep. You tried to pull one open, but it seemed to be locked. Each one has what appears to be some kind of card scanner on the front of it, as well as a number pad and a small screen. You aren't sure if this means you could open them with a key card, a numerical code, or if you'd need both, but as of right now you don't seem to have any of those, so you resign not to fiddle with it too much... that is, unless you suddenly decide to waste your time on it later. But that number code could be anything. It'd hardly be worth trying, right? Probably.

>Casually try the code "8947" just for the heck of it on one of the occupied pods.
>When that doesn't work, jump up and down in frustration open the door to the north and check out where it leads.

Day 1, 0:13
You dial in those EXACT digits into the nearest occupied pod. As predicted it didn't work. You knew it wouldn't. I mean, I guess it could have, but you knew as well as you know anything right now that was so unlikely it wasn't even worth trying. Yet here we are. Congratulations. You just wasted both of our time. Does it make you feel powerful? Is that why you did it? Go on. Tell me. I really want to know.
Nevermind, we've already wasted enough time. Let's just get to the door already.
You go up to the door. At least you've assumed it's a door up to this point. It's really just a large metal plate in the wall, but it's shaped like a door. Certainly has the right dimensions. But it has no knob. No handle. While trying to figure out how to open it you place your hand on it and something in the walls seems to activate, opening the door... very slowly.
In fact it's opening so slowly that it takes a whole 2 minutes for you to finally get through the door. It feels like it's almost wasting your time on purpose. (So much that it reminds me of you, mister time waster. I mean really, what did you think was going to happen?)
On the other side of the door appears to be some kind of hallway. There's a door to your left and right, but there doesn't seem to be any wall in front of you for a ways. As in the room before, there's not enough light to see much else without trying to get a closer look.

>Open the first door to the left in the newly-discovered hallway.

Day 1, 0:15
Blah: You rush back through the door to grab the canteen. You can't BELIEVE you almost forgot this item. But just as you bend down to pick it up, you notice something. The door! It's starting to close again! You rush back to the door, making it through with only a single full minute to spare before you would have had to wait for the door to open again. What a rush of adrenaline.
Of course, to celebrate, you decide to open another door. Waiting another couple minutes for it to open enough for you to slip through.
On the other side of the door, there are several cabinets lining the walls on either side, as well as what appears to be an examination table. This appears to be some kind of doctors exam room, but from the looks of these cabinets, it's probably a bit better equipped. Still not enough light to make out much of anything, but there is a door on the other side of the room.

>Search the cabinets and table, see if there's anything that might be worth coming back to later. Or anything that'd be useful now. If it's there, I want to know about it! Spend 5 minutes on this endeavor.

Blah: You search the table and some of the cabinets. You find several boxes. Some of them are empty, and it's hard to read the ones that aren't. Even when you can read them, you have no idea what any of the pills or injections you've found do. They either treat some exotic disease you've never heard of, or they don't list what they do at all. You can't find any recognizable pain-killers, anti-biotics, or even anything that sounds familiar. And there are enough boxes here, it's hardly worth remembering any given name. As it turns out, 5 minutes just isn't enough time to sort through everything. Your search has turned up nothing worth knowing.
But you can't shake the feeling that you'll end up needing SOMETHING in this room at some point. You just have no idea what you're looking for, aside from maybe some of the basics. But you can't find any of those here either.

>I'd rather focus more on exploration for now, get a grasp on the layout of this strange facility and maybe find out what it is and how I got here. So, head back out into the hall and use the door to the east.

Blah: You head back out the way you came and walk straight through the east door, taking a couple minutes of pause at each one while the doors opened. After stepping through the second door, you hear something behind you. A growl of sorts. Just as the door closes, you catch a glimpse of what seems to be a wolf. It looked as though it hadn't eaten in a while, and it seemed to be trying to catch you before you entered the door. Luckily, it didn't make it through, but it will certainly be waiting for you to come out for some time. You'd best make sure you're prepared to take it on if you plan on going back into that hallway anytime soon.
Taking a look around, you see another door on the opposite side of the room. The room itself is filled with counter-tops, ovens, stoves, sinks, as well as a hardwood table in the center. If you had to guess, this room was probably a kitchen. Probably as good a place as any to find something to arm yourself, if you wanted to take on that wolf, or maybe camp out for a while and just wait for it to go away. There's probably enough food and water here to last you a while if you look for it.

>Search the kitchen for anything that can be weaponized, and perhaps a quick inventory of the available consumables couldn't hurt. As long as the wolf doesn't figure out how to open that door in a fit of hungry desperation, I'll have all the time I need, so... 20 minutes.

Blah: You search the kitchen for 20 minutes. It takes you a while, but before long you find yourself a paring knife! It certainly isn't built for combat, but when on your person in battle, it provides a +2 attack bonus, and it's pretty light. Only 1 encumberance to carry. Though it takes up one of your hands. Of which you only have 2. Who knows. Maybe you'll find a third hand somewhere!*
Anyway, you leave it on the ground for now. You can always pick it up before you leave the room.
*No you won't.

Blah:
You pick up the knife and you head back toward the hallway. The wolf is, of course, fully aware that you are coming back as soon as he hears the door open. By the time the door is open enough for both of you to get through, both of you are equally prepared to strike.
