(This is just a direct repost from the last thread since I like Jennifer's story and just want it to be picked up where it left off. ) The Twister attack yielded much better results then Jennifer would have hoped for. John was freed from the guards who were trying to bug him, and Theo's guards had become distracted. Too distracted to deal with him, thank goodness. Theo managed to knock over the guards who were running towards the entrance with a Flame Wheel, which meant that Jennifer wouldn't have to deal with them. At least, not right away. That was a very good thing, because John knocked one of the Lucario into a certain wall, the wall crumbled away to reveal something else which would demand her attention. 'What? Oh no! What are legendary Pokemon doing back there...?' Jennifer thought, nearly freezing when she saw Entei and Darkrai in cages. In her eyes, Legendary Pokemon deserved to be treated with respect. Imprisoning them in the second dimension was just as bad as imprisoning them in the first dimension. Theo seemed to share her views. "R-right...We'll try to get them out of there." She quietly responded, though by that time Theo was already attacking more of the guards, so he probably didn't hear her. The image of Suicune appeared in Jennifer's mind again. 'I have to get over there...I intend to keep my promise.' She decided to try and make her way over to the cages while Theo kept the guards busy with his attacks. It wouldn't be easy, with all of the chaos going on around her, but that only meant that she would have to get to the legendaries as quickly as possible. Jennifer started to make her way through the guards as carefully and fast as she could.

The Lucario that had crashed into the sealed wall rose shakily to his feet. Rage boiled within him, directed entirely at John. Due to this Seviper, the mountain's secret was finally revealed to the outside world. The Lucario knew this wouldn't go unpunished. If he was to suffer from the wrath of his own kind, when in his mind the fault wasn't placed with him, the Seviper would suffer even more pain. He ran at John, charging an Aura Sphere attack. It was difficult for the naked eye to see what happened after that, due to the dimness of the scenery. The Dimensional Guard's Aura Sphere was much brighter than normal in such circumstances, causing the returning darkness to cover the result of the attack.
Flames immediately came into view afterwards, causing all within the cave to feel its heat. The Guards turned their gaze to Theo, quickly surrounding him. The Flamethrower barely slowed them down, easily letting them overwhelm the Quilava. He fought back with ferocity, trying to not be engulfed in the seemingly hopelessness of the situation. His voice was soon heard in the form of a yell, "Jennifer! Get to the Legendaries! Don't worry about us for now, just help them!" His voice faded as he continued to throw his all at the Guards.
If Jennifer thoroughly inspected the cave containing the Legendaries, she would see that Theo's distraction had left her a small path. It was narrow, and seemed risky, but it was existant. The Guards that had rushed to the front of the cave no longer had their attention on the Dratini. They seemed to think that the Quilava was more of a threat at the given moment. If their attention would stay on Theo, however, was impossible to tell.
The Legendaries, meanwhile, were thrashing at the sight of the opening. The Entei's encasing metallic bars were gleaming red with heat. Though, something about the two majestic creatures seemed almost pitiful. As if they had been kept their for a while. Their rage was easy to see, though their attacks against the inanimate cages were weaker than one would expect of a Legendary.

As Jennifer was traveling toward the legendaries' cages, she couldn't help but look back. She knew that if John and Theo weren't in trouble yet, they were going to be soon, despite their strong efforts. That only meant that she had to get to the cages as quickly as possible. Nothing else was going to help in this situation. If she turned back to help with the fight, it was likely that Entei and Darkrai weren't going to get freed, thus causing her friends' efforts to be in vain. 'T-that path...' There was a small path leading to the legendaries. '...is my only option.' Lucky for Jennifer, she was able to fit into the narrow area, which allowed her to slither over to the cages.
It didn't take too long to get the caged Pokemon, but once she got there, Jennifer was faced with yet another problem. "O-ohh, wait...how will I get them out?" She whispered to herself. It didn't seem like she was going to be able to break the cages open with her attacks. Entei and Darkrai were already trying to do that, and although their attacks did seem weakened, Jennifer felt like they were still probably about as strong as her's, if not stronger. She started to inspect the cages for locks, but stopped when she realized that a lock would raise yet another problem. She had no keys to open anything with, and no way to pick a lock open without hands. It was highly doubtful that her tail would be slim enough to pick a lock with.
Finally, Jennifer decided she had already wasted too much time, and that it would be quicker to just ask. "E-excuse me...! Entei, Darkrai, please tell me how to open your cages." Their cages were clearly made out of metal, but what kind of metal wouldn't melt from Entei's heat? 'Maybe if I could combine my attacks with theirs, the cages would finally break open.' But it was clear that their cages could take a lot of punishment. There had to be another way.

Only pure chaos was visible when Jennifer glanced back. It was difficult to discern anything with the ongoing attacks occuring. The only fortunate thing about such a scene was that the battle didn't seem to be halting in any way, shape, form. It seemed that John and Theo were still giving it their all, and had not yet been defeated.
As the Dratini entered the cave, the action caught the attention of one of the Dimensional Guards. The Lucario turned around sharply, yelling a command. Fortunately for Jennifer, the others were too caught up in their own battles to pay any attention to it. Exasperated, the Lucario muttered something to himself, though it was impossible to hear in the havoc. A dark, purple-hued energy surrounded the canine Pokemon. In a rush, it was released, heading towards Jennifer. The Dragon Pulse attack was fast, and lessened the distance between it and the Dratini quickly. As the energy passed through the narrow opening, the walls of the cave trembled. Rocks that held up the entrance to the cages fell heavily, landing on the ground below. It wasn't long before the entrance collapsed. Most of the Dragon Pulse attack was blocked due to this, though sparse remains of it spread a bit further before dispersing.
As the attack cleared, something frightening was made apparent. The entrance was almost completely blocked. Only a small clearing existed, high in the re-sealed wall. It looked like even Jennifer might have trouble squeezing through such a small opening.
Although Jennifer's words had been spoken before the interruption, the Legendaries in her presence hadn't time to respond. After long periods of silence, the Entei's voice finally formed a response. "Little Pokemon, you are certainly foolish. Do you think that I would fall into such a trap as that? I have seen many things in my years of existence. Therefore, I am not easily tricked. I have long since established that those of your kind here in these mountains are not hoping to 'assist' me. While it does intrigue me as to why they would trap one of their own in this cavern, I shall not take it to heart. So little one, it would be in your best interest to take not one step closer." The Entei's last sentence were said with a vicious snarl. He was clearly did not believe that Jennifer had come to help them.
The Darkrai, meanwhile, was silent. He was watching Jennifer with unreadble eyes. All around the two legendaries were more of the cages, though they were empty. What was odd, however, is that none of them seemed to be open. Even if inspected thoroughly, none of them even appeared to have an opening. How odd.

Before the legendaries had a chance to say anything, Jennifer heard a loud crumbling noise behind her. The cave started to shake violently and before anyone knew it, rock upon rock had piled up in the place where the entrance used to be. It looked like they were all trapped, but at the very top of the huge pile of rocks was a small opening. None of the three Pokemon would be able to fit through it. However, it might be possible to enlarge the exit later. '...I'll have to fix that later...' Jennifer thought calmly. It wouldn't do any of them any good to start worrying. Not before the legendaries were freed, at least.
The silence that followed after the entrance's collapse was long and tense. Jennifer waited patiently, but the longer she waited, the more apparent it became that something was wrong. When Entei finally spoke to her, she found herself surprised by his anger and quick judgement. '...I-I didn't think that would happen.' She admitted to herself. It did make sense though, when one thought about it. Entei and Darkrai have probably been imprisoned in the Opal Mountains for a long time. Their faith in the local Pokemon may have faded as a result. Or at least, Entei's might have. It was impossible to tell what Darkrai may have been thinking.
Jennifer nodded respectfully at Entei and Darkrai before turning to examine the cages around them. All of the cages were empty, but none of them seemed to be open or have any openings. "These cages...t-they look normal. But no prisoners could get in or out of them...." She mumbled to herself. Quite a few ideas were filling her mind. Were the prisoners somehow teleported in and out of the cages? She reached out with her tail tip to touch one of the cage's bars, as though she expected them to be intangible. '...Was Raikou in one of these cages...?'
The thought of the missing Legendary dog reminded her of Suicune. Jennifer took a deep breath and turned to face Entei again. "Entei...Suicune has been looking all over for you. She's very worried...and has asked for help from other Pokemon to find you, Raikou, and the rest of the captured Legendaries..." She wasn't sure if mentioning his sister would help, but she wasn't going to get anywhere if she couldn't reason with him.

The two Legendary Pokemon paid no attention to the Dratini's muttering. However, what she said next certainly caught Entei's attention. "Suicune..." He was speaking softly to himself. Suddenly, renewed energy filled him as he continued to speak, much more rapidly this time, "Where is Suicune at this moment? Is she safe, injured?" His face was pressed against the metallic bars of the cage. Flames erupted around his legs as he spoke with such fervor. Moments later, they slowly died down into no more than sparks as the words finally settled in. He lowered his head ever so slightly before opening his jaws once more, "I see. I only wonder as to why Suicune would come to you. I would have expected her to confront a more capable Pokemon. Though due to such circumstances, I have no other choice than to put my trust into you, little one. It would be for the best for both of us if you did not fail this task. I should imagine that you have already seen the effects of our absences. The world is imbalanced while such a large number of the Legendary Pokemon are missing. We cannot go on much longer this way. I truly fear for the future. However, I should stop speaking there. No need to worry yourself with the troubles of those far above you." The Entei spoke with a sense of long-acquired superiority, oblivious to his demeaning words. However, it did hurt his pride in the slightest to go as low as to rely on the help of weaker Pokemon like Jennifer.
"As for Raikou," the Enteir continued, a hint of pain seeping into his voice, "he has long since been taken away from this place. As for his exact location, I can't be sure of in this cave. I would assume that I would have a better sense of the area he was in if I were in the open, but that seems more and more unlikely at the moment. Only time will tell of what is to come. Let us hope that we will settle all issues in the end."
An odd laughter interrupted the Legendary's speech. A shadow on the opposite wall from the cages came into view, revealing the figure of a rather large bird. As it spoke, it's voice reverberated throughout the small cavern, amplifying the sound, "My dear Dratini, I must commend you. You are the first outsider to have wandered into this cave. However, you won't be the first to make a return trip, I'm afraid." The Xatu spread its wings, only barely visible. He glided down on an invisible wind, landing only inches from Jennifer. He moved his right wing in front of him, as if in a bow. "I do envy your spirit, though. It's a shame that you will have to come to such a sudden and unfortunate end. I do feel the slightest regret. Such a beauty you are, truly a gem. If only you belonged in this vast region, perhaps then you could have been spared. Ah, we could only wish." The Psychic Pokemon chuckled, taking a few more steps forward. If Jennifer treasured her personal space, this creature was certainly invading it.
"I congratulate you, though. Your thoughts were correct. I am the only one who can save these pitiful creatures. No matter how much you try, you won't be able to crack the cages on your lonesome. Though, I don't have much respect for the 'Guard,' as you might say. So, I shall make you a deal, my little Dratini. I challenge you to a battle. If you come out victorious, which I find quite doubtful, then I will free these beings for you. But if I come out victorious, let me think. You seem to be the kind to think of others before yourself. So, if I shall be the victor, then your two friends, Theo and John were they? They shall be kept in these cages as well, while you leave. If you try coming back for them, or even bringing help, I will finish them off. Does that sound fair, my little Dratini?" The Xatu chuckled once more, pleasing himself.
Meanwhile, the Legendaries weren't as pleased. Entei was growling, while Darkrai hissed out the terse words, "Challenge us, coward." The Xatu chuckled once more. Before he glanced back expectantly at Jennifer, he spoke one more sentence:
"Now, now, that just wouldn't be any fun, would it?"

The fact that Entei was speaking to her, with an improved tone of voice, was encouraging to Jennifer. "I-I don't know where she is right now...." Although she had often wondered where Suicune was, she had met her before the dimensional shift, in the North Road. That meant Suicune could be anywhere by now. "But she was uninjured and safe when I had talked to her." What Entei said next was less then flattering. But Jennifer wasn't always the most confident Dratini, and she could at least see why the legendary might be surprised that Suicune sent her. She didn't think of herself as very powerful, or something special in this dimension. If she was ever to become either of those things, it would be by coincidence or for the sake of getting back home.
"I...I am not in this alone...my friends are outside, battling the Dimensional Guards that were posted here..." Jennifer confessed. She had to wonder where Miranda was, and if she was okay. At least she had gotten to see what John and Theo were last doing. Hopefully, Miranda hadn't gotten into a fight of her own; If everyone was stuck fighting, then there wouldn't be anyone left to help the rest escape. Jennifer sighed and shook her head. Trying to think of everything at once was tiring. As soon as she got done thinking of one problem, there seemed to be another one to consider. "Raikou has been taken...I'm sorry..." There was a slight tone of sadness in her voice, although her expression stayed as emotionless as ever. They were definitely going to need Entei's help if Raikou was ever going to be found.
Before Entei could finish everything he was saying, laughter could be heard from somewhere inside of the cave. '...Who would that be...?' Jennifer looked around, only to spot a sinister looking Xatu coming her way. She looked up as he landed in front of her. Although the invasion of personal space didn't seem to bother her, the complements he gave her made her cringe a bit on the inside. "...Umm...h-how do you know I'm not..." She trailed off. Psychic Pokemon usually surprised others with what they knew. Why should it be any different in this dimension? It wasn't like she was keeping her origin a secret from others anyway.
More importantly, the Xatu revealed the secret to the cages. She was right, surprisingly enough. The cages were unbreakable; Prisoners could only be teleported in and out, which was definitely his job. But what he said next nearly shocked her. 'A deal...?' Jennifer listened closely. At first, the deal sounded challenging, but fine. Unfortunately, the deal got tricky towards the end. In order to have a chance to save the legendaries, she would have to gamble John and Theo's lives. It didn't really sound fair at all. 'I-if I don't do something to save the legendaries, the whole dimension will be affected. But...but....if I fail, Miranda will lose her brother. And John wouldn't do well here....' It was a terrible conflict to try and debate. In the end, Jennifer felt like she would have to take a chance, but she would never be able to justify losing.
"I know I have to do something..." Jennifer said quietly, solemnly. 'I'll do everything in my power to win this...even if that means...' She ceased thinking at that point. "...I agree to your deal."

The Entei merely responded with silence. He had little more that he had to share with Jennifer, so there wasn't a need to possibly reveal a weakness in himself for the sake of a few unworthy words. The Xatu's laughter caused him to glance up and withdrew him from his thoughts. It pained him, but the only action he could take while trapped inside the cage was growling.
The Xatu stared Jennifer while she contemplated his deal. Her petty thoughts caused him to chuckle. He tilted his head and continued to stare with those coal black eyes of his, getting her answer a moment before she spoke. He spread out his wings suddenly, letting out a holler, "Wonderful! You made a wise choice agreeing to the deal. If you hadn't, I'm afraid I would have had to keep you in one of these cages yourself. And that, that would have been such a waste, now wouldn't it? However, let me warn you, my little Dratini. Don't think you can fool me. I can predict any escape strategies that you can think of long before you can implement them. So let's save the trouble, and don't try to pull any dirty tricks."
He lowered his wings, jumping back so that there was a distance of several feet separating the two Pokemon. The Xatu spoke once more, amusement filling his voice, "I couldn't be rude. Ladies first, my little Dratini. Make a move, and make it count. I'm afraid that you won't have very many of them."

The Xatu's words made Jennifer cringe on the inside, but at least it seemed like she had made the correct choice. Or as correct a choice as she could make. She glanced back at the cages which held Entei and Darkrai. She would have been less of use if she ended up sitting in a cage right next to them. When she looked back at the Psychic-type, he was talking about how she shouldn't attempt to trick him. "D-don't worry...I wouldn't dream of trying to trick a Psychic Pokemon. " Indeed, such an idea would likely be foolish. All trainers knew that Psychic Pokemon could read minds and, although Jennifer personally thought that all Pokemon could do this, were known for being so intelligent that they could understand human speech perfectly.
Battling the Xatu could end up being more then difficult. He was already reading her mind now; It was possible that he was going to use his power to try and read her mind in battle. Then he would be able to predict most of her moves before she made them. It looked like she was going to have to rely a little bit more on impulse then usual. "..." Jennifer moved back a foot or two for good measure and nodded at the Xatu. "Thank you." Like he said, this first move needed to count.
Images and thoughts lingered in Jennifer's mind, but it only took a moment to clear them. This battle was important; there would be time to think about the others later. At least, she hoped there would be. "Here...I go." Jennifer closed her eyes for a moment as a strange, purple colored energy started to flow around her body. When she opened her eyes again, they were glowing with an odd light. She had used Dragon Dance in order to raise her Attack and Speed stats, thinking that it would be best to start the battle as prepared as possible.

Not a muscle was moved on Xatu's part while Jennifer was deep in her mind's thoughts. If the Dratini put so much thought before every movement she made, he decided that this fight would be tedious, easy, but tedious. It wasn't in his preferences to listen to such a small being's petty problems. After many moments passed, the Xatu caught on to what Jennifer was doing, a moment before she did it. He chuckled once more before his voice was heard again, "My little Dratini, you have disappointed me so. Such a boring way to start off such a significant battle, don't you say? This will be the battle that either ends your life or has the possibility of etching your name into the books of history for eternity. Don't make it too anticlimatic, for I fear I might just fall asleep."
Jennifer's opponent seemed to not take much notice of her stat booster. By the almost bored expression on his face, it seemed as if he couldn't be bothered to think of her as a challenge. Once more he spread his wings to the fullest of their span, using them to lift him into the air, a mere few feet off of the ground. "Let me show you," he continued, words echoing on the rocky walls, "how to start off with a bang." He thrust his head backward, while the dormant wind in the cavern suddenly came alive, in a similar fashion as a volcano first erupting. The wind thrashed wildly before gaining a common direction, towards Jennifer. The soft whisper soon picked up into an eeire howl. Walls that came into direct contact with the wind shook, releasing rocks left to fall unto the ground. The attack became recognizable as an Ominous Wind, and not a poor one at that.

Jennifer couldn't care less if she had disappointed the Xatu or not. Something like that was at the very bottom on her concerns right now. That wasn't to say, however, that the Xatu would be as "boring" as her. Proof of that was, quite literally, in the air. The wind inside of the cave had started to pick up considerably. If the smell of the wind wasn't indication enough of the attack, the eerie howl that followed was. Ominous Wind was an attack with a decent amount of attack power, but worse then that, it had a chance of raising all of the stats of the user. She ended up losing site of the Xatu in her attempt to dodge the rocks that were tumbling down from the attack.
Slithering was a basic Dratini life skill that Jennifer was steadily getting better at. But most Pokemon that had to slither to get around weren't exactly known as speed demons, and Jennifer was no exception. Dodging the first few rocks was easy enough, but avoiding the actual attack while doing so was not. She ended up getting hit by most of the Ominous Wind instead of the majority of rocks that were falling down. Unfortunately, the few rocks that did hit her made up for the bit of Ominous Wind that missed, causing Jennifer to end up with the full amount of damage.
Xatu wasn't in the sky yet, which gave way to the possibility of hitting him with a physical attack. Jennifer rushed at him, going with whatever move came to her first. Her long tail started to glow with the same purple energy before as she flung it forward in a Dragon Tail attack. It wasn't going to make him run away, or switch with another Pokemon, like in certain types of battles. But if it could hit, it would probably cause roughly around the same amount of damage as Ominous Wind, without the possible stat boosts.

The Xatu had only a blank expression on his face as the attack turned successful. He didn't expect a different result. In such a small battle arena, it was near impossible to avoid such a vast attack. After the chaos died down, the Mystic Pokemon finally let out a chuckle as he said, "I admire your courage...Jennifer, is it? I hadn't expected you to still be standing after that, especially with such fighting spirit still remaining within you. It isn't often that I'm surprised, so honor that. Though, I shall warn you, such recklessness may only change your future for the worse."
As the Xatu finished up his small speech, Jennifer's tail was already preparing her next attack. A moment before her tail began to glow, he lifted himself further up into the air. By the time the Dratini had been ready to release her attack, he was already high out of reach. Hesitating for a few moments, he landed slowly and gracefully back on the ground, once the danger of the Dragon Tail had already passed.
"Is this the most of a battle you have to offer me? I wouldn't want to win so easily. Such a shame. I thought you would actually be even the slightest of a challenge. You have proved me wrong. I can predict your moves a second before you take them, giving me ample time to evade. Yet you still have yet to entirely adapt to such a technique. I suggest you learn how to fight me properly, and quickly at that." He spread his wings once more, a harsh cry escaping from his beak. The pitch wasn't pleasing in the slightest. The sound itself was rather disorienting; a simple Confuse Ray.

The battle was already getting pretty tricky. Jennifer's fears were confirmed; Xatu was going to read her every move before she made it. It wasn't just her thoughts that could make it easy for him to predict her moves though. He seemed to be able to predict her attack based on movement alone, if he needed to. "I...I see. You're right. I'll have to adapt, somehow..." Jennifer said quietly. She tried to think of her Gardevoir at home. Sometimes Gardevoir could predict an opponent's move, but most Psychic Pokemon that she had met didn't constantly do it like this guy. So how did other Pokemon fight against Psychic-types?
Taking a deep breath, Jennifer curled up into a little ball. It wasn't easy to dodge a sound-like attack, so instead she tried to drown out the Confuse Ray by ignoring it and focusing on something else. Her body eventually relaxed as a soft blue light passed over her. She had used Agility to raise her speed, so that at this point the combination of Dragon Dance and Agility made it to where the stat was raised at least three times. From now on, she was going to have to think less and move in as formless a fashion as possible. The only way she could imagine moving in a formless way, was if she managed to move quick enough. All Xatu was going to see for awhile was a little blue blur.
"...I-I think...I am better prepared for you now..." Jennifer said, still quietly as she uncurled from the ball that she was in. Her rather blank, but clear expression showed no confusion. She must have succeeded in dodging the Confuse Ray, because she was acting normally and still speaking properly. 'Your move.'

Jennifer's evasion of the Confuse Ray attack didn't put much of a dent into the Xatu's plan. He hadn't relied heavily on the attack being successful, as some might. Nevertheless, it was quite troublesome, meaning he had wasted a precious turn. If the Mystic Pokemon's previous actions and words had anything to go by, he didn't much like wasting time or resources.
The Psychic slowly shook his head, releasing a small sigh as Jennifer curled up into a serpentine ball. He murmered, just loud enough for the Dratini to hear, "How troublesome, indeed. Not only was there one turn that you have caused me to waste, but I must put aside yet another chance to end this battle. Your intentions were clever. If you had remained faster than me, not only would you be able to dodge, but not even my psychic abilities would compare to your movements. Unfortunately, such plans of yours are in vain. Little Dratini, you cannot trump over me quite so easily."
After Jennifer's last sentence, another wind began to pick up. This time, however, it was behind instead of in front of the Xatu. It picked up speed easily, though it didn't seem to be harming its user in the slightest. He swooped forward, merely showing off the results to his opponent. The wind had aided his flight, doubling his speed as to prior to the technique. A Tailwind, making his movements twice as fast. The Xatu continued, "My speed was already nearly twice as efficient as yours, and once again, my movements are faster than yours. No matter how many times you improve your speed, I will still triump and become faster. Now, I shall repeat myself once more. Do not waste your next attack. This fight has already dragged on for too long of a time. It is getting tedious."

This time, Jennifer hardly even reacted to Xatu's attack. The Tailwind didn't seem to worry her very much, as though it didn't matter that he was just as fast as she was now. Not that she had the time to worry anyhow. The next attack she used was the first one that came to her mind, and she twisted around quickly to create it. Before most knew what was happening, she had created an impressive Twister attack. Her new found speed let her launch the attack faster then she usually would have. The Twister traveled toward Xatu quickly. Most Pokemon would have a difficult time trying to dodge such a tall and fast attack.
As a former trainer, Jennifer knew that Tailwind only lasted for awhile; It was a temporary speed boost. Xatu had only succeeded in raising his Speed stat enough to match her's. Meanwhile, the boost she had received from Dragon Dance and Agility would stay with her for the whole battle. He was able to keep up with her for now, but if he wanted to keep his speed, he was going to have to use Tailwind throughout the entire battle. The best thing to do would probably be to prevent his Tailwind attack somewhere along the battle, but if she couldn't do that, she had other options as well.

The Twister headed towards the Xatu did prove to be quite a tricky one to try to evade. Its winds counteracted with his own, which would make it quite a feat to dodge in the air. At the height he currently was hovering at, it seemed unlikely that he would be able to swoop down to the narrow base of the attack with ample time to still dodge it. Though, the Xatu knew, if he stayed in his current position, the Twister would deal twice the amount of damage as it normally would.
Decided, the Mystic Pokemon made an impressive dive, one that would make any bird Pokemon envious. It was a near ninety-degree angle drop, causing the feathers on the Pokemon to flatten from the force. With the Tailwind, the Xatu dropped to the ground in only a few seconds, something that should give any normal being vertigo. As he was nearing the ground, the Xatu spread out his wings to their fullest. Despite the sudden drop, he landed on the cave floor below lightly, and without any noticeable injuries. At that point the Twister was dangerously close. The attack struck him dead-on, before dispersing moments later. The Xatu was still standing, and despite some ruffled feathers, seemed in a virtually perfect condition.
"I congratulate you, little Dratini, for landing a hit on me. Unfortunately, such a weak attack has little effect on me. Now, this battle has dragged on for much too long. Time to end it, here." A purple hued aura surrounded the Xatu momentarily, before exploding outwards and disappearing. A Psychic attack, one that Jennifer wouldn't be able to dodge as easily as she had the Confuse Ray. According to the Xatu's thoughts, at the very least.

When the Twister hit it's mark, Jennifer felt a wave of relief wash over her, though it only lasted for about a minute. Twister was a fairly weak attack, so Xatu had only taken a low amount of damage, as far as anyone could see. To make matters worse, he was now preparing a attack of his own, and a strong one at that. Psychic was nothing to tamper with. Jennifer had seen her own Gardevoir use it many times to devastate foes. Her stat boosts weren't going to give her an advantage over this either. Having more Speed wasn't the same as having more Evasiveness, which was an easy mistake to make.
The best Jennifer could do was try to dodge the majority of the attack. She turned and shot to the side in an attempt to move out of the way. But the Psychic attack disappeared from view soon after it's launch and she couldn't follow where it was flowing to very well. She kept moving but in the end, she only managed to avoid some of the attack, to where she took almost full damage. So far, the battle was not going in her favor. Xatu had a little bit of damage, but Jennifer's health was already going down way too fast. At this rate, she was going to be at the half way mark of her energy long before Xatu was.
If he thought that was the end of her, however, he was badly mistaken. Jennifer picked herself off of the ground and gave herself a shake, proving that she could take a hit or two if the situation called for it. Now that he was on the ground again, another chance appeared, and she had to take it with as little thought as possible. Jennifer shot out at the Xatu almost like a bullet, so that the naked eye could only see a bluf, thanks to her increased speed. When she got close to him, she attempted to hit him with a powerful Slam attack.

The Xatu took a fair amount of amusement in Jennifer's rapid rise and fall of relief. Only better was the fact that his Psychic attack had hit so perfectly. The instant it hit he knew that it had not taken her out as quickly as one might have wished, but nevertheless, it did do a decent amount of damage to the small serpentine Pokemon.
Another of his infamous chuckles reverberated throughout the small cavern. "Now, now, you know there is no fooling me, little Dratini. While you hide behind that facade of bravery and health, I know the damage that has been dealt to you. Give up now, and I might take pity on you as well as your friends. I cannot blame one for accepting their fate. I have seen what there is to see. Little Dratini, I know of your fate, as well as the result of your goal. There is no escaping it." Whether the Pokemon meant success or failure, it was impossible to tell. There was nothing but his wise eyes of unimaginable years and otherwise blank expression.
Even before Jennifer had started slithering with her increased speed, the knowledge of what her next move would be was already in the Xatu's mind. "Not so fast, little Dratini. Slow and steady wins the race. Unfortunately, neither win in your situation." With his ability to use Me First, the Mystic Pokemon lifted himself a few centimeters off of the ground, ready to use a Slam attack of his own. He raced forward, gliding only slightly above the ground, with the wind as his ally. When Jennifer had come close, he was ready to meet her.

Unfortunately for Jennifer, charging at the Xatu was proving to be a strategy that never worked. Yet at the same time if she didn't try to land a few physical attacks, along with being fast and spontaneous with them, but not enough to where she lacked thought completely, there was no way she was going to be able to cause enough damage. Slam was already a powerful physical attack, but Me First allowed Xatu to use that attack with more power. If something wasn't done, he was going to take out a large chunk of Jennifer's health. At the moment, the only thing Jennifer could really do was to keep going with her attack. If they collided, it would still cause less damage then if she just took the full blow without doing anything about it.
A thought occurred to Jennifer as she approached Xatu. She had to hope that they were both going too fast that he either wouldn't be able to read her mind in time, or that he wouldn't be able to change his course of action. A small crackle of electricity started to flow around her. It was faint, hardly noticeable, but flowing all around her by the time she and Xatu collided with their Slam attacks. The electricity was a Thunder Wave attack used at close range in combination with her Slam. This was in order to dramatically increase accuracy. In other words, the Slam had hit, and she had to hope that it carried the Thunder Wave with it and onto Xatu.
"Urgh..." Jennifer sighed to herself quietly as she slid back from the collision. The damage from Xatu's attack was reduced, but she couldn't go on reducing the damage forever. She had to start dodging more and landing attacks, or it was going to be over very soon. Jennifer looked up to check Xatu's condition and to ready herself for his next attack.

As soon as the thought entered Jennifer's mind, it entered the Xatu's. He narrowed his eyes, seeing as there was little more he could do at that point. His momentum was too great, inertia would prevent him from evading the combo. The only option he had was damaging his opponent as much as he could. He pulled his wings more to the side, allowing only the Tailwind to carry him. Without his wings adding air resistance, he was able to put even more speed, and therefore power, into his Slam.
The collision itself was a mere discomfort, not strong enough to be considered pain. The shock that came after, although it was completely painless, had an even greater effect on him. The electrical charges travelled straight to his nerves, then carried throughout his whole body. Moving a single limb felt was as if he were moving lead. And that was only if he was able to will himself into moving. He folded his wings to his side, landing lightly on the ground. Tilting his head, he allowed a smirk to play on his face as he stated, "Little Dratini, you wish me not to move? Then let it be so. We shall see if it gives you any benefit in the end."
Once more, Jennifer had the benefit in Speed. However, the Xatu wasn't going to let her slide with so many stat advantages over himself. A Power Swap was all he needed. It required no movement and had not even the slightest chance of missing its target. While nothing was visible as a result of the technique, a number of Pokemon were nonetheless able to feel its effects. The more oblivious ones, however, couldn't detect a thing.
Suddenly, a barely audible sound came from outside the cavern. Whether it was imagined or not, it was difficult for one to discern. However, if one inspected the Xatu thoroughly, slight changes might be visible. He was much more stiff, not as relaxed, as if every muscle in his body had tensed. Other than that, nothing about him changed. His expression remained the same, even his eyes showed no clues.
