Marduk couldn't help himself. A small smile appeared at the corner of his lips when the Machop revealed exactly what he was asking for. He had to admire the little Machop on top of feeling a small amount of flattery. He wasn't usually the type of person who cared about applause or accolades, but for some reason, hearing such a thing from a single Pokémon amidst all of this trouble was somewhat refreshing. Especially after their encounter with Gant and his group of bounty hunter friends.
Apparently, the Machop was enjoying their conversation quite a bit, as he continued all the way until the elevator made its next stop at the third floor. Marduk began to step out of the elevator. But just before he followed the rest of his group, he paused and looked back at the Machop, standing between in the doorway. "Thank you for the encouragement, and I'm sorry that I could not meet your hopes and expectations." he said to the smaller Pokémon. "Tell me, what's your name?"
Once it was time to leave the elevator, Jet stepped outside of it right behind Neeva. "Oh, that sounds like it could be fun," he commented, taking a look at the new room that they found themselves in. According to the Solosis, the three different pathways went to Intensive Care, the Research Center and some kind of "Diagnosis" area. Thanks to the labels on the walls, though, it was relatively easy to figure out which way was which.
"S-so, um...which one will we be going to first?" he asked trying to keep the conversation going as much as he could. Boy...this was certainly not his strong suit....

"Well, the Research wing is probably the most eventful part of this floor. Maybe we should end with that one. So let's start with the Diagnosis rooms. There's not much to cover there anyway." Neeva began to float over to the unlabeled hallway, encouraging the tour to follow her.
Listening to this tour guide made the Machop realize how little he really knew about this hospital. And it wasn't every day you bumped into someone like Marduk. He began to wonder if there was any way he could afford to join them on the tour. Even just for a little while. It's not like he was on a tight schedule or anything. He just needed to meet with someone, but surely this tour would be going through the second floor at some point anyway. Maybe he could afford to just... go along. Or maybe that was a dumb idea. He wasn't sure.
"Oh, I can't believe I never introduced myself! I'm..."

"Alphonso! But you can call me Alph."
The Machop gestured to himself with a hint of pride as he spoke. He had to make himself look good in front of his idol, of course. Would he have been able to keep up with the other fighters in that tournament? Probably not, but he at least had as much confidence. And you don't have to be tough to look good as long as you have a lot of confidence. Right? ...right...?
"I'm not super busy - you don't mind if I tag along, do you?" Alph asked Marduk. "Of course you don't!" He began to fall in line next to the Zangoose, placing his hands comfortably behind his own head.
The apparent addition of a new Pokemon to their group was enough to snap Bob back to reality. He looked up at this Machop, who had been little more than a background element a few seconds ago. "What are we, a traveling band of circus magicians?" Bob asked aloud. "We can't just pick up strays at a hospital..." He looked back at Jet for confirmation of his opinion.

Marduk watched the Machop introduce himself and couldn't help but enjoy observing the pride that he tried to carry himself with. On top of that, the Machop seemed to be a bit of a fan of his. Truth be told, he had never me a Pokémon like this; one who actually looked up to him. It was definitely not something he had expected to come across, let alone during this whole Diamond search. Especially considering the fact that he and his friends all had large bounties on their heads, with his being the highest of the group.
When the Machop invited himself along, Marduk had no objections. They didn't seem to be in any real trouble right now and the addition of another member of the tour might make them stand out a little bit less. But at the first sign of trouble, he would have to remember to get him away from here first. The last thing he needed was for this guy to get involved in a high-level fight like theirs.
"...Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Alph," Marduk continued once he knew the Machop's name. "However, it is very important to know something when it comes to battles." He cast a quick look back at his apparent fan. "A fight is a fight. You either win or you lose. There are no excuses. If you are defeated, you must admit to yourself that you were either weaker or less skilled than your opponent and sometimes both. Sometimes, there is nothing more important than the end result." He put his own claws behind his back, following the tour mindlessly while he talked to their new follower. He didn't even take note of where they were going. "I thank you for your thoughts on my battle with Vito; they're very flattering. But Vito defeated me because he was more skilled than I was. His tactics were just as valid as any other. Remember that a warrior grows from a vital defeat more than from a vital victory. If I used his tactics as an excuse for my loss rather than accepting it, I would not grow as a warrior."
At that, he turned his gaze back to the Machop again. "Do you understand what I am saying?" he asked him.
Meanwhile, the Buizel was nodding to Neeva, seeming just as interested in the tour as anything else. "O-oh, y-yes, that seems like a good idea," he replied, stepping into place behind her. He glanced backward, noting that they now had an extra follower...and he heard Bob's not-so-subtle remark.
Jet looked back at the Machop again. "W-well, to be fair, he's not hurting anything right now," he murmured softly to Bob as they started down the new wing. Turning his attention back to the Linoone, he added, "We can figure it out later. Besides, I bet he's a better fighter than I am. So if something does go wrong, he might be able to help."

Neeva spun around as she lead the group to the hallway where the rooms containing diagnosis equipment were found. "I'd like to remind all members of the tour at this time that battles are NOT permitted inside the hospital, thank you!"
I'd hate to think Dee may have been right about these guys, but they sure do like talking about fighting. Best to be prepared for anything, I guess.
Dee turned back around and resumed floating down the hallway, pointing out the rooms filled with all kinds of complicated equipment. There were a few scanning machines of different kinds, some kind of doodad with wires sticking out everywhere that Neeva admitted she didn't have the slightest clue how it was supposed to be used, and another monolith of a machine that appeared to be running as it was making very loud noises every few seconds.
Then there were rooms that seemed easier to understand: one with a treadmill and maybe an EKG nearby, and a ward with beds in it that looked like it was used for sleep studies.
"Like most strange phenomena, this hospitals recoveries do have its fair share of skeptics." Neeva started as they reached the end of the hall and began heading back toward the floors lobby, "One of the most common 'explanations' of some of our cases is that our patients have been misdiagnosed: we said they had something serious, when in reality whatever was wrong with them was relatively mild and would have been resolved on its own. But we ensure that doesn't happen by testing our equipment at three times the rate recommended by the DOH."
