NEED SOME EXTRA CASH?
THIS MAY BE JUST WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR
Archeologists have recently discovered a tomb said to contain ancient treasures and secrets just waiting to be uncovered by modern Pokemon.
Whoever built this tomb had plenty to hide - it is treacherous, labyrinthine, and heavily guarded by ancient spirits.
But we're the type who can eat ancient spirits for breakfast! We can solve mazes blind, and our unprecedented cunning allows us to glide right over traps without launching a single dart!
You, too, can walk among the greatest of adventurers - can BECOME one of the greatest adventurers.
To unlock the world's mysterious past and become a hero of history; nay, a hero of time itself, past, present, and future!
To bring home enough gold to buy out the entire Dimensional Guard!
If this has always been your dream, then you are in luck, my brave friend. An expedition to the center of the Ado Tomb is forming as you are reading this.
Our first official meeting place and time is in Daetus Field, just outside of Jarikar City by the 1000-year-old oak tree, March 10th at sunrise. All future legends are welcome!
Become a legend!

Doug made his way around the outskirts of Jarikar. He wasn't really sure he was a 'future legend' as the poster had described, but for some reason he felt like he needed to find this group. Even if the group was filled with people with strength and intelligence on heroic scales, surely they could find room for an Abra. What with all the potential danger, perhaps teleportation would be a very useful tool. Either way, he felt that he needed to find a way to tag along with this group. Something about it seemed important. Doug wasn't really tempted by the money, or the fame, but being in these surroundings for the last year or so had made him feel outdated. He was from another universe, that much was sure, but even when he had met humans from the same place, he was much more familiar with a world about 200 years younger than the world they had left. Perhaps poking around an old tomb was just what Doug needed?
Either way, Doug had made sure to camp out around the poster to find out a little more about this "Seth Leon" and, as embarrassing as it may have sounded, directions to this 1000 year old tree. Not by asking of course. Doug didn't need to seem suspicious. A few people looked at the poster and seemed about as confused as Doug was. For a couple of them, the words "Millennium Tree" flashed through their minds before shrugging and leaving. Doug liked the name. It had a bit of a ring to it. In any case, he had also gained a bit of an idea where this tree was.
Which was where Doug was now. A tree near the much more aged tree. And there he waited to see who else was going to show up. After all, he didn't know anything about this 'Leon' guy.

Janice was walking along Daetus field, wondering where she should go next, when she saw an odd grouping off various pokemon off in the distance... what was even more peculiar, was that a majority of them had unique appearances. She hadn't met any pokemon with unique coloring besides herself, other than Cenric, a Shiny Raichu, but even that was a shiny pokemon, so it still existed in the other world. Could these possibly be other humans? It was just a theory, and a wild one at that, but it could work...
The Vulpix began to run strait for the group. "H-hello!?" She shouted out. She hoped she was correct about her theory.

Jet was slowly making his way toward a large tree out in the field just outside of Jarikar City. Just what was he doing out here…? He was still trying to convince himself that this was actually something he should be doing. So far, he’d had zero percent luck in doing that. Just what was he doing here anyway? Especially if he couldn’t fully convince himself that this was important…. But ultimately, deep down, he knew that this could very well help him.
Jet had arrived in Jarikar earlier in the week. He had heard about the Arena here and how it seemed to attract all sorts of renowned, powerful fighters. And that was what Jet had been looking for; somebody who could teach him how to stand up for himself and fight a lot better than he could now. He needed somebody to take him under their wing and help him get stronger…both physically and mentally. He hated himself for being such a weak little coward…especially after he had allowed that Sneasel to get away.
But unfortunately for him, he hadn’t had even a smidgeon of good luck with that. Everybody he talked to either brushed him aside or ignored him completely. One had even gone so far as to insult him and deliver a firm punch to his stomach and walked off…making sure to trample on him as he did. Jet remembered the man saying something about wasting his time with such a stupid request.
He had been about to give up all hope when he’d come across a poster in town. This one was about some exploration into an underground crypt of some kind. Well, it wasn’t what he’d come here for originally, but it would certainly work out anyway. At least, that was his hope. He really wanted this little expedition to strengthen his resolve and make him more courageous.
And that was why he was here. Jet finally made his way up to the tree and looked around. A Vulpix was already heading toward the small gathering of…virtually nobody at this point. His attention was caught by somebody sitting around nearby. Somebody he could swear that he knew. An Abra camped around a nearby, smaller tree. Sure, almost all Abra looked the same in this dimension, but for some reason, he could never forget the presence about one of his best friends.
“H-hey, is that you, Doug…!?” Jet called out, starting to turn and make his way over to his old pal. However, in his inattentiveness, his foot was snagged on a root sticking out of the ground. He let out a cry of surprise and fell down hard onto the ground with a loud “Oof…!” He groaned a bit under his breath and started to get back to his feet and dust himself off when suddenly, he felt something heavy hit his back and force him back down onto the ground.
It was the foot of a Lucario who was now smirking down at him. “Heh…I don’t know what YOU’RE doing here, kid, but I suggest you stay down. It’s where you belong anyway.” The emerald flame on his right wrist made it very clear who this particular Lucario was.
“H-Haru…!” Jet exclaimed in surprise. He hadn’t expected the Lucario to be here, that was for sure.
Haru had been waiting around since dawn for anybody who would show up. He’d learned of this little expedition earlier in the week and had decided to tag along. He had received an anonymous tip that the Dimensional Guard were hiding some kind of secret down there. And this would be the perfect way to sneak down inside and take a look around. If he could expose or discover something that the Guard wanted to keep a secret…well, that would just put him in a rather advantageous position.
Haru’s gaze lifted upward. He had heard Jet’s (who was now just laying under the Lucario's foot, just hoping not to get stomped on) calling out to the nearby Abra. And sure enough, an Abra was sitting nearby. “Heh…well well, look who we have here? If it isn’t the Runt Brigade showing up in full-force?” he called out with a cocky smirk plastered all across his face. Oh, this was certainly going to be one fun little excursion.

Janice was shocked by what just happened in front of her. A seemingly innocent Buizel was just knocked to the ground for no reason! "Who do you think you are!?" She shouted out at the Lucario. She gave him a glare of anger, which she rarely ever felt. She usually only got upset, or scared. "What did he do to you!?" She didn't know what she was getting herself into, but she knew it wasn't going to be pretty... but how was she supposed to just look away as some innocent guy was getting beaten in front of her?

When he heard Jet's voice, Doug breathed a sigh of relief. So perhaps he wasn't outclassed in deciding to tag along. And if Jet was going to be here, Doug certainly wasn't going to ditch him. Jet had a habit of letting trouble follow him around, but that certainly didn't mean he wasn't dependable. Even with Doug's teleportation getting stronger, as well as having a little better understanding of what was going on inside his head, he needed someone to watch his back, even if that meant he had to watch their back a little more than the average person needed.
But before Doug could greet his good buddy, a headache came along in the form of a Lucario. Haru didn't seem to like anybody as far as Doug could tell, but Doug still felt he had more of a rivalry with him than anything. Haru could say what he wanted, though: Doug could handle him, and had already taken him down once. "Hello Haru, It's nice to see you too. By the by, I see you've mistaken that Buizel for a pathway. It's a simple mistake, though I think you should probably get off of him," Doug reported.

Haru looked up as a random Vulpix started yelling and glaring at him. His gaze met hers and he couldn't help but chuckle a bit at her words of anger. "...Heh. little girl, you're lucky you're not worth the effort of shutting your mouth." he said with his usual cocky tone. "Don't go butting into any business that isn't your own. I'll do whatever I want, whenever I want since I've got the strength to do it. Like SO." As he put emphasis on that last word, he suddenly put quite a bit more force down onto his foot for a moment, causing the Buizel still caught underneath it to let out a small yelp of pain. It wasn't much...but it still hurt. "So, unless you want to be down here with him, I suggest you keep that little muzzle of yours zipped tight, alright?"
At this point, Haru had his arms crossed and he turned his gaze back over to Doug again. "Well I guess I could say the same thing to you. After all, this gives me a real chance at finally getting you back." He smirked and unfolded his arms before proceeding to place one palm against his hip while the other hung down by his side. By now, it was almost as though Janice no longer existed...or at least that he had never even acknowledged her existence in the first place. "...No, I don't think there's really been a mistake." he called back. "I think he's right where he deserves to be." The last note on that sentence had a bit of a whimsical sound to it.
Meanwhile, Jet just continued to helplessly lay under Haru's foot, unsure if he should bother to react or not. To be completely honest, he probably could get out of this if he really tried. However, the issue came from a mental handicap. He was utterly terrified of Haru at this point. He was always afraid that, if he fought back against Haru, he'd just get himself hurt. But no...maybe not this time. Jet looked up and saw that he had two supporters with him. One was a Vulpix who he didn't know, but the other was Doug. And Doug had managed to beat Haru before. Surely he wouldn't let Haru do anything to him.
But no, despite that...he just couldn't bring himself to do something that might anger Haru. And so, he stayed down. However, he wasn't just going to lay here like he had been before. Doug was right there, and surely he wouldn't let his good friend get crushed under the Lucario's foot like that, right...? And so, he started to struggle. He first tried to wriggle himself free by shifting his weight in an attempt at misplacing the Lucario's center of gravity. But Haru's foot was too firmly stamped against his back for that to work. Next he tried to get himself onto his knees. Unfortunately, that didn't work out very well either. If he started to even budge himself off of the grass, Haru would put more muscle behind the foot and force him back down again. Of course, that still wasn't going to stop him from trying....
"P-please get off of me, Haru...!" he whimpered a bit.
"Mmm...nah, it's too fun to watch you squirm." he retorted.
Good thing there really wasn't anybody around to laugh at Jet right now. After all...it was rather humiliating to be pinned to the ground like this by nothing but a single foot.

"Pfffthahahahaha..."
It had taken him awhile, but Bob the Zigzagoon had finally found the big oak mentioned in the flier. And upon doing so, what did he first see but Jet being trampled by Haru, both prior acquaintances of his? He couldn't help but giggle as Jet desperately tried to remove the Lucario from on top of him. "Hey Jet, looks like you finally found your calling in life," Bob called as he ran up to the gathering. "Being a stepladder!" He continued laughing, forgetting his original reasons for finding that tree in the first place.
He glanced over, noticing two other Pokemon in the vicinity he didn't recognize - an Abra and a Vulpix, neither of which seemed to be having nearly as much fun as he was. He managed to find an elusive gap in his own fit of laughter through which he could speak. "So hey, what's everyone doing here anyway?"
Right on cue, another Pokemon arrived at the tree. This one was a Combusken, colored a rustic tan and brown instead of yellow and red. He wore a red headband decorated with fire, and walked confidently and proudly. He looked at the gathering of Pokemon, particularly Jet and Haru, and gave an unamused sigh. "The time for droll tomfoolery has long passed. Dissonance will only set us back. One moment."
He slipped on a pair of translucent red glasses, looking through them at each Pokemon in turn, stopping for a moment at Haru. "Not bad," he commented, folding up and pocketing the glasses. "I was expecting a bigger turnout, but I see many of you have a lot of potential nonetheless. Welcome aboard! I am Seth Leon. As a Crypt Buccaneer under my care, you'll ascend from aspiring journeyman to infallible mercenary in no time!"
"Oh yeah, THAT'S why we're here..." Bob muttered to himself.
"Now, I'd like everyone to take a moment to introduce themselves," continued Seth. "We'll be traveling together for quite some time, and I'd be delighted to hear of your dreams and ambitions so that we may better fulfill them. Young Vulpix, you may start."

Janice didn't want to back down, but the Lucaro's force on Jet causing him to scream in pain was just intimidating... she could only think of her sister's screams for help as Janice just watched the poor girl die.... But... this wouldn't nearly be as bad... right...? Regardless, the Vulpix just bavked down, ears folding back and tail curling down and head lowering in intimidation. "I-I..." she spoke nervously in teply to the Lucario's threat. But she was glad to see someone else standing up for the poor Buizel. But then came a Zigzagoon that was getting on her nerves laughing at Jet. But she was afraid to talk back, still, so instead, she just continued to stand back and watch the Buizel struggle helplessly...
Thankfully, the situation didn't get too bad before someone else came up. He soon began to talk like he was the president of some club. The Combusken tgen said something about... a crypt? Janice soon felt nervous... were these people grave robbers? She started to slowly back away, but before she could get too far, the Combusken asked her to introduce herself. M-me?" She asked. "My name is Janice... but... I'm only here to see if anyone could help me..." The vulpix quickly pointed out, hoping her story wasn't about to get too many laughs... "I- I think I'm from a whole different dimension..." She quickly looked away to hide her embarassment from the laughter that she expected to come at any second.

Easily sensing discomfort in the air, Doug decided now would be a good time to interrupt. He had figured this would be as good a time as any to show off exactly what might make him worthwhile on this venture. "I'm Doug," the Abra started, "I suppose I'm here to perfect my talents." Only a small part of the truth, but true enough. Luckily, no-one else here looked like a mind-reader, so no-one would be the wiser... except Jet, but Jet wasn't about to betray the Abra's trust. He knew that from experience.
Doug teleported behind Haru, grabbed at the Buizel trapped under his foot, and teleported back to his original position. "But enough about me, let's hear about this guy." He said, trying to help the Buizel off of the ground. As he did this, he took a glance at Haru to see how he was dealing with the sudden loss of his footstool.

The moment he heard that all-too-familiar laugh, Jet could practically feel his face go slightly pale. He was able to crane his neck far enough to look upward again to see the Zigzagoon Bob approaching. It was quite an awkward angle compared to Doug, who'd been right in front of him. His paleness soon turned into a flushed red as the Zigzagoon commented on his position. And in front of Doug no less.... Just how could things get any more humiliating for him? Well, he supposed it could be worse.... There could be an entire crowd or something around him in a circle...pointing...and laughing.... Oh great, the thought of it made him blush even harder in his humiliation!
But just then, as though right on cue, he was saved from further embarrassment. A Combusken had shown his face and given them some kind of unamused look. Well, at least he wasn't laughing. He then took out some kind of red glasses and looked over everybody in the immediate area. He was pretty sure he'd seen something of a similar sort elsewhere before...but he couldn't quite put his paw on it. Just what exactly was he doing? It looked almost as though he were scanning each and every one of them. But...just why would he want to do something like that? It seemed like a bit of a waste of time to him....
Meanwhile, Haru was still smirking to himself. When the familiar Zigzagoon arrived, he couldn't help but roll his eyes a bit. Sure, he was on good terms with Bob and all...but that didn't change the fact that he found him more annoying than anything else, really. Thankfully, it wasn't very difficult to ignore him this time...he wasn't being directly addressed, unlike usual.
When the Combusken arrived on the scene, he couldn't help but chuckle at his first statement. "Heh! That doesn't make it any less fun." he said in response. "Sorry pal, but I don't take orders from anyone." Just as he finished with that, the Combusken pulled out a pair of glasses. There was no mistakening those. Haru knew exactly what he was looking through...those Scanglasses of his would give him information on everybody here. From their level of Power to equipment they happened to be carrying around. As the Combusken stopped at him and half-complimented what Haru assumed to be his power level, he couldn't help but chuckle again. "'Not bad?'" he repeated back. "I don't know if your little device is displaying it right, but I'm plenty sure that I'm better than everybody else around. Including you." That may not be true in the slightest...but it didn't have to. That's how he felt right now.
But while Haru was busy responding to this "Seth Leon" (he hadn't even paid attention to Janice or Doug's words), he hadn't noticed that Doug had Teleported behind him. Jet felt the Abra grab onto one of his split tails and then he suddenly found himself looking straight at Haru...from a distance. Sure, he was still on the ground and all that, but he no longer felt the strong pressure of the Lucario's foot on his back. It took him a moment to register in his brain that he had just been Teleported away to safety. He looked on as Haru suddenly stumbled from his loss of a foothold. He let out a small cry of surprise, but he was quick to catch himself and glare over in their direction.
That caused Jet to shiver a bit in fear, so he quickly looked away. He was able to get back up to his feet by accepting Doug's help. He reached up and grabbed Doug's arm, who then helped to pull himself back to his feet. "Th-thanks, Doug...." he mumbled in his usual, timid tone. But then, a moment later Doug put him on the spot. "Wh-what...? Me...?" he said, suddenly flustered. "W-w-well, I, uh...m-my name's brave and I'm here to learn to be Jet...." It took him a moment to realize what was wrong with what he just said. And that caused him to blush in embarrassment again. "I-I mean my name's Jet and I'm here to learn to be brave...!" he called out, this time much louder to the point where it almost sounded like a shout. He also had shut his eyes as he did. He heard a snort from Haru who ended up bursting out in a small bit of laughter.
...That certainly didn't help him.

Bob, if it were even possible, seemed to get even more enjoyment out of Doug's stepping in to free Jet. It was impossible to tell if he was laughing at Haru, or still at Jet, as he was doubled over in hysterics. It took a while, but he finally managed to calm down. "Ohoho man, that's rich..." he shoved away the giggles. "Anyway, I'm Bob, and I really just came to see what all the fuss is about. Good show so far! You three should join the circus or something!"
Seth Leon patiently listened to everyone's introductions, nodding occasionally and understandingly. "Yes, Miss Janice, it's not abnormal to feel alienated when you're lacking in the confidence department," he commented. He watched Doug's removal of Jet, wearing a mildly impressed expression. "You're well on your way already, Master Doug," he complimented. He couldn't help but chortle a bit at Jet's words. "Not to worry, Master Jet, 'bumbling' is but a step away from 'brave'! After waiting patiently for Bob's noise to cease, he continued. "Glad to see you're not stressed, Master Bob, but this tomb will be no walk in the park. You'll need to be on your toes!"
Haru was the only one present that he didn't seem to tolerate. "Now listen here," Seth was quick to respond to Haru, in much the same tone as a father would use to address a misbehaving child. "You may be the toughest out of my recruits here, but you still have no room to talk. 1000 Power is decent, but only just. I'll have you know that mine is 1522 and I could wipe the floor with you at the drop of a hat. Go on, take a gander if you don't believe me." He tossed the red glasses at Haru confidently.
"But, we're not here to engage in childish fisticuffs," Seth went on. "We're here to delve deep into the abyss that is our world's ancient, long-lost history, and work together to reap the dormant, priceless treasures and knowledge. We'll depart shortly, as long as nobody has any questions to ask, or unfinished business they need to take care of."

Haru's gaze transferred over to Bob once he had gotten his footing again. He was STILL cracking up...!? Hmph...well whatever. He was certain that Bob was still lughing at the little runt who'd just gotten done humiliating himself over there. Bob may be crazy, but he at least had some kind of strength and intelligence in there. There was surely a method to his madness...kind of. Surely he was smart enough to know what would happen if he began to make fun of him, then that would lead to nothing but a world of hurt. And of course, Bob didn't stand a chance against him...so he could enjoy paying him back if he WAS laughingat him.
But then he turned his attention back to this Seth Leon. This little Combusken was getting well onto his nerves. Trying to talk Jet into some kind of self-confidence.... Well alright, that he didn't really care about all that much. After all, he was well aware of Jet's inferiority complex. There was nothing anybody could tell him that would fix it. And he always found it quite amusing when people believed that he could make something of himself. But who did this little chicken think he was talking to?
Haru growled in anger and clenches his fists. He wanted nothing more than to charge at this stupid Fire Pokemon and beat him as hard as he could. But before he could act on his anger, he heard Seth's declaration of their power levels. He himself had a power level of 1000? Heh...that sounded even better than what he had imagined. But it wasn't a big surprise...after all, he'd managed to defeat a fully-fledged member of the Dimensional Guard in battle before. He couldn't help but smirk and lift his head with his pride. He had had no idea what his power level was...after all, one couldn't read his own level with those Scanglasses.
But what caught him by surprise was Seth's declaration that he was stronger. When Set revealed his own power to be at 1522, Haru's eyes widened with surprise and he lowered his arms again. N-no way...that wasn't possible. He had to be bluffing. But before he could call that bluff and pull out his own pair of Scanglasses, Set tossed him his own pair. Haru caught them, growling in irritation. There was no way what this guy was saying could be true.... The only person who should be strong enough to even give him a challenge should be higher-up Pokemon like the Dimensional Guard. "...H-heh...nice try. Like I'm going to fall for some kind of stupid bluff like that...." he said, though with an obvious lapse of confidence. He slipped the red shades over his own eyes and activated them, looking directly at Seth as he did. "There's no way you can be as strong as you say you are." There was...no way he could be telling the truth...right...?
Meanwhile, Jet couldn't help but smile a little bit at Seth's words. It was comforting knowing that there was another person that could keep Haru in his place, along with Doug. Since he had Doug and this Seth guy he seemed to be able to rely on, he didn't really have any more concerns...all that he had to do was be brave and face whatever was coming. If this Combusken was telling the truth about being so much stronger than Haru, then he was certain that he and Doug would keep Haru and Bob off of his back.... The rest was all on him.... Needless to say, his confidence was getting a pretty good boost from this.

Doug wanted to say something. He wanted to jab at Haru a bit more, but he knew this wasn't the time. As far as Doug could tell, Haru's mind was racing at the idea that someone else might be stronger than him. He wanted to note that the Combusken didn't need a higher power level, or some reference to how he was perfectly capable of beating Haru, but Doug decided it was best to keep that information to himself. It was an easy secret to keep. The only other people that knew about that were Haru and Jet. Haru wasn't about to go around talking about his defeats, and Jet probably wouldn't for fear of antagonizing Haru.
Suddenly it occurred to Doug that he didn't know how much power he himself had. He now knew for sure he had less than Haru, but he wasn't exactly sure how much less. He may have been able to pick it up from the Combusken, but there were too many other numbers going through his head for any information about himself to be reliable. He could have someone else check: he did still have his own pair of scanglasses. Doug wasn't sure why it never occurred to him to check before. Perhaps it was because it wasn't all that important to know a number when there was no-one to compare to.
Doug didn't really have any questions that needed addressing at the moment; anything he needed to know could be discussed along the way. He shook his head at the combusken, and relaxed himself a bit. Doug noted ever since Haru had shown up he'd been rather tense. It wasn't an odd reaction altogether, but Doug always had to wonder whose reaction he was actually experiencing.

With Seth in its sights, the red screen casually calculated a number that scaled first into the triple digits, and then beyond. A fourth figure appeared, and by the time the numbers stopped moving, they had settled on a value of 1522, right on the nose. Seth showed a hint of pride as he waited for Haru's reaction, but not such that he was overwhelmed by it.
"Now, don't stress over the revelation," Seth began in a firm, authoritative tone. "With diligence and perseverance, you'll be as tough as me someday. That's why we're here, after all - to hopefully find not only relics of the past, but also the courage and strength to continue pursuing whatever else you so desire. This journey begins here and now. Now, my friends, follow me... to victory!" And with that, he began to march off to the fields. He seemed to know exactly where he was going, which begged the question - if he already had the courage and strength, and he already knew where the tomb was, would he really need to advertise and form a group to accompany him? He may have claimed that he wished to train others under him, but why would he bring them straight to a potentially dangerous tomb that he himself had never entered?
These questions went through Bob's mind as he began to follow the Combusken, and he became more and more curious... and the more he thought about it, the more insecure Seth seemed to him, hidden underneath that coat of confidence and authority. However, the matter was quickly pushed deep into the back of his mind, replaced with thoughts of food. 'Oh man, I forgot to have breakfast this morning...' he thought in between rumblings from his stomach. He didn't even think it was possible for him to forget about food. 'I hope we stop for something to eat on the way...'
