This site works differently than most other sites out there. Here's how DN2 works:
YOU: Your character is (probably) a human from the first dimension, the world we all know and love as the Pokemon World. While going about your daily life, a portal mysteriously appears, coupled with a voice that beckons you to it and screams of adventure and excitement. Even if you refuse, you are forcibly sucked in and transported to Dimension Number 2...
ARRIVAL: Upon arrival, you are separated from your original team of Pokemon. But that's not the half of it; instead of that familiar, human body, you have been transformed into a Pokemon! Goals may differ from character to character, but one of the more common ones is to find a way home. But who knows, you might actually like it here better than your old dimension...
POWER: A basic measure of how physically strong a Pokemon is. Basically, the more Power, the better you'll usually fare in battle. As common sense would have it, you'd have a better chance against a Pokemon with less Power than you, and a hard time against one with more Power. There is no limit to the amount of Power you can obtain. You can increase Power through battle, accomplishments, or with special (albeit rare) items.
FORMS: Pokemon can have more than one Form, similarly to how Trainers can have more than one Pokemon. You can shape-shift to any of these Forms at will. Each Form has its own Power level; some Forms are more powerful than others. When you receive Power through battle, it is added onto your current Form, and all other Forms gain a small amount as well, depending on how you used them in the battle.
PARABUCKS: The points you earn posting and doing things on DN2 will grant you Parabucks that you can spend on items in in-game shops for your character as well as in the Dimensional Department Store. Often, you can find some by defeating Pokemon in battle, or as a reward for doing favors, etc.
MOVES: Every Pokemon can use all of the moves from its learnable move-set. Example: Even a Treecko that was just born can use Energy Ball. The only problem is, if you have less Power, you might find it more difficult to control these moves. There are, however, some Advanced Moves that you may learn when you acquire enough Power (See the Advanced Moves section in the Dimensional Entities board for more details).
REWARDS: If you win a battle, you receive Power anywhere from 5-20% depending on various variables (such as {un}favorable conditions, effort value, etc.) Power is not completely split between multiple battlers - usually, they both receive the full amount, unless one helped more than the other, etc.
DEFEAT: If you faint, and no allies are around to help you out, you'll wake up in the last town/resting place you visited, and you will have lost some items (whatever the foe decided to take from you) and money. However, if the ally is able to defeat the opponent, he/she will probably stay by your side until you come to, and in this case your items and money will stay intact.
DEATH: If you die, you will end up in the Glitch Void. From there, you can mingle with the other dead people, or you can talk with the Reaper about being reincarnated. I prefer the second one myself. But he usually doesn't let you off for free. He'll probably have an errand or task for you to do for him, and if you pull it off, he rewards you with the gift of life.
EVOLUTION: Most Pokemon evolve when they reach a Power level equal to the level they were supposed to evolve times 50. For example, Paras evolves into Parasect at P1200 (evolves at level 24; x50). Other types of evolution occur according to special rules; see Dimensional Entities for more information.
