"...So to sum things up, between the strange events surrounding this place, and the increase of Weavile sightings in the area, we have to make checking out this hospital a priority." Doug was talking about the large structure behind him: The Nirocci General Hospital. Which for some reason was literally in the middle of Nirocci field. There really were no landmarks to be had, aside from the Opal mountains on the horizon.
Of course, the hospital USED to just be a ward, but after some pokemon reported making unlikely recoveries while staying, it became extremely popular. Both for pokemon looking for a miracle, and folks who were looking to solve the mystery of how so many impossible recoveries happened. Within the last few years, the ward grew and became what was now standing in front of the four of them.
"Unfortunately, I can't go with you. Due to my affliction as an empath, being around so many sick and injured pokemon would render me useless anyway, so I may as well stay out here and keep an eye out for anyone else who might be looking for the Diamonds."
Doug was referring to his mind reading abilities. While they were often useful, it seemed just as often to be an issue.
"Don't worry, to start with this will be simple. All you three have to do is go in, approach the front desk, and ask for a tour. From what I hear they get these kinds of requests all the time. While you're on the tour just look for anything suspicious or noteworthy and get back to me when you can. Any questions?"

The Zangoose stood before Doug directly to his front, arms crossed as he listened intently to what he had to say. Doug had gone through the trouble of scouting around for any areas that might be considered suspicious, so Marduk owed it to him to make sure that they did not mess this one up. He was trying to put yesterday behind him, where he had very nearly failed to protect his comrades from bounty hunters. He had to make sure that he didn't let that happen again. He needed to have as much information as possible and make sure that he didn't make any mistakes.
"Y-yeah, I suppose that makes sense," the Buizel commented when Doug noted how he would not be able to come with them. Jet hadn't expected, after yesterday's struggle, to be going directly into their next search without the comfort of Doug's help. But when he thought back to the Wish Festival tournament, Doug's mind reading abilities were distracting enough, even with the audience focused on the fight. He couldn't imagine how Doug would feel in a hospital full of injured and sick Pokémon. As much as he wanted the Abra's help, he did realize that it would be better if he didn't.
Marduk nodded as well. To be honest, he still found it very hard to believe that this Abra could actually read minds. But he had proven it to be true already nonetheless. "Don't worry about it," Marduk replied. "We can't afford more failure." He then looked between the other two companions: the Buizel that he'd been training a bit as well as the Linoone that had actually done well to both protect the Buizel and even save him. After yesterday, he had more faith in these two. They may not be quite as reliable as Doug was...but they could handle themselves well enough.
"U-um...I do have a question," Jet murmured softly, raising his paw into the air. "I was wondering...two things. F-first, should we take separate tours...? I-I mean...then we would have a slightly larger chance of noticing something suspicious if we're around for a longer period of time. S-second, um...wh-what if something goes wrong inside? L-like...I don't know, m-maybe an enemy sees us and tries to take us down? W-with you out here, we wouldn't have a reliable method of escape."

Doug turned to the Buizel. It was almost annoying how thorough he could be at times, but that too was a trait that was more often than not helpful.
"I think your second point kind of answers your first. I do think it would be best for you three to stick together in case something happens. But also, I'd very much like you guys to try to mentally map the place out, and to do that I'd much prefer if you three would stick together to compare notes as well as... well... if your tour guide doesn't show you certain parts of the building... perhaps one of you could check it out while the other two distracted them?"
"The last diamond was in a sort of shrine in the heart of that mountain peak, it seemed. Perhaps this hospital was simply built around a shrine. If it is, I'm willing to bet it's in a part of the hospital they won't show anyone. Lucky for us, I can get us through most kinds of barriers that could stand in our way. Unfortunately I can't spend much time in there."
"So my plan right now is basically... use my mind reading ability and your memories to warp you guys in and out of the hospital."
Doug reached behind him and pulled out two small speakers with antennas sticking out of them.
"Which brings me back to your second point. We're gonna have to use these to communicate at some point anyway, so one of you may as well take one of these with you. I know walkie-talkies are a little low-tech, but this was all kind of rushed."
Doug tossed one of the walkie-talkies.

ZOOM!
CHOMP!
SKID!
"Oh yeah! This operation is a shoo-in with me at the helm!"
Without any sort of warning (or finesse), Bob the Linoone had jumped in between Doug and Jet and intercepted the walkie-talkie in his jaw like an over-excited hyperactive puppy. Ever since he evolved to turn that fight around, Bob had been overflowing with confidence and self-esteem. Didn't matter what the plan was or what they were doing, or if he even had any part in it to begin with; Bob was hellbent on showing off his new physique and power at any opportunity.
This one seemed simple enough. All he had to do was tour the hospital, and if anyone gave them trouble, Bob would flatten them in an instant.
He transferred the talkie into his paw, pocketing it. "Well, no sense standing around outside the place, stammering our tongues out," Bob said, taking a sideways dismissive glance at Jet. "Let's just get a move on. It's not like a hospital could possibly have Pokemon that could be a threat to us anyway!"

Marduk, who had just been reaching out to grab hold of the walkie-talkie that was thrown his way, but stopped when it was intercepted by none other than the Linoone. But even he couldn't help himself. He raised a paw and held it up to his head, shaking it as the Linoone demonstrated poor word choice. Whether or not he was even aware of the pun was of no consequence. But he soon lowered his arm and merely nodded to Doug. "I understand," he said simply. He decided not to fight the matter right now. In the end, it didn't really matter who held onto it, after all.
Jet remained silent, ignoring the action of both Bob and Marduk. He was too focused on Doug and what he had just finished explaining. He nodded, content with the answers he had been given. He did know, of course, that there were many ways in which this plan could go wrong. But given the amount of restrictions that they had to work with, there was not really a better plan that could be thought up. "O-okay, I understand," Jet replied with a nod. "I-if it's just a mental layout of the facility that you need from me, I-I should be able to handle that easily enough. M-my memory's a strong point of mine. S-so I suppose I should be the one to sneak off on my own as well...." He gulped slightly at the thought; he didn't like the idea of being all on his own somewhere that their enemies could be about.
But he shook the thoughts off as quickly as possible, knowing that his paranoia and fears might leak into Doug as well. "B-but don't worry. I...I don't want to let you guys down again. S-so...I-I'll do it...s-somehow." Although, he did manage to catch Bob's glance at him, and he realized just what Bob was referring to. And he immediately looked down, an embarrassed blush appearing on his face.
Marduk then turned to look at the Linoone. "Do not be so hasty, Lin...no, Bob," he said, putting his claws to his waist. He was trying to make more of an attempt to show more respect for the Linoone after yesterday's events. "We have no idea what Pokémon are within these walls. For all we know, Vito Steele clones could be scouring the place. Or the Dimensional Guard themselves could be waiting to ambush us. Or even worse, that Floatzel that possesses the Fire Diamond could appear. He will be very dangerous to deal with while wielding that Fire Diamond. He was powerful enough without it. But there is no telling how much stronger he is with it." He then sighed. "Or in the worst case scenario, all three could be here at the same time. We must remain cautious."
Marduk's words caused another fear to suddenly seep into Jet's consciousness. Though this one was not about self-preservation.... He let out a small gulp at the thought of a seemingly innocent hospital becoming a war zone.
"In any case, you are right. We should be moving," Marduk commented. "As I said, it's possible for them to already be present. The sooner we get in, the sooner we get out. And the less likely it is that we shall be discovered." with that, Marduk stepped past the Abra, headed right for the entrance to the hospital.
"R-right..." Jet murmured, moving to fall into step behind him.
It wouldn't be long before Marduk would reach the door and open it, finally getting access to what was probably simply the hospital's lobby.

Bob scoffed at Marduk's warnings, staring up at him incredulously. "Like I said," he reminded, "No possible threats whatsoever. Don't tell me you already forgot about that last battle! I could take on the whole Dimensional Guard single-handedly at this point! Isn't that right, Jet?" he added, knowing that the Buizel had no reason to disagree with his savior.
He noticed Marduk and Jet had already begun moving toward the hospital entrance. He followed them, trotting briskly alongside Jet, but he still wasn't done. "Not that I couldn't already do that, of course," he continued, "but at least now I don't have to break a sweat." He didn't give it much thought, but the possibility was very real that if Bob kept this attitude throughout the tour, it was likely that something or someone would suffer collateral damage as a result. It didn't occur to Bob that most of the Pokemon in a hospital needed peace more than chaos.
Despite Marduk already demonstrating his urgency, he was still going too slow for Bob's tastes. The Linoone knew that the door would never open within his attention span, so he decided to charge ahead and open it himself. "So much for moving," he quipped before gesturing everyone inside.

The automatic doors slid open, and on the other side there were about ten or twenty pokemon, all heading in different directions with all manner of hooves, claws, and other appendages clicking and scraping and sliding across the hard tile floors.
Some of them were heading to the right, where there was a glass door. Through the two large windows in the wall, it looked like on the other side was some kind of waiting room, which seemed to have just as many pokemon inside it.
A couple carrying stethoscopes were heading to the left, where there was a hallway with a large sign above it that read "EMERGENCY." On either side of this hallway the walls contained artwork: mostly abstract kinds of art that made heavy use of cool, soothing colors in blotches and large indefinite shapes.
Some were making their way to the back of the room and waiting next to two large metal doors: clearly elevators. There also was a door that lead to the stairwell. No-one went through this door, instead opting to wait in front of the busy elevators.
The large entry even had a balcony overhead that went all the way around the room, with doors and hallways lining the outside wall.
All the pokemon on the first floor made their way around a central circular counter, where a Staravia with a headset sat at a computer terminal. She seemed to be taking calls every once in a while, occasionally tapping a few keys, writing something down, and then taking another call.

Jet looked away for a moment, not wanting to say anything to oppose the same guy who had saved him the day before. But at the same time that was a rather dangerous way of thinking. But when he finally opened his mouth to give a response to the newly-evolved Linoone, the Normal-type Pokémon was already starting to say something else. This time, more boasting. This didn't surprise the Buizel much, but he really needed to-
"Don't be so na-" Marduk started, but couldn't finish before the Linoone had already rushed in front of him and opened the automatic doors for them. "...ïve." he muttered under his breath. Well, it was too late to correct Bob now. Now that they were stepping inside, they were now in open view of the public, and they couldn't draw too much attention to themselves by arguing here. So, he decided to drop the matter entirely and step inside, with Jet following closely.
The two looked around the room, taking in the form. Jet quickly identified where the doors were and already began to picture the layout of the floor plan. In the back were elevators and Jet couldn't help but wonder if they went down as well as up. Hopefully, they would get to see the inside of those on the tour.
Marduk began to make his way toward the circular desk in the center of the room, where there was a Staravia keeping himself busy. He smiled slightly at the sight of a bird Pokémon, but quickly shook it off. He had business to focus on right now. He reached back and nudged the Buizel with his shoulder and gestured forward. "C'mon," he said before beginning to walk.
Jet jumped slightly at the unexpected nudging, since he'd been so busy scoping out the rest of the room. But he quickly nodded and began to follow the larger Pokémon. He cast a quick glance at the Linoone beside him, wanting to ask him to keep his head while they were here, since the Pokémon in a hospital usually required quiet. But at that moment, a thought occurred to him and he reached a paw out to grab hold of the Zangoose's arm, attempting to stop him.
"U-um...m-maybe you shouldn't go," Jet said.
"What do you mean, I shouldn't...?" Marduk replied.
"I-I mean...you stick out the most out of all three of us and, um...n-no offense, but you're not the nicest, friendliest kind of person." Jet interrupted, quickly looking away from the Zangoose's glare. "A-and you don't look the part either. T-to make sure this goes as smoothly as possible, maybe we should, um, have somebody, um...friendlier and less, er...fierce-looking do it? Th-then it may seem like we're less likely to cause trouble."
Marduk could hardly believe that he was getting an earful on his mannerisms and appearance now of all times, and by the Buizel of all Pokémon.

Bob took in the sights of the hospital entry. It was one of the fancier hospitals he had seen in his life, not that he'd been to many... consciously, anyway. He found himself getting lost in the artwork, and although he couldn't make heads or tails of them, he found that they reflected a part of himself that he had yet to fully realize. Such soft and calming colors. A stark contrast to the hurricane of orange and purple that was Bob's own fur.
A terse syllable nearby snapped Bob back into reality, making him painfully aware that he had spent the better part of a minute staring at a painting. Marduk was already headed for the center desk. When Jet flashed him a glance, he hopped to his feet and followed the Zangoose, trying to play it cool like he knew that he was still the most important thing around. No silly painting demanded more attention than he did.
He sighed audibly when Jet pulled Marduk aside, telling him off in the most benign way possible. He scoffed at the Buizel. "Well, we also want to get the message across this century," he droned. "Let me do it."
Bob cleared his throat, slicking back his fur as he approached the central desk. Donning his most confident smile, he propped himself up on the counter in front of the Staravia with both paws. "Pardon me," he introduced, "but me and my, erm..." He glanced back at his two companions. "Me and my pals over here were wondering if you still gave tours of this fine establishment."

The Staravia stopped, hit a key on her keyboard, and spun her chair around to face the Linoone that had interrupted her work. She did not have time for this.
Her brow dropped as she narrowed her eyes at Bob before letting out a heavy sigh. She hit a few more keys before speaking again. "Neeva can we get a tour by the main entrance. Neeva to the main entrance, please."
She quickly pulled out a long strip of waxy paper from under the desk, ripped off a stub, and placed it in front of the Linoone. On it were three stickers that said "VISITORS PASS" in big letters, with a small blank space. She also pulled a marker from a nearby cup and placed it on the stickers. "Write your name on these, keep them on you for the duration of your visit. Feel free to wait over there. Your tour guide will be with you shortly." The Staravia waved to a long bench right next to the door before spinning her chair back to her keyboard and continuing her pattern of taking calls, typing, and writing.

Bob, predictably, did not know or care that the Staravia was clearly ambivalent toward his demeanor. "Heh..." he chuckled to himself, after the bird turned back around. He glanced back at Marduk. "Sorry to break it to you," he said, smirking, "but she totally digs me more than you. Did you see the way she could barely keep eye contact after talking to me? I bet she's blushing over there. I ain't even trying and they still fall right into my lap."
He allowed himself a victorious laugh as he returned to the counter. Three stickers. Hardly a challenge. He grabbed the marker nonchalantly, popped the lid off, and scribbled names onto each of them. He peeled them off all at once, letting them stick to his paw, then placed the first one ignobly onto his forehead, labeling him as:
BOB "DANGER" SLADFIGY
"Perfect!" he chimed. "Alright, prepare yourselves..." he announced dramatically, brandishing a sticker in each paw like a wild west gunman. He was going to have way too much fun with this. With a cry of "HYAH! HYAH!" he lunged at Jet, then Marduk, slapping a sticker onto each of their chests.
Jet was now known as: JET "THE MAN" MANN
And Marduk was branded: marduck. just marduck. =P
Satisfied, and blissfully unaware of any embarrassing mistakes, he made his way over to the bench that the secretary had indicated.

Jet let out a small sigh when Bob immediately took it upon himself to rush up to the counter. Predictably, the Staravia was not interested in him in the slightest. In fact, in Jet's opinion, for a desk clerk, she seemed a little bit on the rude side. She hadn't even taken the time to greet the person who had come up to her. Still, though, he supposed he should not judge her for that. He didn't know what was going on there, after all.
Marduk looked back at Bob as the Linoone bragged about how the Staravia was "totally digging" him or something. That's what it sounded like, anyway. He had begun drowning out the Linoone's irrelevant babbling at this point. He found that doing so would make it less likely for the conversation to result in a migraine.
However, when Bob turned to the desk and saw that three stickers were waiting for him, Marduk's eyes widened slightly. Oh no. That couldn't possibly end well. "Bob, don't y-" he started, stepping forward again. Unfortunately, he was much too slow. By the time he had taken his first few steps, Bob had already pulled the cap off of the marker and was scribbling away. Then, all three stickers were removed and brandished around.
Both Marduk and Jet looked at Bob's tag that had been stuck to his forehead. Marduk raised a brow at the Linoone's own tag. Jet, however, couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at the sight. That was definitely a traditional Bob move.
But then came the next couple stickers. Marduk and Jet both found their own stickers stuck to their fur before they could even blink and make any kind of attempt at a protest. Jet looked down at the nametag plastered on his chest, blushing slightly at the words written there. "T-the Man...?" Jet read aloud in a questioning tone. "W-when was that my nickname...?" He also wasn't sure he liked just how...weird the name sounded aloud. But he was willing to go with Bob's antics for now. After all, he'd been doing well with them for some time now. He began to follow Bob over to the bench as indicated by the Staravia.
Marduk, however, was far more vocal about his protests. "No." he growled almost immediately, reaching down to tug at the tag in an attempt to pull it off of his fur. There was a slight blush on his face. "Not a chance in hell am I wearing this ridiculous thing." Unfortunately, the sticker was stuck to his rather thick fur, which was going to make it a pain to pull off; not to mention time if he wanted to avoid ripping his fur off. And time was something he probably didn't have right now.

As soon as Marduk laid a claw on his sticker, a blur of brown and white flew over the front desk, stopping right in Marduk's face.
"HEY. Listen BUD. You even THINK about ripping off that nametag and I will rip YOU off of the hospital grounds. Understand?" the Staravia snapped at Marduk.
Luckily before the situation had a chance to escalate a voice came from behind the mass of ruffled feathers. "Now now, Dee. We can't have you being hostile toward every guest in our hospital."
The voice came from a small green ball floating a few feet off of the ground. The Solosis seemed to appear out of nowhere.
"Well someone should! We've got patients to worry about here. We can't just have unknown strangers wandering around the hospital. Someone has to document who's going in and out. We can't all spend our days giving tours without a care in the world, Neeva."
"Look, I'm here. I'm giving them a tour. They're my charges now. So calm down and go back to your desk. I can take care of these three."
The Staravia turned back to Marduk and backed away slowly. "I'm still gonna be keeping a close eye on this one. You make any trouble, and you'll regret it..." Dee glanced down at the Zangoose's nametag, "JUST Marduck."
With that, Dee flew back to her desk and went back to her business of taking calls and shooting dirty looks at Marduk.
The Solosis went on as though nothing had happened, with a demeanor that seemed impossibly pleasant given the hostility of her co-worker. "Hello there! Welcome to Nirocci General Hospital! I'll be your tourguide, Neeva. We've got a lot of ground to cover today. So let's take it from the top. Literally. Follow me to the elevator!"
With that she flew toward the back of the room where there were a few other pokemon waiting for the elevators. "Now, what all do you already know about Nirocci general?" she turned and asked after bumping against the button to summon the elevator, even though it had already been lit by one of the other several pokemon already waiting.

Marduk's attention was quickly drawn by the Staravia as the bird Pokémon suddenly rushed at him from behind the counter, getting right in front of his face before stopping. He was very tempted to snap back at the Flying-type but stopped himself before he could even open his mouth. The last thing he needed to do was hurt their chances at finding this Diamond just because he was starting to cause trouble for the staff, unintentionally or not.
Plus, it would seen that he wouldn't get much of a chance to retort anyway. A Solosis had spoken up and approached them, beginning to talk with the Staravia. He watched the two go back and forth for a few moments, relieved that he wouldn't have to do any of the talking himself. Perhaps the young one had been right; maybe he shouldn't be doing any of the talking today.
When the Staravia, apparently named Dee, turned her attention back to him, Marduk simply looked back at her, though clearly reaching away from his embarrassing nametag. When she read the tag and put emphasis on the "just" part of it, he tried to ignore it and stop himself from blushing slightly in embarrassment again, with relative success. "I assure you, you have nothing to fear from me," Marduk replied simply before backing away himself, wanting to retreat before he was incited further.
Jet let out a small sigh of relief that he hadn't even been aware that he'd been holding. It had only been less than a couple minutes since their entrance and they'd already run into a problem. This...was not going to go very well, was it?
Finally, the Solosis began leading them toward the elevator, and Jet followed her with Marduk not far behind. So, it seemed like they were going to start from the top floor. He would need to figure out how many floors were in this building in order to start a proper mental map.
"Um...w-well," Jet murmured, ready to answer the Solosis' question. "N-not much, really. J-just rumors here and there. Especially about the, um...th-the miraculous recoveries that have supposedly been made here."

No sooner had he sat down than he saw Marduk loudly protesting the label that Bob had affectionately given him. But before he could tell him off, the Staravia was already in mid-lunge. Bob could only watch in fascination as he discovered that he was not the only one capable of causing trouble. It was a strange feeling, like seeing someone else wearing your exact outfit. Of course, in this dimension, that outfit was "null" and he had seen quite a lot of people copying that style... which would probably explain why Bob was so strange 24/7.
Bob snapped back to reality as he noticed a Solosis, identifying herself as the tour guide, appeared at some point while he was lost in thought process limbo. He hastily jumped to his feet and took his place next to his group, playing it cool. He stopped near the elevator, fixated on the light coming from the elevator button. It had been a while since Bob last encountered technology of this sort, and the glow drew his gaze like an open flame would a Venomoth.
As the guide spoke, Bob could hardly pay attention. It wasn't until he heard Jet's voice that he remembered he was still very much a part of things. Not wanting to appear too distracted, he cleared his throat to follow up the Buizel's statement. "Um, yes," he began, "That's my answer, also. Rumors, recoveries. Yeah. I'm paying attention." He nodded, completely unaware of how incredibly awkward he sounded.

The Solosis smiled "Haha, yes. Most people who come here for tours come here for that very reason. Many even try to solve the mystery of what causes them! Who knows? Maybe it's something in the water?"
The doors to the elevator opened and the Dee's smile faded. "I'm just kidding. It's not something in the water. We've had it tested. Many times. Anyway, right this way!"
Dee led her tour group into the elevator, which was probably 4 times the size of most elevators in the human world. Probably to accommodate larger pokemon. Even so, it didn't seem big enough to fit especially large pokemon inside. Otherwise the elevator was completely ordinary: tile floor, handrails, florescent lights on the cieling, and a panel on the wall next to the door with 4 buttons next to it. They each were labeled: 3, 2, 1, and B. The Solosis bumped the button labeled with 3, but not before a Machop nearby hit the 2 button. A few other pokemon also came in, but in such a large elevator there was still plenty of room.
Dee continued her tour. "Right, well, even if the mystery doesn't get solved it's brought in a nice way for the hospital to make a little extra money: tourism. I know it doesn't sound great, but we've been able to put a lot of that money toward research and improvements. Y'know, to help those pokemon that... don't get miraculously cured."
As Dee went on, the doors closed and everyone inside felt a shift as the elevator began to rise.

Both Jet and Marduk listened to what Neeva had to say, though Jet was making sure that he retained everything he could about this facility and every word that their tour guide was telling them. But that wasn't the only thing that Jet was interested in; most of all, he caught a rather interesting statement. She had said something about the water supply, somewhat like a joke. But then had a sudden shift in demeanor, her smile fading and then proceeding to explain the joke. He tried to avoid having a suspicious look on his face, but he couldn't help but find the delivery of that somewhat peculiar....
Marduk, however, shrugged and simply remained quiet. Instead, he was focusing on taking in his surroundings. He had never seen a place like this before. And now that he wasn't focused on his embarrassing and misspelled nametag or with a moody Staravia, he could finally take in the technology around him. He was astonished at how...different this all was. In all of his time, he'd never seen something quite like it. The bright lights on the ceiling, machinery involved in an elevator like this...it was all very fascinating....
"A-ah, I see," Jet murmured in response to Neeva's information dump, trying to ignore the unsettling feeling of rising in an elevator, something he hadn't experienced in years at this point. "S-so, this building has four floors...?" he asked, looking at the buttons lined up on the wall. "H-how big is the building, exactly, I-if you don't mind my asking?"

The elevator doors opened as they reached the 2nd floor. Most of the pokemon got off at this floor, leaving just the three in the tour, Neeva the tour guide, and the Machop.
"Well, it's actually not too big. We started as just a small clinic in the middle of nowhere for a decade, then we added the Emergency Wing on the first floor a few years back. That's when the strange recoveries started happening. After that we started bringing in more money and added the second floor: Our medical floor with enough rooms for 20 long term patients, and a dining hall. After a while it was clear that wouldn't be sufficient, so we doubled the number of rooms on the second floor and added the third floor: research, ICU, and diagnosis equipment. The basement hasn't really seen much expansion at all, though it's mostly just used for storage at this point. There's not much to really see down there."
As the elevator began moving again, the Machop tapped Marduk on the shoulder. "Excuse me. I just have to ask, are you THE Marduk? The one from the Wish Festival?"

Marduk cast his glance around the room, having taken more than enough time to admire the technology on display. He watched as many Pokémon left the elevator upon its next stop. When the doors closed and the elevator began moving again, the Zangoose noted that one Pokémon still had not left the room. So apart from the tour group, there was merely the lone Machop. A moment later, though, and Marduk noticed the Machop beginning to move again. And sure enough, the smaller Pokémon tapped on his shoulder and began to speak.
Apparently, this Machop wanted to know if he was truly the same Marduk from the Wish Festival. He turned his head, meeting the Fighting-type Pokémon's gaze. He had to think carefully about how to answer him. If he simply admitted to being the one and the same Zangoose, then what would happen? Would the Machop freak out since he's technically supposed to be a criminal here in the hospital? Would he tell his friends or family or the staff about his presence? Perhaps he wanted to fight with the same Pokémon that participated in the Festival? Or maybe he was looking for vengeance for something that happened back in that icy town. There was definitely a lot of reasons to not give himself away here.
But then he thought about it. Did it really matter if he confessed here and now? The two partners he had brought with him might not be so easily recognized, but they were all clearly labeled, thanks to Bob jumping the gun and not even bothering to give them fake names. On top of that, their forms even just being together would be a dead giveaway to those actively looking for them. In this situation, hiding from Pokémon like that would be nearly impossible. But even so, if the staff were alerted now, they might end up calling the Guard. He had his doubts that they would want a fight to break out in their hospital, though. Still, the possibility was still there....
"...If I am, then is it really a good idea to ask?" Marduk replied simply. He tried not to sound too intimidating, as he didn't want to make himself out to be the criminal that the Guard was trying to make him out to be. He quickly cast a glance at Neeva, who seemed too busy with Jet to really be hearing what was being said, so long as he didn't announce it too loudly. So, he decided to quietly add, "Butif I am, what would you want to talk to me about?"
Jet nodded as he continued listening to Neeva's explanations. The basement hasn't seen expansions? If nobody goes down there very often, then that might be an ideal place to hide a Diamond. Of course, that very fact might make it less likely as well. Would a Diamond be in a location so easily deduced? If it were, Vito would find it in no time and be away before anybody ever knew he was even there. Though truth be told, he was now also curious about the Emergency Wing. If that was put up around the time of the miraculous healing, then that might also indicate the presence of a Diamond. But he supposed all that confirmed was the potentially the time the Diamond began to take effect. Still, there might be some clue in that location if they looked hard enough. Either way, there was plenty of information he needed to file away for later.
"I see," Jet replied, nodding again. "That's quite an interesting history. You say that it was around the time the Emergency Wing was created tat the miraculous recoveries started to happen? Then...will we get to see that area on this tour? It sounds rather intriguing."
He figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

"Oh, It's nothing I just..." the Machop paused. He wasn't sure why the Zangoose seemed so suspicious of his intentions. "I was one of the Machop assigned to the medical tent during the Wish Festival. I was really rooting for you in that final round! It's a shame that Weavile with those cheap clones took the title. He doesn't seem like the type of guy to really need to take part in a tournament like that in the first place if you ask me."
As the Machop went on about his thoughts on the tournament that had occurred months ago, the door to the elevator opened to the 3rd floor.
Neeva continued with her tour, floating out of the doors as she spoke, "Of course! Assuming things down there aren't too hectic when we make it down to the first floor, we'll be making a quick pass through there, followed by a look around the clinic, and possibly a visit to the hospital administrator if she happens to be available. Even if she isn't, you'll each get a voucher to visit the dining hall after our tour has concluded. But first..." Neeva spun around in a showy fashion, "Third floor: Diagnosis, R&D, and ICU."
Outside the doors of the elevator there was another large waiting area with several padded benches, as well as some large potted plants. But there didn't seem to be anyone waiting here at the moment. In fact, the entire third floor seemed strangely empty. On the other side of the room were two large swinging double doors with "INTENSIVE CARE UNIT" written in large letters.
To the left was a hallway, above which was gold lettering: "RESEARCH CENTER." The hallway looked long, but it looked like it was mostly windows, with a couple doors on either side of the hallway, ending in a large window at the end, through which one could get a nice view of the Opal Mountains from 3 floors above the ground.
The hallway on the other side of the waiting area was unlabeled, but there did seem to be a few more doors on that side.
