Heheh. Perfect. Now all I've gotta do is finish this quickly, Jaer thought to himself. He charged at the confused Lucario, leaping to throw another Double Kick at him. As he landed, he slammed his fists into the ground in another Earth Power attack, sending cracks in all directions this time. This was necessary to set up his next move. If all went well, it would be the move that would end this match in short order.

As his Aura Sphere badly missed the Nidoking, Haru was taken by surprise. He stumbled a little bit more, trying to recover some decent footing. He still had no idea what was going on with him, but he knew that he wasn't in any condition to keep fighting at this rate. He had to figure out a way to calm himself down...but how was that going to happen...?
Suddenly, however, Haru's already-blurred thoughts were interrupted. The Nidoking came charging at him and, before he knew it, he had a large foot colliding solidly with the side of his face, followed up quickly by another kick to his stomach. The Double Kick landed solidly and he was sent flying backward, letting out a loud cry of pain as he did. He felt his back slam hard onto the ground as he slid backward for a few feet.
Through Haru's blurred vision, he saw the Nidoking slam his fist into the ground. A move that he had already seen before. He knew that that move was going to cause some severe damage if he couldn't avoid this one. And so, he tried to focus his dizzy thoughts as much as he could...and this time, he was able to get it to work. He rolled over backward, using his hands to spring off of the ground, narrowly avoiding the attack. He hated the idea of being forced to fight defensively like this, abusing his Detect move, but at this point he really had no choice....
Haru landed on his feet...barely able to keep himself from sinking to his knees due to the dizzy sensation he had been feeling due to his Confused status. But he refused to back down...there had to be SOMETHING he could do...!

There's that Detect again. And perfect timing too. Now there's nothing to stop me from finishing this.
Jaer dug his fists into the cracks he had just created. "Let me know how it is in the next losers bracket, Haru. This battle is mine." Jaer used the cracks he had created with his last couple Earth Power attacks to dig out a large chunk of void. He then used Superpower, a technique he had hidden for a moment just like this, to hurl the void at the Lucario.
With no Detect, Jaer was confident there was no way Haru was getting out of this one.

Haru landed and tried to focus his attention forward again, trying to get Jaer in his sights, preparing to launch another attack. However, before he could get moving, he heard Jaer's words and he looked at the bulky Pokemon. "What the he-" he started to ask. But before he could say any more, he watched as Jaer dig out a large chunk of void. His eyes widened with surprise as he saw this superior display of sheer power. He stood there, stunned as he watched the huge attack come hurtling toward him.
He was helpless without access to his Detect move. The chunk of mass struck him hard, and he let out a loud cry of pain as he became crushed by the attack, and a large dust cloud erupting from the impact.
Following the impact, there was a seemingly long, empty silence...although it only lasted for roughly half of a minute. Shortly, however, a noise could be heard of the bits of void crumbling and falling against other parts of it. As the dust began to clear, the rubble of the void chunk that Jaer had thrown became clearer...but so could a small figure.
Haru, obviously damaged quite heavily from the attack, was standing, paw up against the slab of Void. However, while he was still up, he doubted he could handle much of anything more. This Nidoking was far stronger than he had anticipated...but now he was ready to turn that power against him. Assuming, of course, that this last-ditch attack would be enough to turn things around.
Despite his injuries, he smirked while breathing heavily. Without a word, he focused all of his attention and remaining energy on charging forward. If this didn't work, he wasn't sure he could win this...but he refused to go down without a real fight. And so, he finally lunged forward, bringing both of his palms forward, attempting to slam both paws against Jaer's chest. "'Let me know how it is in the next loser's bracket'...!" he echoed as he attempted to use his Counter attack with just about all of his remaining strength.

Jaer smirked as the Void crushed his opponent. That'll do it. There was no way that Lucario could take those attacks and manage to get back up afterward. There was nothing to do but wait for the official call.
As the dust settled, Jaer wondered why no call had been made yet. He had no time to prepare before Haru charged at him.
Jaer flew back at the force of his own attack. The power of his own Rivalry, his own Superpower, and anything else that Lucario could muster throwing him backward onto the ground. He laid on his back, trying to get up, but the force of his own attack multiplied by his own weakness left him with little energy left. No. This match was mine. It can't end this way. he thought to himself with his last bit of consciousness.
With that, every screen on the fairgrounds declared Haru the winner of match 13.
As with all the other rounds, the chairs immediately ejected, and the Machop came to collect the combatants, joined this time by a disappointed Shauntelle.

Haru panted, exhausted from the effort he had just put forth. As he saw Jaer get thrust backward by his Counter attack, he smirked to himself. However, his energy didn't last, and he quickly sank to his knees, dropping quickly to all fours, unable to keep himself standing any longer. Exhaustion quickly took over, and it was all he could to prevent himself from falling under a double knockout. He had to give Jaer credit...that Superpower attack took him by surprise, and there was no way he could match power like that.
As much as he hated to admit it...Jaer was far more powerful than he was. But it seemed from the results that he himself was the better fighter. And that's all that really mattered at the moment. The moment that thought crossed into his mind, the official call was made and suddenly everything went black.
As the chairs ejected, Haru was laying in his seat, unmoving. So far, the only winner to come out of the machine unconscious like the loser.
"W-wow, that Lucario sure is resilient," Cassius commented after seeing the finale of the battle, glancing at Doug. "I was sure that that Superpower was the end of it. I don't know how he could get back up after that...."
"Well, if there's one thing that defines Haru...it's stubborness," Jet replied from Doug's opposite side. But even he didn't think that Haru was THAT tough....
Nearby, however, a larger, muscular form rose from his seat and made his way toward the machine. The Machamp looked the machine up and down. "Is this puny little thing really going to fit me in here...?" he asked as he attempted to take one of the two seats. He thought back to his conversation with Damon and thought for a moment. 'Now...what was I supposed to do after beating that Empoleon again...?' he thought to himself. 'Oh...I think it was important...and Damon's going to yell at me again if I forget....'

Ansgar made his way to the chairs without too much of a fuss. The attendants made sure Jarek would fit into the chair, adjusting the armrests to allow for a wider body, and somehow extending the back of the chair to accommodate for the extra height.
As the chairs entered the machine, Ansgar found himself enveloped in white. It wasn't often he found himself wondering how something worked, but he had to admit, this machine did make him feel like he was really here in this void. Even in such an abstract place. He would have to do his research on this when he got the chance, but for now he had to focus on the match at hand.

As Jarek watched the attendants work him into a suitable position in the seat, he continued trying to jog his memory about what his job was after winning. Even when he was finally ready, he still couldn't quite recall. Before he could think of anything, he felt the seat get pulled right into the machine just like it had with the other combatants up to this point.
Suddenly, Jarek found himself in a world of white. The only thing that stood out was the black and blue Empoleon standing some distance away. However, he didn't pay much mind to his surroundings. Instead, his mind focused, once more, on just the one thing...how to remember what he had forgotten so that he wouldn't get in trouble again....
Jarek paid little to no mind to the Empoleon, even as the match drew near to its beginning. He didn't have much time to think, however, as less than a few seconds after he gained his bearings, the countdown began.
3...2...1....
FIGHT!
The loud announcement cut through his thoughts and he unfolded his arms and looked up. "Wha...huh...?" he mumbled, taking a moment to realize that the fight was already starting.

As soon as the countdown began, Ansgar braced himself. He knew full well what he had to attempt to do if he were to last long in this fight at all.
By the time the countdown hit one, he was in a battle stance. He was crouched and ready to spring at a moments notice. But instead of attacking, he opened his beak and began to Sing. Very sweetly, and with an interesting dialect. It sounded like a foreign language, even.
Even if all it could do was buy him time, the Empoleon was sure this was his best bet to getting anything done in this match.

Jarek looked on as the Empoleon began to Sing instead of come at him with some kind of attack. "Hey, what are you doing over there...?" the Machamp questioned. "This is supposed to be a fight, not a singalong!" However, he was an impatient Pokemon, so instead of waiting for Ansgar to stop Singing, he instead decided to make the opening attack himself.
And so, the Machamp took a step toward the Empoleon, readying his well-known One-Hit Knock Out attack, DynamicPunch.... However, his movements became sluggish as he began to take his second step and, before he realized it, he was sinking to his knees, beginning to doze off from the affects of Ansgar's Sing move, forgetting all about slamming his powerful fist into the Empoleon's face. It wasn't long before his head dropped down, and a soft snoring could be heard...he had become fast Asleep.

Ansgar stood his ground as the Machamp charged at him, feeling a slight sense of relief as he fell over, asleep. Heheh. And now the real show can begin. Ladies and gentlemen, tonight for your viewing pleasure, I present, Jarek, the fool. Tali, I hope you're watching. You could do with a few pointers on showmanship.
He crossed his fins in front of him as he stopped singing, using Swords Dance to raise his attack. He may as well kill two birds with one stone. In addition to showing off, Ansgar planned to see just how invincible this Machamp was.

The battlefield seemed rather uneventful for a few moments as Jarek remained sound asleep. At first, it appeared as though Jarek sat helpless as Ansgar built himself up for a powerful attack. Certainly, being fast Asleep in a one on one battle was a dangerous thing...as it allowed the foe to boost his own stats before dealing out some serious damage....
However, Jarek was not so easy to take down it would seem. For soon, he rose back to his feet...however, his eyes were still shut and the soft snoring sound still resounded in the Void. "No..." he mumbled in his sleep. "...I...I dun' wanna...!" As he mumbled this apparently nonsensical words, he leaped toward Ansgar. Despite his being Asleep, he was still able to act as though he wasn't...due to the use of the Sleep Talk move he was beginning to reveal.
As he jumped at the Empoleon, he made sure to land just short...and he squatted down with surprising and impressive speed and swept his foot around, in an attempt to slam it hard into his opponent's legs and sweep them out from under him...using his Low Sweep attack, as his still-sleeping body used one of his moves at random due to the effects of his Sleep Talk....

Ansgar jumped back, dodging the leg sweep elegantly, doing his best to act shocked that Jarek knew a move like Sleep Talk. (Even under pressure, his acting was still far more than enough to fool anyone he needed to fool.) He wasn't going to go on the offensive just yet. It wouldn't be worth the risk of waking the Machamp. He used swords dance again, raising his attack even more. The reason for this battle was two-fold.
1: Cause trouble for the people who think they're running the show at this festival. 2: Figure out if Jarek has any vulnerabilities that can be taken advantage of.
From what he'd seen of the Machamp, any chance he had of making a dent would require a fair amount of extra power. There wasn't much point in trying until he was ready.

Due to him still being sound Asleep, Jarek had no way of knowing what he was doing, or how his body was reacting. His body continued to act on his own through the means of Sleep Talk. As his Low Sweep attack missed, he seemed to stop for a moment, returning to his dormant slumber. However, it wasn't long before he came out of his mini-stupor and brought something new.
This time, however, instead of charging toward Ansgar again, he stood there and flexed all four of his arms, his body preparing itself for another attack in the future. It concentrated all of his energy on the situation...with a simple Focus Energy, courtesy of the Sleep Talk once more.
And still, the Machamp mumbled nothing but a soft snore....

Ansgar backed away just a bit more, using Swords Dance one more time. Now he was ready to go offensive. He reached his arm out and flew at the Machamp, using Metal Claw as he passed Jareks chest. It was risky to make a pass within reach of those arms, but with Jarek asleep, retaliation probably wasn't as much of an issue, even with that Sleep Talk technique.
Still, he needed to be careful. One blow would be enough to ruin everything he was trying to accomplish. He couldn't afford to take any more risk than he had to.

Ansgar's Swords Dance-boosted Metal Claw slashed cleanly into Jarek's body. As a result, Ansgar did what no other in the tournament had managed to do before.... As the Metal Claw slashed across the Machamp's chest, he was knocked over backward, landing hard onto his back with a loud thud. The Empoleon had managed to hit the Machamp hard enough to cause him to fall to the ground....
However, not even that seemed to last for too long. The Machamp brought his arms down and lifted himself off of the ground using all four of them. He climbed back to his feet, back facing Ansgar. "Why you...." he roared, tone growing more fearsome by the second. "I won't stand for getting knocked around like this...! I'm not gonna let you get away...with...!" Then he turned around to face the Empoleon...eyes still closed shut. He was still fast asleep.
He then mumbled something inaudible under his breath...now back to his past calm demeanor from before Ansgar's Metal Claw. Of course, that also meant that something new was coming.... And sure enough, Jarek leaped forward just a moment after spinning around. In another act of randomness due to his Sleep Talk...he crossed his arms as he jumped, trying to slam into the Empoleon with his Cross Chop attack.

As the Machamp started to yell, Ansgar tensed up, ready to run. But as soon as Jarek settled back down, so too did Ansgar. So the lug can be hurt, he thought to himself.
As Jarek came at him with a Cross Chop attack, he backed up and distanced himself once again. He wasn't going for another attack just yet. He didn't want to risk waking him up. Ansgar figured he would get what he needed eventually. Until then, he would only attack enough to keep it interesting for the audience. He wanted to make sure everyone would see what happened.

The Machamp's Cross Chop struck nothing but air...again. However, something different happened once his body settled down again from the next attack. Instead of waiting for the next move like he usually did, he spun around to face his foe once more. He tucked his four arms in to his sides and appeared to be preparing himself for something. He began to growl as he concentrated a ton of effort...or rather, his body was concentrating.
In just a moment, his body began to coat itself in some kind of hard, shining substance. His entire body became coated in what appeared to be diamonds. He now 'wore' an entire set of body armor made of these diamonds. But even through all of this, his eyes remained shut, and the soft sound of snoring could still be heard once the 'armor' was in place. This signified that the Machamp was still fast Asleep, most likely unaware that he was just about to unleash a move that he had been attempting to keep hidden all of this time....
And so, he rushed forward, toward the Empoleon as quickly as he could, attempting to slam him with perhaps one of his ultimate moves...the Diamond Dash attack.

Here it comes, Ansgar thought as Jarek prepared his next attack. The Empoleon prepared for another dodge; there would be no point trying to stop this attack. As the Machamp rushed toward him, Ansgar knew he had to move quickly. The speed of the attack was impressive, and if Ansgar knew this move, the power was something he didn't want to chance coming in contact with.
The Empoleon slid out of the way just in time. The attack was fast, and powerful. For all Ansgar knew, the only thing keeping him from taking a hit he probably couldn't bounce back from was the fact that Jarek was still asleep.

As Jarek's attack just narrowly missed, the Machamp continued charging forward with sheer power and speed that had not been shown yet in the entirety of the Wish Festival as of yet. He was, however, able to come to a complete stop. When he did, the diamonds that surrounded his body began to disappear and his body returned to its normal state.
The Machamp turned around to face Ansgar once again, as though he was preparing to launch yet another Sleep Talk-driven attack.... However, instead, he ended up finally opening his eyes. "Wha...huh...?" he yawned to himself, allowing his limbs to stretch out as he did. "Where...?" It was then that his eyes fell upon Ansgar that was quite a distance away. "Oh yeah!" he suddenly exclaimed. "I was fighting you...and you started to sing...and...oh well, it doesn't matter. I'm just going to go ahead and beat you now, alright?" Then, without pausing to wait for a response, he suddenly jumped forward again, now fully aware of his actions. He pulled one of his fists back as he came down at the Empoleon, readying his powerful, signature move...his DynamicPunch.
He was completely unaware of the fact that he had already just shown off his hidden move that was perhaps even more powerful than this one....
