Tyler had barely managed to drag Deb a foot forward when another Machop came toward him and Deborah, the empty stretcher still with him. He bit back an angry remark about the Machop's tone and command, but he knew that this Machop was medical staff, and only had Deb's well-being in mind. Besides, he had to admit...dragging her through the dirt like this couldn't have been all that much better than just leaving her there to get help.
"Fine...." he muttered, slipipng himself out of Deb's 'grip.' "But you didn't have to yell at me. I HAPPEN to be, like, her BEST pal in the whole world ya know!"
~~~~~
The Empoleon was prepared. Although, he knew that he would have to be quick if he wanted to get his move out in the open to render one of his opponent's most powerful assets null and void. Well, perhaps that was a bit of an exaggeration. But the repercussions of exposing such a possible weakness to such a powerful technique to the entire stadium would definitely be a sight to see. And so, he readied himself, prepared to launch his move the very moment the bell went off.
Finally, the loud sound of the bell rang out across the stadium, and Ansgar brought his fins forward and stabbed them straight into the mucky ground. As he did so, stones all around the battlefield rattled and raised themselves from the muck strewn all across the ground. His Stealth Rock move was now in place. Now, if anything new appeared in the arena, the rocks would attempt to smash into the newly appeared target. This should easily render most newly summoned clones rather useless. Although it would be possible for the Clones to evade the stones...it was far less likely that Vito could use even HALF the clones that were originally made.
Unfortunately, he was most likely slower than Vito, due to their species difference. Weavile were naturally some of the fastest Pokemon in the entire dimension. Since his Stealth Rock didn't target anything that was already on the battlefield, any Clones that Vito could summon before his Stealth Rock move was used would be unharmed. But that was fine...he was sure he could handle that.
"Well, best pal, if you haul her around like that you're more liable to injure her again. Nothing the First Aid tent couldn't handle, of course, but I'd think we'd all rather avoid it all the same." the Machop offered a smile as he and the other Machop rolled Deb onto the stretcher. "But if you are her friend, like you say, I'm sure no-one will mind if you accompany her to the tent." the other Machop suggested as the two of them each took an end and lifted the Blaziken with hardly any effort, starting off after the other Machop carrying Jaer.
----------
Vito reacted to the bell, quickly summoning a handful of clones to the field using his Double Clone technique, by now well known among those paying attention to the tournament. Half of them rushed toward the Empoleon, the two leading the pack using Spite in an attempt to start wearing the Empoleon down as quickly as possible. The rest stayed close to Vito, picking up bales of hay and hauling them closer, using them to create sturdier barriers that would be easier to duck behind in case of ranged attack.
What Vito hadn't counted on was the Stealth Rock attack. That was certainly going to make it more difficult to summon new clones. He would have to use the ones he had much more efficiently than he had planned. Vito was sure he could get more clones if he needed them, but it was going to take some effort.
Tyler knew that there was nothing he could really say in response. The Machop were most likely completely right, after all. And it wasn't like he knew anything about anything related to medicine. And so, he grinned a bit when the Machop suggested that he go with them. Not that he had ever thought of NOT going with them.... Whether he had been allowed to or not, he'd have been with Deb the whole time. After all, he didn't spend so long looking for her to just lose her again.
"Yeah, I guess. I'll just have to come with ya then," Tai replied, putting his paws behind his head. He then followed behind the two medics, toward the medical tent.
~~~~~
Just as he predicted, Vito was out of the gate with a Double Clone move, well before his Stealth Rock took effect. No matter. He had only created a dozen. That would be a simple obstacle. He knew how he wanted this battle to go, and how he wanted it to resolve. This was sure to become an interesting match indeed....
However, he knew that if he did nothing, he would fall victim to the same Spite attack that had ended up doing in Marduk, another respectable, skillful fighter. So, in order to preserve his strength and endurance, he would need to be as efficient as possible. Dealing as much damage with as little amount of energy loss as possible. And of course, he had to avoid these Spite attacks as much as possible.
And so, he decided to start by jumping back, away from the two Vito clones that were already launching a Spite attack in his direction, evading the attacks. He landed beside one of the haybales surrounding the area. He stabbed his arm into the bale and lifted it into the air, quickly spinning it and throwing it toward the two Weavile clones in the front.
But he didn't stop there. He opened his beak and unleashed a torrent of bubbles using Bubblebeam toward the haybale, hoping to hit it and send it rocketing forward at the last minute, straight into both of the front two Weavile and, so he hoped, that would cause those two to at least hit some of the other Weavile. Although his aim was really to simply hit the front two, hitting others and eliminating them as well was definitely something he was interested in.

As per usual, the First Aid tent was not far at all from the place where this round of the tournament was held. As they hauled Deb inside, a couple Chansey immediately got to work, crowding around the Blaziken. They hauled her past a partition at the back of the tent, while the Machop who had previously been carrying Jaer were standing guard. Apparently, this back room was private.
But from behind Tai, a certain Scyther seemed interested in the Buizel. "Psst. Hey! You! You just came in with Deb right? Come over here."
----------
As Ansgar launched the the first hay bale, the four clones behind the ones using Spite took cover behind other obstacles. Vito was now down to ten clones, and he wasn't sure how good of an idea it would be to waste much energy making more. Still, it might be his only choice. The Empoleon's list of weaknesses was short. Vito didn't really have many moves at all worth hitting him with. About all he had was Revenge, and that might be tricky to land with the clones he had. Vito needed a proper shot. He decided it'd be best to wait to see what else the Empoleon had up his sleeve.

Tyler contined to follow behind the Machop, keeping an eye on Deb as he did. The last thing he wanted was for them to take some unexpected turn and to lose sight of her so soon. However, he soon found himself completely blocked off by Machop.
"H-hey, I need to get in there, you-" he started...but then he heard another voice call out to him from behind. Or at least, he had assumed it was for him, as he'd been the only one here who'd come in with Deb. He turned around and saw the sorry-looking Scyther nearby. "Ooh, I know you.... You're, uh...Damon, right? That Scyther that just got his green butt kicked around by that no-win Roselia?~" He grinned a bit at the tease. "Whaddaya want, huh...?"
Tai did have to admit, though. His curiosity was peaked, so he obeyed and started walking toward him. What could this Scyther want exactly?
~~~~~
Right where he wanted him. Ansger hid a smirk he had been about to reveal and he lifted his arms above his head. Between his claws, a small vortex began to form. As he poured a little bit more energy into it, the vortex began to grow, until it was a very decent size. He then arched his back and threw it forward. However, he made sure to twist his arms in such a way that the vortex would be given a bit of a curve.
If Ansgar had his way, the vortex would be able to curve around and strike where the Vito clones were hiding. Or at least one or two of them. There was no way the haybales would stay planted in the ground and NOT get caught up in the Whirlpool he had just launched. At the same time, he tried to throw it in such a way that it could potentially also make its way toward the real Vito and the four remaining clones around him.
Damon decided it was best if he just ignored the Buizels comments about his last round. For both of them.
"So you seem to know Deb pretty well, hmm?" Damon paused a bit, sizing up the Buizel. He seemed to be of minimal importance as far as Damon could tell, but he wasn't going to take any chances. Deb didn't need distractions while he had her on the job. Best to nip this in the bud. "So surely you know about her work as a con-artist? If you're really good friends, she'd have told you about that by now."
---------------
The two clones knew there wasn't much they could do about the whirlpool. They let out a Screech before going up in smoke.
Meanwhile, the two Vito on the other side of the arena used Hone Claws, preparing to make a move later.
At the back of the arena, the Vito split up into two groups. Four of them headed around the arena to side in which the clones had just been destroyed, while the other three headed around the opposite side, each group staying near the edge. One of them contained the real Vito, but it would be near impossible to tell which group to the untrained eye. This time, Vito had decided to go with the double-bluff, leaving his real self in the group of four.
Not that it mattered. At this point, Vito couldn't afford to lose too many clones. He was determined to strike before that became a problem, though.
Tyler nodded at the Scyther's words. "Yeah, of course. I'm only her best friend ever you know." He seemed content to brag about his relation to Deb to everybody he met, closing his eyes and puffing out his chest with pride. But at Damon's mention of Deb being a con-artist, he opened one of his eyes and looked at him. "A...con-artist? Maybe she is, or maybe she isn't. I'm not saying a thing. I think you're trying to trick me, but I'm not falling for it."
Tyler shut his eye again and turned away. "Besides, even if she WAS a con-artist, how would you know? She'd tell only people she was friends with. And I'm not so sure she'd be telling that kind of information to an enemy in this tournament."
~~~~~
Ansgar stood firmly as the Weavile let out a loud Screech without flinching...this didn't worry him much. If he was going to use up as little energy as possible in this battle, he didn't plan on taking any uncalculated hits anyway. However, at the same time he did not want to be taking any more damage than he could prevent. That was something he would have to consider as well. For now, he had more pressing matters to attend to.
As the group of Vito dispersed, they came at him from opposite sides of the arena. Four of them on one side, and three on the other. Unless the real Vito had somehow managed to disappear and hide somewhere, he had to be among them. Which meant that, no matter which side Vito chose, he would be restricting himself. The decision on which side to attack could not have been any easier.
Ansgar turned his attention to the group of four that were coming at him. He opened his beak and unleashed a torrent of speedy bubbles in their direction, sweeping horizontally in an attempt to hit as many as he could. His reasoning was simple enough...no matter where he aimed, if he aimed at the side with the most Vitos rushing him, he had more of a chance to destroy more clones with fewer moves. Even if the real Vito was NOT among them, he could potentially destroy four clones, as opposed to the three that were on the opposite side. As far as he was concerned, he didn't even need to think about where the real Vito was.... That wasn't much of a factor at this point, given how he wanted this battle to end.
The moment his Bubblebeam was finished, however, he quickly changed moves. Now, instead of bubbles escaping from his throat, a smoky white mist emerged. This Mist move was going to guarantee him that his defenses weren't reduced more than they already were.

"Ha! Me, an enemy. Shows how much she's told you. I'll let you in on a little secret, seeing as Deb is such a 'good friend' of yours. I've hired her to help me with a bit of a project I have for this tournament. And here's a bonus fact for you: she's never made a 'friend.' If she has, it was because they had something she needed from them. Let's face it, you're just another long con. I don't know what she wants from you. You don't look like you've got money. But I assure you, she's gonna get it if you stick around." Damon stared down the Buizel intensely as he said all this. Unblinking. Deb knew better than to let any distractions like this 'friend' get in the way of her work, and Damon would make sure she regretted it. If he hadn't showed up, she probably wouldn't have passed out from that poison. That's another set of eyes Damon didn't have around the park right now.
-------------------
The four clones on that side immediately changed formation, leaving two clones to take the Bubblebeam attack in the front, and a clone and the real Vito to dodge whatever got past the front two from behind.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the arena, the two hidden Vito who had used Hone Claws joined up with the three others as they were running past. As Ansgar used Bubblebeam, the two buffed Vito each used Revenge as they slashed at Ansgar. The other three scattered, each finding a separate haybale to hid behind.

Tyler half turned-around, away from the Scyther making such strange accusations. He raised his paw up and waved it a bit, saying, "Yeah yeah, whatever you say." He flashed a small grin at Damon before continuing, "First of all, I don't have any reason to believe anything coming out of your mouth. Secondly, I only JUST saw her again for the first time in ages. So of course she hasn't had time to tell me anything about this tournament or any of her plans. Third, even if she doesn't tell me, it could just be because she doesn't want me involved. And of course, lastly, that's just it. If she wanted something from me, she'd have surely brought it up by now. I mean...if she wants something I have, all she needs to do is ask for it, and I'm sure I'd be fine giving it to her. But...I don't have much money, and I'm nowhere near as strong as she is. I dunno what she could possibly want from me."
Having gone off on a bit of a ramble at the end, he trailed off, thinking on it for a moment. Was there something he could possibly offer her, other than his loyalty? If he had such a thing, he sure didn't know what it was. So how could she?
"Anyway, if you're really on the same side as Deb, I wouldn't think trying to separate her from one of her friends is quite the way to keep her there, don't you think?" he said, finally getting back to the main issue. "I mean, you said it yourself. She could be one of the best con-artists in existence. I wouldn't think that making her mad like that would be helpful to your little...er...how did you put it...? Project...? Well whatever, I'm sure it would hurt your little team a bit."
Tai was clearly very attached to Deborah. It was going to take more than some sore loser mantis' silly words to get him away from her.
~~~~~
Ansgar quickly turned his attention back to the group of three Vito clones. He wouldn't have much time to enjoy destroying those two clones, and he knew it. The other three had been after him the same way, of course. However, it seemed that the three were not the only ones there. Two more Vito clones, who had apparently been hidden away somewhere, joined in, bringing the total of clones up to five.
Ansgar carefully observed the group of five, and their upcoming actions. He took notice of every movement the revealed. Analyzing a battle was his strong point...and there was no way he was going to allow Vito a solid hit. He had to give thanks to his Analyze. It was a very easy move to hide, and it bolstered his already peaked analysis skills.
Got it.
As the two Vito clones came at him with Revenge, he shifted his weight and moved his body at the last moment. ended up right between both Vito clones, narrowly dodging both of their attacks. However, he wasn't about to just let the clone miss and go on their merry way. No, instead his fins shined for a moment, and he swung them upward; his attempt to slash the two clones with his Metal Claw attack.
Damon shook his head as he laughed. "You think she works with me because we have an ideal relationship? Haha. You're mistaken. She deals with me for the same reason she deals with anyone else, including you: I have something she wants. That's all. That's how she sees the world. What option gets her the biggest purse? That's how she has to think. It's necessity.
"You said it. She could be the best con-artist in the dimension. But there's only one way she's getting there, and that's through me. So ask yourself this: is whatever you have to offer her, be it friendship or otherwise, worth more than her aspirations? Her dreams? Do you think you're doing her a favor, keeping her tied to some world where everyone plays nice and you always have someone you can count on? If you really look at yourself and seriously consider just what the nature of your relationship is, I think you know the answer."
--------
The two clones were in shock as their attack missed the Empoleon. They hadn't imagined such a large target could evade them so expertly. That this Empoleon could read the actions of so many targets, process all the input, and then act as swiftly as he did was unfathomable. This was all they managed to think as they poofed away in the smoke as so many clones had already.
Vito was down to his last 4 clones: 3 hiding on one side of the arena, and then one paired with himself on the other side of the arena.
"Do you have a plan? Because I'm running on empty here," the nearest clone said to the real Vito.
"Really? My existence is going to come to an end here in the next minute and you think I have time to come up with a plan? I have an existential crisis to get through here, if you don't mind. Come up with your own plan, mister solid flesh and bone," the real Vito replied. It was a pathetic gambit, Vito knew, but if there ever was a time that Vito needed to use every last trick he had, this was it. He had profiled several of his clones after making sure they were fully aware of the fact that they weren't going to exist, and that their life was fleeting to perfect his ability to blend in with the rest of his clones. It was a painful process, but it had saved him a lot of hard times at the hands of true analytics in battle.
Okay, not really, but at least it was coming in handy now! Probably...
Tai stopped at Damon's words and looked back at him. He had to admit, the Scyther sure did make quite a few good points. It sounded like it matched everything he knew about Deb perfectly. After all, that situation when they had last met definitely showed how much she'd be willing to risk to get her claws on a sum of cash. He wasn't sure what this Scyther meant by it was her necessity, but he ignored that. It wasn't all that important anyway. Could Deb just be using him as a means to get something? But then, why would she choose him? Was it just because she needed somebody to be so loyal to her or something...? Had she been using him since their first meeting?
Finally, he shook his head. He was sick of this stupid conversation. "Hmph...I guess you have a point there," he said simply, arms raised behind his head. Then, he abruptly spun around on his heels, facing toward the area where Deb had been taken. "Oh well. I'm bored. So see ya, mister. I have a friend to go check up on. She's been poisoned, after all. Can't leave her there too long without her best friend." And with just those words, he started walking forward again, not even bothering with so much as an explanation.
~~~~~
If Ansgar's memory served him properly--and he was certain that it did--then there were only 4 clones remaining. In other words, if Vito wanted to continue with his clone charade, he would have to produce more soon enough...which would in turn cause his Stealth Rock trap to take effect. He could also tell from the looks of the clones' faces that he'd just demolished...that they hadn't expected such a counter from him. The look was quite satisfying. At long last, even the great, cautious Vito revealed that he was capable of underestimating his opposition. And underestimating his analytical capabilities was not something that's done without severe consequence.
A fact that Vito was sure to soon learn.
However, for now, he had a matter to deal with. Three clones had gone into hiding behind hay bales. While he was certain that he could hit one or two of them from here, he wanted to strike a blow to the real Vito, so if he could work out which clone appeared to have a higher probability of being the real Vito than the other clones, that would be the one to strike. And that was where Vito's conversation with his clone came into his consideration. If he knew anything about Vito's tactics so far, it was that he never revealed himself after he mixed himself in with his clones. At least, not when the ball was in his opponents' court.
But could such a pathetic, desperate attempt to cover his identity really lead to that second Vito being the real one? It seemed far too easy to figure out to match Vito' modus operandi. Then could that mean that they were simply trying to draw his attention away from the other three that were currently in hiding? Then again, he WAS in a rather desperate situation. And oftentimes, he'd found that when a tactician's plans went awry, many tended to panic and lead things even further astray.
Then again...what did it even matter to him? After all...he didn't want to merely defeat Vito. No...a single defeat would be insignificant in this tournament. He needed to show Vito a decisive, complete victory. That he could counter anything and everything even this powerful foe could throw at him. So...he decided on a bit of a more...provocative approach.
Ansgar opened his beak and unleashed yet another torrent of bubbles using Bubblebeam. This time, without even so much as a word or motion of warning. His target was none other than the second Vito. It didn't matter which one he hit (though he doubted he'd be able to strike a blow at this distance anyway) at this point. However, this one had the higher probability of being the real Vito...even if it was only slight. And striking the real Vito would be an extra bonus...and he could even play it off as completely intentional if he wanted to.

The real Vito took action quickly. He put up his best attempt at blocking the incoming bubblebeam. Lucky for him, there wasn't much to worry about. Damage was damage, sure, but he had another plan. One that would make this hit pay off.
The three Vitos on the other side of the arena sprang into action. The first one charged at Ansgar, forming two Ice Shards, one in each hand, and hurling them at either side of Ansgar to keep him from moving to his left or right.
The second Vito charged in behind the first. As the first Vito stopped to hurl the Ice Shards, the second forcefully jumped onto the first, causing the first one to poof. He then jumped off of the first, and used the downward momentum to slam his elbow down on the Empoleon's head in an aggressive Revenge attack. Sure he would probably hit one of the Empoleon's prongs in the process, but coming in this close, he wasn't bound to last much longer anyway.
The third Vito launched a Spite attack to follow the first two Vitos, using them as cover until finally traveling through the area the first one had poofed in to finally make contact with Ansgar. Then he quickly went back to hiding behind the hay bale. He would be needed later.

Ansgar's attention was immediately grabbed by the three Vito that had sprung into action. Just as he'd expected. While he was curious what the three of them would be up to, he figured he wouldn't have time to just sit here and observe. And so, when the first Vito did his job and threw his Ice Shards to either side, it became glaringly obvious that they were trying to trap him. He had to admit, it was a decent tactic. But with his reflexes, it was probably not going to end how Vito expected it to.
The next moment after the Ice Shards were released, Ansgar moved. He jumped to his immediate left, jumping directly in the path of the Ice-type attack. As a Water- and Steel-type Empoleon, this Ice-type attack was not going to faze him much. But that wasn't the end of his plan. As he moved, he brought up his bare fin. He brought it forward and swiped it at the tip of the shard, careful not to shatter it using too much force. He ended up breaking off a bit of the tip where he'd hit it, but otherwise, the shard was still intact. That was all he needed. And of course, he still felt the pain from the impact...but due to his double resistance to such a low-power move, it was easy enough to ignore.
The shard seemed to just hang in the air for a moment, spinning. That was the moment Ansgar took. He reached out with his other arm...and attempted to grasp it. Once he had it in his grip, he spun it around and threw it like a boomerang in the direction of the Vito clone he saw that was coming down at him from above.
And, just to be on the safe side, he continued going, running under the assumption that his 'boomerang shard' didn't work like he planned. He would make an attempt to dodge the Revenge attack by shifting his weight and twisting to the left...even if there would be nothing to react to. It was better safe than getting hit by a super effective Revenge attack with his reduced Defenses, at least.

As two more clones went down, the boomerang shard tearing through the space the clone occupied, Vito knew he was in a bit of a desperate situation. His last two clones weren't going to last him, and even if they did their effect on this battle would be negligible. Vito wasn't very familiar with Stealth Rock, but he knew full well it would prevent his cloning technique from being effective. He had to try it though.
The other two clones sprinted at Ansgar, each releasing a couple Spite attacks as quickly as they could, the black shadows shooting in the Empoleons direction, hoping to drain some of his energy. This would amount to little more than a distraction, though.
Meanwhile, Vito prepared to create clones. Lots of clones. Exactly 100 clones, all brought into existence at once.
As soon as they came to be, the stones shook, flying into the air and seeking out a Vito shaped target, hurling themselves at the clones. The clones made as good attempt as they could to dodge the attacks with what limited information they had. They bounced off of each other, attempted to use other clones as shields, and hurled each other through the air. Even with their myriad of evasive techniques, the clones poofed into nothingness one by one.
After all was said and done, Vito had only managed to save a single clone out of the 100 spawned. Still, he had gotten a good look at the way Stealth Rock seemed to work. Vito figured if he had time he could probably manage to save half of the clones he spawned. At least when creating such large numbers. But he didn't have time, nor would it be worth the energy at this point. Vito still had a job to do and he couldn't waste all his effort on his matches like this. Vito knew this match was lost. It was just a matter of how he went down at this point. Surrender wasn't an option, though. He simply couldn't go through with that at this point...
But that didn't mean surrender didn't have its uses.
Still shrouded in smoke from the destruction of 99 clones, Vito prepared his next, and likely final, move.

Once those two clones were finished off, Ansgar turned his attention to the three Vitos that now remained. Two clones and a single other, real Vito. He knew that Vito's battle style focused on his endurance...but he also knew that each time he created a clone to get destroyed, he lost a bit of his stamina. At long last, he knew that it was about time for his Stealth Rock from the beginning of the match to take effect.
But immediately, he had two more issues to deal with. However...they were only minor issues to him. When the two remaining Vito clones began to dash at him, he willed a large amount of water to surround his body...and then he launched himself at one of the clones on the right side. His Aqua Jet attack was an incredibly fast attack...and while it was still slightly possible to evade it, it would allow him to strike before the Vito could launch his oh-so-predictable Spite attack...while still allowing him to get out of the other Clone's reach.
And with his Aqua Jet move finished, he stopped himself and landed on his feet, turning around...and quickly followed his move up with a Bubblebeam, aimed directly at the last remaining clone.
He had become aware of the presence of 100 additional Vito clones. And now, the Stealth Rock was taking its toll. He could tell that Vito was merely feeling out his attack to allow more clones to survive in a future battle. But to him...it didn't matter. This one victory over Vito was all that did.
During the confusion of Stealth Rocks flying, Ansgar knew that he wouldn't be able to attack his opponent directly right now. His own rocks would just jump in the way. However, he still wanted to prepare himself. Underestimating his opponent at this stage could prove disastrous. He needed to assume that whatever Vito wanted to accomplish here could be done so using just one more move. His Mist that had been enshrouding the battlefield was beginning to lift. That was dangerous...if Vito hit him with a solid physical move and lowered defenses, he might have a bit more difficulty. And so, he opened his beak and more Mist began to pour from within him, shrouding him once again.
And now...he felt ready.

As the dust from the rocks, as well as smoke from his own clones began to settle, Vito and his clone raised his claw in the air.
"I submit the match," the clone said in a clear tone, both the clone and the real Vito standing in the open completely exposed. The dust finally settled, both of them with their arm raised.
Without a clear view, it would be hard to tell who had said what, but Vito knew the rulebook backward and forward. He hadn't submitted to anything. As long as it was his clone and not himself doing the talking, this match was still ongoing. The question was, did Ansgar know that? If he didn't, Vito got himself a cheap shot. While that likely wouldn't change the outcome of this match, it would sure be satisfying.
But if he did, Vito earned a powerful bit of information that he'd been suspecting for a while: Ansgar knew, at a glance or even by voice, whether or not a Vito was the real deal. While that seemed obvious at this point, Vito wasn't sure to what extent this ability would work. This setup was invaluable at this point.

Ansgar looked on as the dust from the rocks settled. At long last, when everything had cleared, Vito was standing there; along with his single remaining clone, with a hand raised. Just prior, however was...a surrender? That was certainly an interesting twist for the Weavile to make. But it was then that he noticed something that was very strange. Only one of them had actually spoken, given the voice he'd heard. While that in and of itself wouldn't be too suspicious, the fact that the surrendering Pokémon was Vito Steele himself, it was something very note-worthy.
However, Ansgar was quick to work out the situation. Vito wasn't the only one here who knew the rules of the tournament like the back of his claws. After all, he needed to know the boundaries of the rules if he were going to test them. He knew exactly what Vito was scheming. But...what he didn't know was the 'why.' Vito was certainly not above sneak attacks, but such a thing wouldn't do much for him in this situation. Was he trying to get a feel for him? Well...if that were the case, there was only one thing for him to do.
"...Well, that is certainly rather unexpected of you, Vito," he said, allowing himself to drop his guard and begin stepping casually toward the Weavile. To somebody not in his head, he looked as though he truly believed that Vito had surrendered. "I always took you as the 'fight until the very end' types, not the cowardly."

"On the contrary," the real Vito said, approaching Ansgar attempting to match his casual air, "I much prefer to be in control of the outcome of a match, whatever that may be. I just hadn't been put in a situation like this until now." To someone like Ansgar, an obvious lie, but also one that Vito was apt to make: a self-aggrandizing one
Vito offered a claw to the Empoleon in what would appear to be a friendly handshake of congratulations.

"I suppose that is a truth as well," came Ansgar's reply. "Although I would have assumed that you would try to re-attain control of the match for yourself, rather than give the win to your adversary. Although I suppose you do have losses to spare in this tournament...especially if you want to get to that certain someone. I notice that he's had a difficult time winning so far." He watched as Vito extended his arm to shake. Before reaching down, however, he decided to add, "So I suppose even I can be wrong every now and again."
At long last, he played along. He reached down and made a grab to accept Vito's hand...clawshake.

Vito smirked at the mention of his real target. One thing was for certain: Ansgar knew more than he let on. He may have entered this tournament as an almost completely unknown, but whatever his reason for being here, he at least managed to get Vito's attention.
As soon as Ansgar grabbed Vito's claw, Vito took his opportunity. He grabbed Ansgars claw tightly and threw his opposite shoulder into Ansgar in another Revenge attack.
