The complained about every little detail in their pathetic lives. So there was a thief, what did they expect? They were in a lab, with inventions. Of course someone would set their eyes on such treasures. The thief might have gotten away, not like it was much of a surprise, but that was the cruelty of life. If Sora had cared and bothered to help more than she did, she was certain that she could have stopped the thief. Although that would've required effort, and she knew it, she didn't like using energy. Especially when it didn't benefit her in any way. Even then, she didn't owe those nuisances any favors. The Buizel was nothing but annoying, and only got in her way. The Furret, who also seemed to be a Scyther at times, seemed to think that his only purpose in live was to take a saw to Sora's nerve. Lastly, and definitely least, was that Arceus-forsaken professor. How others admired him, the Absol hadn't a clue. He was absolutely worthless, that she was certain of. He did nothing of use the entire time he was in Sora's presence. It made her sick. That trio wasn't worthy of her help. If they didn't have anything to offer for her, she had nothing to offer for them. That, indeed, was a fact.
Due to such circumstances, the Absol had no other option than to escape. She had headed to her makeshift shelter far earlier than the others, giving herself ample time to rest up. It was a smart decision on her behalf. Sora had healed up almost entirely with a few hours of rest. After she had awoken, the others were already asleep. She made her escape easily, without a flaw. It's not like she expected the others to be listening out for trouble. They were too Dependant for something like that. They must have been relying on Sora for protection, that was the only valid reason. In her mind, she noted, they must have finally realized her far superiority. They must have thought they were safe and secure in her powerful presence, and rightfully so. Unfortunately for them, they didn't have someone to protect them any longer. Sora couldn't say that she cared whether or not trouble encountered them. Rather, she wouldn't be unhappy if a sudden, ah, misfortune happened to befell them. Hopefully it would be a severe injury, or even a death. If it were that "Tanen" being, Sora would certainly be satisfied for the day.
The Absol shook her head gently, gray fur falling in front of her eyes as it shifted position with the movement of her headpiece. She had to focus on the present, now, as well as her future. For the first time since entering this strange place, she was by her lonesome for more than just a few moments. Sora did like it better in this fashion, though she had to admit that she was at a loss as to where to head next. It wasn't much of a problem for her at the given moment, though. There wasn't any task at the given moment that required to be completed. It was merely her against the world, as it had been for the majority of her life. With the Porygon's Lab behind her, she set off once more. Perhaps this time she would find something of use, and not some weak Pokemon. Sora snorted at the thought. She could only hope. As for now, she would walk in this random direction through the innumerable trees. Trouble would find her soon enough, she knew; it had a nasty habit of running into and staying with her.

The forest was moderately lively at this time of day, as Pokemon went to and fro going about their business. Most of them ignored Sora or only gave her a passing glance, and they all respected her space as the general assumption was that she was either in a bad mood, or just one of those Pokemon that nobody should mess with. And they were wise in doing so. But as Sora went onward, the density of Pokemon traffic appeared to thin out a bit, and most of the individuals in Sora's range of vision were moving away from a particular area, some of them faster than others. Eventually, up ahead, the probable cause of all this could be heard.
"Hey man... come on now, I was just kidding, heh... I kid a lot... I didn't mean anything by it..." The rather youthful voice was accompanied by nervous laughter.
"A proper comedian knows where the line is and how not to cross it," replied a firm yet collected voice. "By insulting me, you have also insulted everyone worthier than yourself, and from what I gathered of you thus far, that is a sizable lot. Such an action against such a number merits severe punishment."
The voices were coming from a small clearing behind a clump of shrubbery. Inside the clearing were a Timburr, clutching his large stick of lumber diagonally and close to his body. But a chunk of wood would fare poorly against the weapon wielded by the other Pokemon, a Dewott - a sword, roughly 2 feet long, with a decorated hilt of orange and purple. The Dewott pointed the sword at the Timburr, who was backing away slowly. A Dewott on its own, the way this one was behaving, would intimidate a myriad of Pokemon already, but the blade he possessed would account for the lack of spectators and mediators. Serious harm was imminent for the Timburr. It was only a matter of time before the slaughter began.

She hadn't even noticed the majority of the Pokemon she was passing. It wasn't as if she thought that they were worthy enought to receive even a fraction of her thoughts. However, it was when the general movement of the Pokemon changed that Sora started to become intrigued. Whenever Pokemon were fleeing, they were fleeing from her. Not that it mattered to her. She couldn't care less about the problems of these petty Pokemon.
As Sora continued walking, the issue seemed almost thrust upon her. She began to hear voices, and she could tell that they were close. She didn't want to become involved in the issue, but she figured that she might as well quell her curiousity. With a brief scan of her surroundings, it didn't take her long to spot the source. On her left, there happened to be a clearing, though the shrubbery between it and her had prevented her immediate discovery of it. Standing there were two Pokemon that she had never seen before, even in her human life. While their words passed right over her head, something did catch her attention. A sword with an orange and purple hilt. How curious. It didn't look like it belonged with the Pokemon who wielded it. It must have picked it up somewhere.
A sudden thought struck the Absol. Purple and orange... That was the same color scheme as the pill she had taken. The pill that gave her the form of a Totodile. While she loathed such a creature, the item itself still seemed to be powerful. Sora couldn't help but believe the two were connected. If she could get her paws on a powerful sword... That would be quite wonderful indeed.
She thrust herself through the shrubbery and into the edge of the clearing. Sora cleared her throat, demanding in quite a loud voice, "Hey, you. The blue one. Give me that sword, immediately." She was growling now, her teeth bared. She was quick to take on an offensive position, trying to threaten her target, as well as be ready to pounce if he refused. [/scrolly]

The Timburr continued backing away from the Dewott until he bumped into a tree. There was no escape for him now, as the furious soldier drew nearer. His last prayer was for the Dewott to end him quickly, though he certainly didn't look in the mood to be merciful... but to his surprise, someone decided to step in and interrupt. He had figured that everyone who knew what was going on would flee for fear of their own lives, but then this Absol appeared... who seemed to be after the Dewott's sword. Which was fine for him; perhaps it would be enough of a distraction for him to slip past unnoticed...
As for the Dewott, he didn't seem intimidated in the slightest by Sora. He simply laughed. "Now THIS is a true comedian," he chuckled, talking mostly to the Timburr. "As if a creature of her stature and class could possibly even swing such a blade!" He turned to Sora, meeting her glare with a straight holier-than-thou expression. "Your peasant eyes are hardly suited for looking upon its glory. Go now before I gouge them straight out of their sockets." Obviously unthreatened, he turned back to his original victim. "Perhaps this will be a valuable lesson to you in your next life."

She had barely even noticed that he was the Dewott's target. She didn't have much of a preference whether or not he was attacked and injured. The only matter on her mind was that sword, and she would get it at any cost. If that little Pokemon was killed in the process, it all didn't really make a difference. As long as he didn't get in the way.
The Absol was unphased by the odd blue Pokemon's laughter. She even got a few chuckles of her own in after he spoke. "What are you," she asked, amusement apparent in her voice, "a knight? Let me tell you, weakling, knights in shining armor don't exist. Might as well quit now while you have the chance." Sora took a few more steps forward, making her conspicuous among the sparse crowd, if she hadn't been earlier. Her ego refused to let her believe that this Pokemon might be stronger than herself. No being was more powerful than Sora, whether she's human or Absol.
She held her gaze against her target, her eyes cold and otherwise emotionless. Sora wasn't affected by his expression; she was easily a foot taller than him, and took that as a reason to once again reveal her superiority."If you knew your place in this situation, you would immediately be silent. I think I'll be the one doing the gouging here. Now, be smart about this. You can drop the weapon now, or you could die and the weapon would still be in my possession. Both work, really."
When her opponent turned his gaze, a vicious snarl escaped from her throat. "Foolish little creature, no one turns their back to me!" She tensed her muscles before dashing forward. Speed was quickly added to her chase as she used a Quick Attack, hoping to ram right into the back of her opponent. [/scrolly]

The Dewott chuckled again to himself as he heard the Absol's final words before charging at him. He stayed with his back turned, his head rotated just enough that he could watch her approach, and just as Sora got within range, he pivoted on one foot and met the attack with his sword, parrying it effectively. Immediately, he transitioned into a quick diagonal broad slice, more for knock-back than damage; one could tell he was holding back a bit, going through the motions to show what he could have done. He then followed up with a Water Pulse, aiming to stun and/or confuse her. "Count your blessings, wench," snapped the Dewott, "and flee while the chance remains, for seldom does one survive who has crossed Lucus Alvar!"
Meanwhile, the Timburr had been slowly slipping away the moment Lucus swung away from him, and during the smug banter, he made a break for it. Lucus turned around again just in time to see his grayish form disappear into the bushes. "Him, on the other hand..." he muttered mostly to himself, "He already took it too far." He clutched the hilt of the sword in front of him with both hands, blasting after the Timburr with a blade-assisted Aqua Jet. Sora was now alone in the clearing.

She tilted her head ever so slightly, so that when he moved his sword, it struck against the scythe on her head, rather than the alternative of her head itself. The two weapons clashed, but Sora was the unfortunate one who lost her tight grip on the ground. Her sharpened claws scored the earth as she slid backward a couple of inches. When her opponent went for the transitional attack, it once again struck her countering weapon. She slid back even further, putting a distance of a foot in between the two. However, this only pleased the Absol. Her thoughts were confirmed; the weapon that this Pokemon wielded was quite powerful, indeed.
In the next moment, a torrent of water was headed for Sora. She leaped to the side, trying to dodge the oncoming attack, but was a moment too slow. The water hit the lower half of her body, resulting in a rather clumsy landing. While the attack hadn't been head-on, allowing her to evade confusion for the time being, it had given the Dewott a decent amount of time. She rose quickly to her four paws, though her target had already fled the scene. The Absol spat a response in a mocking tone, though not a soul was around to hear, "Seldom does one survive who has crossed Sora." She slowly shook her head, disgust apparent in her expression. No other thoughts were on her mind but the one relevant to taking down that Dewott.
Sora growled, dashing in the direction that the contained both the scent of her target and the barely noticeable rustling of leaves. She wasn't going to let her prize escape this easily. A thin aura of darkness surrounded her body as she continued to rush forward. She had already prepared her Pursuit attack, headed in her estimated location of the target. [/scrolly]

As Sora attempted to pursue her target, there was a distinct lack of both swordsman and victim for a long while. Both of them must have been fairly fast, but after a while the answer to who the fastest was became clear - the Timburr lay face down in the grass, unconscious and quite possibly dead. His wooden log had settled a good ten feet from his final resting place. But the Dewott was nowhere to be found.
Until there was a slight thud behind Sora. Lucas had leaped out of a tree, apparently anticipating her arrival. "So you have decided to chase me here..." announced Lucas. "It's a shame such bravery and willpower must be wasted on a commoner. Very well then, I will give you a fair duel. If you believe that you are worthy of this blade... then prove yourself!"
Drawing one of his shells in his left hand, and his sword at the ready in his right, he lunged at Sora, throwing a flurry of sword slashes and Razor Shell attacks with alarming speed. Dewott were naturally adept at duel-wielding shells, and the only exception in Lucus was the substitution of a proper sword. The strikes were swift and dangerous as he sought out an opening to take advantage of.

There wasn't a sign of her target or his prey anywhere. The dark aura surrounding her lasted only moments longer before dispersing into the forest atmosphere. Her Pursuit attack had already worn off, and she still seemed no closer to the Dewott. The Absol slowed to a stop, having to regain her breath after dashing off so quickly. She bared her teeth in frustration, a growl ripping from deep within her throat. She slashed at a nearby tree to release pented anger, leaving long scores in the bark. Sora had to get that sword for herself, even if she would have a bit of trouble wielding it. She would find herself a way to adapt. Nothing would stop her from gaining more power. Even if she had tp rip it from his lifeless paws...
The Absol thrusted herself forward, trying to keep watch on as much of the surrounding scenery as she could. Long moments later, she finally found something. And object in her peripheral vision caused her to slow to a stop. A body. Turning her gaze, she noted that it was the target of her own target. How pitiful, he seemed to have lost. It had as little impact as was possible on Sora. That merely meant he was weak. She wouldn't be the same however. She was strong, she could take down this enemy easily.
The thud sounding behind Sora cause her to shift her icy gaze, until the Dewott was in her foveal vision once more. Entirely ignoring his meaningless words, the Absol spoke greedily, "I finally found my prey. You kept me waiting far too long. It's about time that sword belonged in my possession. I will cause you pain until you beg me to stop, and even then I will continue until you are physically unable to hold that weapon. Prepare yourself!"
Sora parried the slashed with the scythe on her head. She was successful for the first few strikes, but it wasn't long until it became harder for her to keep up. After a slash across the side of her face, the Absol realized it was time to end such foolish fighting. She threw her head back, her weapon glowing with a writhing dark aura. The scythe came slashing down with the added power of Night Slash. If Sora's intentions followed through, she would be able to both deal damage as well as knock him back from his seemingly favored preference of attacking. [/scrolly]

Lucus had managed to keep Sora from attacking for a while through sheer force, and he managed to break past her defenses and score a few hits, but overall she remained fairly competent. Which wasn't a surprise, though it would make this duel all the more fun. What did come as a surprise was the Absol slicing forward with a Night Slash. And perhaps due to overconfidence on the Dewott's part, the attack connected with little difficulty - though Lucus hurriedly put up his shell to block, it was too little too late, and he was struck across his arm and ribs.
He reeled a little, but his constitution was high enough for him to recover in a timely manner. A vengeful look on his face, he sprung forward for a rancor-driven retaliation, directing his aim towards the left side of her torso; given the asymmetrical build of an Absol, this side would require more reach of the scythe-horn and therefore would be harder to block or intercept. This Revenge attack would be very decisive if it connected, its power increasing from his recent wound and the type effectiveness. All of the prior calculations were made within a fraction of a second, occurring almost naturally as it would to a true hardened warrior such as what he claimed to be.

Of course it would be difficult for any inferior being to triumph over herself. If he had avoided it, it would only be luck on his part. What a pity that he chose to challenge her instead of merely offering the sword up. Such an easy win this would be, indeed. That weapon would certainly be her's, and in much less time than she had previously thought.
Caught up in her own ego and self-confidence, the Absol hadn't seen her opponent's attack coming. Her brain reeled as she assessed the urgent situation. She hadn't enough time to block it, due to him coming on her weaker side. Her only option was to dodge or deflect the attack by some other means. Instinctively, the new Absol side of her chose to resort to Detect. This attack often came to her without any conscious thought of her own, awakened by sudden strikes like these. Sora had to admit that it was helpful, even though she would never say aloud that she would ever need to rely on such a move. There was a great chance that the technique would fail her if she tried to use it once more, however she was certain that she would not slip up again. This was only a mere lucky shot for her opponent, and she would not let him get this opportunity again. [/scrolly]

The Dewott was fairly confident about his attack, but when his blade caught nothing but air, he was certainly befuddled. One glance at his opponent told him that she had just used Detect. Normally, this sort of evasive move would throw off a fighter, leaving them wide open, but Lucus was no normal fighter. He saw the Detect not as an obstacle, but as an opportunity. The nature of the move prevented it from working one hundred percent of the time when used several times in succession. So Lucus would have to force this fatal risk upon her. He called for an Encore, dooming her to this fate.
Reassured that this would prevent Sora from making any kind of offensive moves for a while, the Dewott held up his sword and began to draw energy from it. The blade glowed white, spreading throughout Lucus's body gradually. This appeared to be some advanced form of Swords Dance, and as he ended his charge, swinging the sword back, a persistent white aura surrounded him and his two weapons. He then blasted at his opponent in an Aqua Jet, knowing he'd have a decent chance of striking through. He held back his sword and slashed at her as he approached, making it a sort of aqua joust.
