((Merely a continuation of this thread here)) As Cutler and Liana were making their way down the hallway, Cutler heard Liana's question about books to read and smiled a bit. He remembered what she had done upon entering Dr. Odin's study. She had gone right up towards the books and starting looking them over. She was quite a curious little Celebi.... He himself had never been much of a reader, but he knew the quality of a good book every now and then. Unfortunately, he never really found many books that kept his interest. Upon hearing Tye's response that all they had were romantic novels, he shrugged inwardly. They didn't really interest him anyway. Maybe tonight, before going to sleep, he could ask Liana what kind of books she liked to read. Maybe get to know her a bit more. When they were introduced to the room, Cutler looked around. Hm...well, it still didn't exactly seem Fire Friendly, but it seemed fine. He just had to make sure that he slept on the outside, carefully hanging his tail so that it wouldn't burn anything while he slept. He wasn't sure he was going to be comfortable tonight, but at least he had some shelter. As he watched Tye do his somersault, he chuckled a bit. "You're just full of energy. You're definitely the Tye I remember. Impressive move, by the way. I could never hope to do that." When Tye asked if they needed anything else, Cutler thought for a moment before shaking his head. "No, I don't think so. Unless you need something, Liana?" He looked over at the Celebi to see what her answer would be.

Liana looked around, curious. "Well, it doesn't seem like my Papa's in here, so I don't think I particular need anything else in here." But there was a look on her face that showed that she may well not have needed anything, but there was something she wanted. "I don't suppose your parents would let me borrow one of those novels? I don't know really know much about romance, it'd be fascinating..." Liana had meant the question innocently, never really thinking it could be construed somewhat awkwardly. The innocent smile on her face would make it almost impossible for anyone with a heart to deny her a request, no matter how silly it was at this point.
An evil little voice in her mind noted that with that smile she was sure she could even make Cutler stand on his head. Perhaps she got that from her papa - it would be interesting to keep in mind, anyway.

Tye beamed. "Haha, thanks!" he said to Cutler. "I like to practice acrobatics. Me and a friend race through the trees in the field every now and then, but she always beats me. But one day, I'll win! And I can't wait to see the look on her face when I do." Liana's question snapped him out of his smugly determined tone. "Oh, yeah, I'm pretty sure she won't mind, I'll go ask." He scampered out of the guest room.
A minute or so later, he returned holding a rather thin cyan book. He handed it to the Celebi. "Here you go," said Tye. "My mom said this was the perfect book for someone your age. She keeps trying to get me to read it, too." The book cover had a very relaxed pastel drawing of a cloud-filled sky in which a Swablu is sitting on a cloud with its back to the frame, watching another Swablu flying about. It was a book called "Head in the Clouds". "Anyway, I'm gonna go ahead and get in bed," said Tye after a yawn. "I gotta get plenty of rest if I want to keep my energy up! If you need me, I'm right across the hall." He walked backwards out of the room as he was saying this, and passed through a door on the opposite side.

Cutler nodded. "Heh...to think somebody could beat you in a race like that.... Well, I'm sure you'll win eventually." he said with another smile. "Practicing acrobatics seems like it would be fun for somebody like you.... If I tried it, I'm sure I'd just fall flat on my face. Heheh...." He rubbed the back of his head nervously, but when he left and brought back a book for Liana, he smiled again. He had never heard or seen the book before, but it did look like an innocent enough novel for somebody of her apparent age.
"Alright then, Tye...guess I'll see you soon enough." he said when his friend told him that he was going to be in the room opposite him. "I don't think I'll need anything though...unless that monster decides to show himself again.... Heheh...." his rather lame joke done, he turned around to face Liana again. "I guess we should get some rest, too.... If we're going to go search for your Papa, then we'll probably need all the rest we can get." He moved toward the bed that Tye had pointed out for him and crawled into it...still wary of his tail. "Though I guess you staying up for a while to read wouldn't be a bad thing."

Liana, by this point, had stopped paying attention to Cutler. She had slowly floated down to the floor and already started reading the book, her head far up in the clouds with the mysterious two Swablu, the visions already playing in her head of the two dancing among the skies...Liana wondered how it would feel to fly as high as they did.
Of course, as a Celebi she knew that she belonged to the land, so she didn't think anything like that would happen anytime soon. Still, it looked like it would have been fun - she wondered what might have happened if she had cotton wings like the ones in the story - well, they probably weren't cotton but they looked it and that was all that was important.
Still, it had been a long day and, after panicking over losing her Papa, it wasn't very long before she was out like a light and sleeping peacefully, barely making a sound as she fell right asleep where she was. Her last thought before sleep took over was her wondering if she would dream...

The night was peaceful and quiet; there were no late commotions in the streets or barking dogs or anything of the sort (as the idea of pets was completely unheard of in this world anyway). There was perhaps a bit of shuffling around at one point in the night, but just enough to question whether or not it actually happened. If anyone heard it to begin with. And so sunrise came, the beams shining through the window and onto the bed occupied by Cutler and Liana, and shortly afterward there was a knock on the door of the guest bedroom.
"Hey guys!" chirped a familiar voice from the hall. "Good morning, breakfast is ready in the kitchen!" The sound of rapid-fire footsteps going out of the hall followed; he must've been eager to get at the food. A delectable scent drifted into the room. Any breakfast enthusiast would've been able to identify it as pancakes. Plenty of syrup, too. There was even a hint of berry to it - particularly a sweet kind of berry. Finally, there was the lingering smell of burning wood - though that was probably because of the small fire that had recently started on the floor near Cutler's side of the bed.

Cutler had been awake for quite a while now. As somebody who had grown up doing a lot of morning work, he had developed a habit of waking up early in the morning, sometimes even before the sun even showed itself on the horizon. He had actually been about to climb out of bed and get to work...when he noticed his hands and realized he was still a Charmander. He sighed in an almost depressed fashion. He had been secretly hoping that it had all been a dream. But no, that wasn't the case it seemed. Well, at least he was surrounded by people he could call friends.
He had been about to get up to go wandering the city...but when he saw Liana sleeping so peacefully, book in her grip, he stopped. He couldn't help but smile and just sort of...watch her for a while. She just looked so cute and peaceful...he couldn't help himself. When Tye burst into the room he had jumped and looked up. Before he could respond, he was already gone. He sighed and finally got out of bed...and then he noticed the small fire. "WAH!" he cried out, taken aback. Had that been his tail's doing? He stamped on the fire with his foot over and over again.... Thankfully it was still a small little fire and shouldn't take much effort to put out. He was just glad that he noticed it in time.

((Short post is short.))
Being a grass-type Pokemon - and a pokemon of the land, of nature, of earth, etc. you'd think Liana would have noticed a fire nearby.
Thankfully, for Cutler's sake, Liana was completely out of it, still dreaming whatever it was she dreamed in her head. She hadn't even heard Tye say anything or heard Cutler's ruckus. Liana was completely out of it. Honestly, it looked like she needed the rest after the rather chaotic morning she'd had.
There'd be time for breakfast later. Or lunch. Or some sort of spiritual symbosis with nature that would sustain her for a while. It didn't seem like she was going to wake up short of being physically jolted awake anytime soon, but hopefully no-one would kidnap her or nothing strange would happen.

As Cutler stomped on it, the fire extinguished with little difficulty. The smoke started to slowly clear up from the room, but there was a dark mark on the floor now where the wood burned. The fire must've been recent, considering how little it had grown despite being surrounded from all directions by fuel. But, the crisis was averted, and no real harm was done.
Right on cue, Tye's mother rushed into the room just in time to catch the last of the smoke dissipating. She looked down and saw the scorch mark. "Oh my..." she exclaimed, her expression nothing like the one she had first greeted them with. "Looks like you had a little accident... we don't have a lot of Fire-types over, mostly because they aren't so common around here, so I was worried something like this would happen..." She continued talking as she entered the hall for a brief moment, fetched a broom from the closet, and returned. "I didn't want to say anything though, because I'm not one to discriminate..." She swept the floor habitually, getting the ashes out of the kindle and into a small pile in the open. "Anyway, I'll take care of it, don't worry. Just go help yourselves to some pancakes." She kneeled down next to the damaged area; there'd be no way to get that spot out short of replacing the floor. "Oh dear, oh dear..." she muttered to herself as she tried to clean up as best as she could.

Cutler looked down at the scorch mark he'd left. Oh, how horrible he felt about it. How could he have been so idiotic as to let his tail set the floor on fire? It must have been while he was looking at Liana as she slept. How could he have not noticed? He hoped Tye didn't think any less of him after that.... But even worse than that. Tye's mother popped into the room at the perfectly wrong moment. Her words only served to deepen his canyon of guilt that was starting to form. Sure, nothing serious had been done, but...even something that small could be expensive. Maybe he should help his friends' family somehow...? He could pay to have somebody come fix the floor, perhaps. But no, he didn't have the money for that. He was still new to the Dimension and hadn't had time to work up any finances.
Cutler was about to protest what Tye's mother had said, but decided it was best to just do what she said. This pretty much settled it. He was lucky this time. But what if he didn't catch it next time? He could end up burning his friend's house to the ground! They had to leave as soon as possible. He had no idea what he would do if he accidently did something of that magnitude. After breakfast, they would leave. Whether Tye was coming with them or not...he had to go. With Liana, he supposed. He looked over at the sleeping Liana...and sure, he would have loved to let her sleep. but as he had just deduced...they had to go as soon as breakfast was finished.
So, he reached down to the smaller Pokemon and tried to lift her into his arms and walk out of the room. He looked back at Tye's mother and mumbled an apology before leaving, gently trying to shake Liana awake. He would explain to her that they were leaving when she awoke. But for now...he headed toward the kitchen and where the pancakes, and probably Tye, would be. He planned to sit down, eat quickly, and then get up to go.

Liana mumbled something unintelligible as she was slowly awoken by the shaking Charmander. One might have wondered if it was a good idea for a fire-type to attempt to wake up a grass-type Pokemon by shaking her, but fortunately, she avoided being caught on fire.
"Huh...whuzzat...?" She woke up to see a Charmander shaking her. And without any thought to the above, mumbled, "Ohai Cutler..." before floating upwards sleepily. There was something mentioned about breakfast, wasn't there? And Cutler seemed a slight bit frazzled, but it wasn't like it really mattered. "After all," Liana thought, "What's the worst that could possibly have happened?"
There was something delicious coming from the kitchen, and Liana looked at them curiously, trying to figure out what they were - she'd never seen pancakes before. If anything they looked like...giant...bready...things. Liana scratched her head, shrugged, and then remembered she was in someone's house and said "Good morning!" cheerfully to both Tye and his mother before sitting down again at the table.

When Cutler and Liana entered the kitchen, the table had already been set for them - one chair and one stool, each in front of a plate of two or three pancakes, smothered in syrup, silverware to the right of the plate and a glass of milk each to top it off. Tye sat at a third chair, already halfway done with his pancakes. He saw his friends enter the room and waved. "Morning!" he greeted. "I went ahead and fixed your plates because it was taking you guys a while." One could tell he was trying not to bring up the incident, even though it's difficult to ignore something like that.
"Go ahead, take a seat," the Pachirisu invited. He returned to eating his pancakes enthusiastically, and rather sloppily, definitely enjoying them. They were well-made too; Tye's mother was no stranger to cooking for guests. The consistency was near perfect, and it had even cooled to just the right temperature. "I've gotta say," said Tye between mouthfuls, "I always look forward to having company over because my mom always cooks extra good for them!"

Cutler forced a smile at Tye. "Th-thanks...." he said, half-heartedly. He just couldn't get his mind off of what had almost happened. Now his mind was focused solely on leaving. He hoped he'd be able to get Tye to come with him...having such a friend along would really help him out. Maybe if he told his parents about how he had been defeated by this Pachirisu, they might let him go. That is, if they hadn't already decided to let him go with him and Liana. He held back a sigh and looked around the room to take it in really quickly...and then he focused his attention, once more, on the plates and pancakes waiting for him.
Cutler went to obey the Pachirisu's suggestion, but he stopped himself, his mind still focused on the incident when he had gone to sleep. "...No thanks." he said with another forced smile. "I'm fine standing...." He looked over at the plate and moved the chair out of the way so he could get to it without fear of igniting anything in this very valuable and flammable house. He began to eat, keeping his gaze low. It was pretty obvious how guilty he felt about it. It was practically written all over his face.
