< OOC;; This thread is a continuation of a previous thread that is simply being continued onto the new site. > Raze's ear twitched at the other Zangoose's comment, as he rushed to meet his opponent in a close-range battle of claws and of skills. More idle chatter, pretentious words as of yet unproven, unable to prove merely through words. The action's the thing. In these moments drawn from time, stretching as seconds sometimes can like thick rubber bands that go on and on but eventually reach their unyielding end, Raze saw his enemy raise not one claw, but two. Endless possibilities. One outcome. Then Raze barreled into the nameless Zangoose, and from all of the possibilities he saw in his mind, one decision was plucked. And once more, from it, endless possibilities. But there would only be one outcome. Raze's claws were both raised, as his opponent's were, mirror fighters in a dim world of stone. With the one, as he had anticipated, he blocked his enemy's striking arm. The other dove to the ground, pressed against it, muscles straining underneath dusted white fur. A split-second passed of nothing, then Raze pushed, launching himself up, directly over the head of his opponent. He hung there for a moment, as if gravity was weighing the moments and wondering when was a good time to let him down, but when he dropped, it was claws-first, an X-Scissor strike from above.

The bulkier Zangoose felt his first claw collide with the green-patterened Zangoose's claws...not a bad bit of muscle this Zangoose had. He probably could have overpowered his opponent...but he wasn't in this to simply crush his opposition like he usually would.... No, he was in this to push this stranger to his limits to see exactly what he was capable of. A million different thoughts passed through his mind in an instant, thinking about how he could use the impressive strength that he possessed. He glanced over at the Riolu that was still standing nearby, by himself, just watching the battle unfold.
Ethand just stood, mouth agape, at the display of raw power and speed coming from both of the combatants...there was definitely no room for him in this fight. He would only serve to get in Raze's way. That didn't stop him from wanting to help out somehow.... If things started going against Raze's favor, he could perhaps jump in and try to help him out then.... But for now, he was just...useless. Or so it seemed, at the very least. He reallly needed to get stronger...somehow.
As Raze's other claw hit the ground, and he felt the smaller Zangoose duck underneath his Crush Claw...and then bound upward into the air. He watched almost as if Raze was in slow motion. Then, just as quickly as he had lunged into the air, another attack came down at him. X-Scissor, the bulky Zangoose noted in the instant the attack came at him. He then ducked and stepped to the side...unfortunately for him, the range was just too close to avoid taking a hit. He winced as the claws scratched his side, but he ignored the pain and reached up. He tried to feel the green-patterned Zangoose's leg there so he could grip it in his hands and throw him to the ground on his back. If this was a successful move, then he would try to body slam on top of the smaller Zangoose and pin his arms down.
But this whole thing depended on whether or not his first action actually worked....

Raze was, admittedly, disappointed to meet mostly air under him, even if he had managed to do some damage to his opponent. His opponent was fast despite his bulk. Strength and speed, in combination, were a deadly pair, but it was difficult to find a balance without one outweighing the other... Both Raze and this strange Zangoose, however, were employing both in this heated struggle for supremacy. Pointless... Raze thought silently to himself. Exerting all of one's energies into such a battle... Still, even he could feel the roar of blood in his ears, as instincts boiled under his fur and commanded his muscles to fight back, for all of survival.
As Raze dropped to the ground, past his opponent, he felt his leg caught in strong paws. He twisted, quick as a snake, and dug his claws into the ground, pressing his paws against the earth just as he had done a second before, but this time, with a roar, he exerted all of his power into swinging his leg around and slamming his opponent against the wall. It was now raw power vs power, as the other Zangoose, his enlarged and enraged mirror, could still overpower him, ripping Raze's grip from the ground to throw as he pleased, for Raze knew that was the most likely thing to be done by an opponent who has caught you by the leg. Or Raze's way could win out. Or there could be a stalemate, their power canceling each other out, a fruitless exertion of force. Raze was giving this everything he had. He wouldn't lose until his opponent had driven every scrap of energy from Raze's body.

The Zangoose felt his initial attempt at a throw fail, as Raze seemed to have snagged on something. He glanced back and saw the green-patterned Zangoose had his claws dug firmly into the ground. However, they weren't quite as firmly placed as his smaller opponent would have liked him to believe. He could only have dug them in as deep as an initial force would allow. So, all he would have to do was yank with a superior force, and the claw would easily become dislodged. Simple logic.
But then, he suddenly felt the smaller Zangoose's power shift almost instantaneously. From his claw to his gripped foot. He was trying to throw him away to prevent his combo from finishing. As if such a pathetic show of strength could stop him. For a moment, he kept his feet firmly planted on the ground...however, he decided. If he wanted to see what this Zangoose could really do, he needed to....
With that last thought, he felt his feet lift off of the ground and his back slam hard into the tree that they were standing near. After his back hit the tree, his grip on Raze's leg slackened and he released it. He groaned a bit from the impact, but couldn't make another motion afterward. He was, however, able to let out a half-compliment, half-insult to Raze. "Not bad...runt." He didn't really expect Raze to react in any way, shape or form...but it would sure be amusing if he did.

A success... Raze had finally managed to successfully outpower his overconfident opponent. He was dimly aware of Ethan on the sidelines, watching; the Riolu would have only been able to see the display of power, not the currents of thought and instinct, to change direction at the slightest movement, in which all possiblities fed and altered their course. No, battle was so much more than power, or speed.
Raze looked with his usual apathetic expression at his opponent, weighing his opponent's exhaustion, relying on it to decide that the fight was over. This did not seem to be a Pokemon that would willingly give up, and so Raze was ready to react, although he hid his own combination of weariness and tension under flattened fur, no longer as white due to the rough tussle in the stone gorge. The truth of it was, he wouldn't have held up much longer, especially if he had taken such a hit.
Sadly, the Zangoose he faced would have to do without amusement, for Raze offered no reaction to his comment. He simply waited to see what his enemy would do. If the last thing his bulky opponent could do was speak, then Raze would be on his way, up the side of the cliff that faced him and along the path to Jarikar City.

So, no reaction. That was exactly what he had expected. Oh well. He was hoping to be amused, but it didn't happen. No use crying over spilled milk. But then his attention was brought down to his opponent...the trespasser. He seemed to be just standing there, not about to come and take advantage of the fact that he had yet to make a move. That spoke volumes about who Raze was and how he worked. And the thought amused the bulkier Zangoose enough to allow a smirk to play across his face.
He rushed at Raze without another word, as he had now found out that, no matter what the situation, words probably were not going to do any good here. The only way to show his real desire for the battle to continue would be to continue his attack. So, he charged forward, at Raze, without warning or a single word, and attempted to jump into the air and claw at the green-patterned Zangoose beneath him with his Slash attack. He had plans for when he landed on the ground...but those would have to wait.

Raze, despite his annoyance at this Zangoose's persistence, also somewhat admired him for the same reason. Still, now was certainly no time to care; Raze's energy was running out, and if he wanted to end this battle it had to be soon. His opponent had just been unable to move, so that must mean that he was on his last legs. Raze needed to strike quickly and decisively.
So quickly and decisively, in fact, that with little more than a gritting of his teeth, he launched himself at his adversary with a Quick Attack. Hopefully he could outspeed his opponent's slashing claws, and slam the other Zangoose into the wall. If that worked, Raze would need to kick off of his opponent, pressing him even harder into the stone and damaging him further, to land back on the ground. Even that move would expend much of his energy, and he hoped it would work as he sailed through the air toward his adversary.

Raze's attack came faster than the larger Zangoose had anticipated. And as a result, he found the smaller opponent ramming him firmly in his center, and he was carried by him and rammed firmly into the crevice's wall. He let out a small, "Oof!" as he was slammed against it, and he let out a second groan of pain when he felt his foe use his feet to propel himself away. The extra kick did deal a bit more damage, especially from the impressive muscle of that smaller Zangoose.
He just kind of stayed there, slumped against the wall and eyes shut for a moment. Almost as though he had finally been taken down. Ethan, who had still been standing to the side this whole time, was surprised at how those last thirty seconds had played out. He hadn't expected Raze to make such a spectacular-looking move to crush his opponent so quickly! "Alright, that was great!" he called out, taking a step forward. "W-wow, remind me not to get on your bad side.... You really showed that other guy who's the boss...."
But then, Ethan stopped. There was movement from the larger Zangoose. He had gotten up again, and he started shaking himself off, finally opening his eyes again. "Hahah...heheh...." It started off slow, but in the end, he started laughing hard. He laughed for quite a bit before finally calming down. "You are indeed an impressive fighter. I can get a lot out of you...you'll be a great tool." he said rather loudly. "But if you think somebody like me could be defeated by somebody of your level, I'm afraid you're sadly mistaken. What I've shown you so far isn't even half of what I can really do. I merely wanted to see how much you could dish out, to see whether you were worth keeping around or if I should simply kill you for your trespassing."
"What...?" Ethan called out from the sidelines. "That has to be a bluff. I could see signs of fatigue in that battle...you were fighting your hardest out there!"
"All part of the act, kid." the Zangoose spoke again. "And you're lucky I haven't tried to kill you yet. Be thankful." After shooting the Riolu a slight smirk, he looked over at Raze again. "Like I said, I haven't been fighting anywhere near my strongest yet. Though if you'd like to see me step it up a bit, just give me some kind of sign. I wouldn't mind proving my words. In fact, it could be fun throwing you around and stomping you in the dirt." He chuckled to himself at his last words as he awaited anything that Raze might do in response to this. One way or another, he sounded confident...as though he had room to maneuver. Was he really bluffing, or does he have a reason to be so confident?

Raze panted, eyes narrowed at his foe as he went down. This Zangoose had endured a lot, and it had been a tough fight, but Raze was sure that now it was over. It had better be... this is a waste of time and energy, this senseless fighting... His ear twitched as Ethan complimented him, but Raze only had eyes for the other Zangoose. He wanted to be sure that it was over.
But then his opponent stirred, and Raze's muscles reflexively tensed again, more painfully from the exertion they had just endured. How could this Zangoose still be able to move? Much less laugh, a sound that filled the gorge and bounced off the walls. Raze found it eerie, but paid his opinion no mind, just hardened his gaze as the other stood and spoke. A tool? Raze echoed the words in his head. He is arrogant... Raze wasn't sure if he believed the rest of what the Zangoose said, but there he was, standing. Talking.
Raze couldn't help but agree with Ethan's response; if the Zangoose had been bluffing, he had done so convincingly. Raze's own fatigue was genuine, he would never fake fatigue for the sake of messing with an opponent. He would knock them out and be done with it. And he had done his best so far. He wasn't sure if he could do more.
Threats... real or empty? wondered Raze as the Zangoose spoke again. He would not invite more hostility, but he refused to be broken by this Zangoose. Then he remembered some items he had found on his travels. If this Zangoose refused to back down, perhaps now was the time to use them. He straightened up, still glaring at the Zangoose, and pulled out first his Scanglasses, putting them on. He then quickly whipped out a can of Power Lemonade that he had picked up - he wasn't entirely sure what it would do, but he needed something, anything - and slashed through the lid in one fluid movement, pouring the liquid into his mouth.

The Zangoose that stood before Raze watched the green-marked Zangoose carefully. He needed to make sure that there was nothing that this runt could do to get the better of him. He was confident that he had the upper hand here, despite Raze's best attempts at fighting back. Although, perhaps a more level match between the two would make things more interesting...so he might, even still, just let the runt do what he wants to do. He smirked a bit to himself when he realize that Raze was panting. So, he'd exhausted himself quite a bit, has he? Interesting.... Perhaps this little bout of theirs wouldn't last very much longer after all. That was perfectly fine by him. The faster this fight was finished, the sooner he could get this fairly tough Zangoose to work for him. At least, that was his belief. When Raze pulled out his Scanglasses, that took both Ethan and the rival Zangoose by surprise. Neither of them were sure how Raze had come across something like that. When the Glasses were put on, they were instantly focused on the energy signature that was in his sight, the large Zangoose before them. As the Scanglasses worked, they showed a simple display: Quinton GrantPower: 218 Forms: Zangoose Equipment: Energy Apple, Vigor Banana, Spore Bomb x2, Thunder Bomb Money on hand: 0 Meanwhile, Raze had managed to pull out a Power Lemonade. Ethan was shocked. Where had all these rare items come from!? But then, Raze made a movement to open it up. "R-Raze, stop, wait...!" he tried to call out, but it was too late. Raze had already gulped down the sour liquid. Oh boy, this might not end well. He had been taught all about the rare item that was the Power Lemonade...and he'd seen its effects first-hand. Normally, the rare drink forced evolution upon the Pokemon. However...in this case, Raze had already been in his final form. Ethan had always been told never to use a Power Lemonade if he were ever in his final evolved form. Its effects were completely unknown and the result could either be additional power or benefits...or it could cause a reverse effect and hinder the drinker. He'd even heard rumors of Pokemon having mutated because of their experimentations with the drink. Oh...I hope you'll be okay.... Ethan mumbled in his head, keeping his gaze fixed on his travelling partner. The other Zangoose seemed surprised. But in the end, he couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "Oh...THIS is an interesting turn of events...I've always wanted to see something like this happen...." He clearly knew what was going on. But he still did nothing to stop it. He clearly had genuine interest in the result of this Power Lemonade. As the liquid made its way into Raze's system...well...at first, nothing happened. However, roughly one minute later, it struck. A sudden, heavy pain erupted from the Zangoose's stomach and seemed to spread its way through his entire body. As he would feel it, his body would begin to glow. As he did, he began to change shape. His long ears shortened into a round head...his muzzle extended into a long nose...his arms shortened while his claws grew thicker, and his body began to shrink slightly, and his legs began to shrink as well. Before long...Raze was shown to have become a Drilbur. Raze gains a new form, as well as a new Ability!
Form: Drilbur, P145 Drilbur Form gains the Egg Move: Submission! Drilbur Form has a slight, permanent boost to its ATK! Zangoose Form gains the Egg Move: Double Kick! Zangoose Form gains the Hidden Abillity: Toxic Boost! Note on Immunity + Toxic Boost: Immunity will not negate the ability to be poisoned, but will negate the damage normally sustained during the poisoning. Therefore, whenever Raze is Poisoned, he will not take damage and he gains a 50% boost to his ATK.
