Inu does not like the chasm. She very much questions her ability to get across the chasm on her own.
Inu>See Player 5
Inu>Celebrate the fact that she isn't alone anymore
Even if they're separated by a giant, deathly chasm, company is company, right?
Inu>Yell across chasm and ask Player 5 if he has any chance of getting across the chasm on his own or if he needs help
Inu is very well aware that she is lazy. But she considers the fact that if someone came to the other side of the chasm and decided to lay down there, there may be even less of interest on that side of the cave.

Well! Blah throws his hands in the air. Ain't no chance of taking pollution down to zero now! But on the bright side, Blah continues, if the group gets hopelessly lost, all they have to do is look for the gigantic stream of smoke. Not that they ever plan on coming back here. Apparently they have to keep moving anyway. Speaking of which, shouldn't they be doing that? Who cares about some dumb smoking factory. Blah makes his sentiments on the matter excruciatingly clear.
He also throws in a subtle hint that it would be really nice if he had a new backscratcher. Preferably one not made of wood and liable to break at so much as a stiff breeze. Why, he swears, back in his day, backscratchers were serious business! The war scratcher was a prominent weapon among military footmen in the Great War of 89! Just 89. No other numbers in that year. Anyway, the things Blah has seen would make any normal man want to scratch his own eyes out. Is what he's saying.
Yep. Clearly subtle.
Blah>March defiantly onward

One very interesting series of events later, the weird backscratcher guy apparently does a total 180 and starts to walk off. Wombat gleefully begins skipping along behind him, only half listening to what he's rambling about. Something about a prominent weapon in some war. Maybe he wants one?
Wombat>Ponder what weapons would be used among military footmen in a Great War Wombat>EPIPHANY
Wombat>Use Skill: Metalbend: ### >>Target: Block of Copper
Wombat focuses very hard on the details.
She is completely certain that the weird guy will be overjoyed.

The girl on the other side is chasm is yelling at you. Respond, Ren.
Ren>Yell back "the answer to that is a solid maybe"
Perfect. Not vague at all.

That wasn't exactly the helpful response Inu was hoping for.
Inu>Relay thoughts in a somewhat exasperated yell
Wow, she really wishes there was an easier way to communicate than yelling across a wide chasm. This was starting to hurt her vocal chords.
Inu>Yell that she could probably get herself over there but she doesn't know how to get someone from the other side over to her side unless he has any ideas
Inu actually doesn't know how she could get to that side yet. She's hoping that she'll be able to think of something, though, if there actually does turn out to be something interesting over there.

Ren>Yell "don't bother coming over here, it's just a dead end" Ren>Explain that you have a magic mask that makes you run faster and could possibly long jump your way to the other side of the chasm, but are slightly worried about the possibility of falling to your painful death

As Blah begins to walk away, Wombat starts molding her block of copper into a new weapon. Luckily, copper is much easier to mold than iron, so it maybe takes a minute before she's finished. The result might be a bit dull, but Wombat figures she can always get it a bit sharper later.
Block of Copper has become Dull Copper Shortsword
Wombat announces that she's finished the blade just as Blah passes the other end of the warehouse.
-----
As this happens, Inu and Ren are busy deliberating over the best possible way to deal with the chasm.
They have yet to agree on a solution at the time of this post.
Katan continues to eye the Sun orb with much interest, though it has grown slightly dimmer than when it was originally thrown.

Blah stops as he hears the woman shouting something excitedly behind him. He sighs and turns around, asking what could possibly be so important as to interrupt his walking cycle. He sees her holding up something, apparently offering it to him. Is... is that... Is that a sword??? Does this ignorant nobody really think she can get away with the suggestion that Blahsadfeguie, the Bane of Bladekind, wield one of the instruments which he has so righteously vowed to cleanse from the face of this earth? Okay, Blah, calm down. There's no need to get violent. It's simply a gesture of good faith. Maybe there's a chance we can turn this around. He stares intently at the sword, knowing this technique isn't exactly the most precise, but perhaps it can be controlled through sheer disgust. It's less likely to backfire than the alternative, at least. Blah>Use Skill: Bit Shift >>Target: N/A

Inu notices the cave getting slightly darker. That really isn't good. At least she has an idea for a way to cross the chasm now, though.
Inu>Use Skill: Major Arcana: Magician >>Target: Player 5
Inu>Explain to Player 5 that he should now be able to run and jump to the other side of the chasm.
She realizes that she just asked this stranger to complete a literally death-defying feat with absolutely no evidence that he will survive.
Inu>Adds "Trust me."
That should help.

Ren>"uh ok"
Ren decides to trust the mysterious girl with the floating light orb because she also has a kitten. Would someone with a kitten lie? Of course not.
Ren>Use Skill: Mask Activation: Speed Mask >>Target: Self
Ren darts as far back into the cave as he can without letting the girl's ball of light fall out of view, then starts running as fast as possible back toward the chasm.
Ren>Long jump the heck over that chasm and hopefully not die

Blah sends a prayer up to the RNG gods and unleashes a highly chaotic skill...
...and turns another tree into a streetlamp.
Hope you like streetlamps, dude!
As disappointing as that is, though, looking over at the streetlamp, Blah and Wombat can see something they couldn't see from the front of the building: a stairwell that looks like it leads to the basement of the warehouse.
Willy walks over and grabs the copper shortsword, saying he'll take it off Wombat's hands if no-one else wants it, failing to even acknowledge the discovery of the stairwell.
-----
Inu fires her Magician card at Ren, who then backs up and equips his Speed Mask. The effect of the speed mask is increased by the Magician card, and as Ren sprints forward and jumps, he finds himself making it over the chasm with distance to spare.
Of course, Ren hadn't thought much about how he was going to stop once he landed. So he found himself turning slightly into a skid to slow himself down, but if nothing was done, he was going to crash into the wall of the cave!

Blah looks around. Did nothing happen? He wonders if his technique failed altogether until his eyes rest upon a... streetlamp.
AGAIN with the lamps what IS it even with you and LAMPS MAN
But Blah refuses to let the streetlamp ruse be a distaction. It seems that plan Z has failed, and so he must continue on to plan -A.
Blah walks over to Willy, saying yeah he wants the sword all right.
Blah>Snatch sword from Willy
Blah>###
Blah>PROFIT

And Ren successfully makes it to the other side of the chasm! ...And keeps going. Towards the wall. Which is made of hard stone. Hard, painful stone.
Well, shit.
Ren>Ask the girl if she happens to have any magic cards that can slow you down

Oh shoot. Inu definitely didn't think this one through. Neither did the guy who's skidding at super-speed towards a cavern wall, it seems.
While frantically flipping through her tarot card deck, she hears a strange high-pitch sound that seems to be coming from the direction of the strange guy. She ignores it.
Inu fortunately finds that Temperance card. Hopefully that'll work, but whether she'll regain that misplaced trust, she can't be sure.
Inu>Use Skill: Major Arcana:Temperance >>Target: Ren

Inu quickly tosses her Temperance card at Ren. As soon as it hits, Ren finds himself caught up in bands of light, limiting his ability to move his arms and legs, but also slowing him down significantly, eventually halting only a couple feet from the cave wall.
The light from The Sun card grows even more dim.
----
Blah snatches the Dull Copper Shortsword from Willy with no trouble. He raises the sword...
... and swings it down attempting to cut Wombat!
Auto-Parry
Wombat quickly uses her Extremely Crude Iron Club to block the attack.
Willy uses this opportunity to make a grab for the sword, but fails.

Ren sighs in relief. He forgot that he is incomprehensible while wearing the Speed Mask, but thankfully the girl figured out how to help anyway.
Ren>Deactivate Speed Mask Ren>Remove Speed Mask Ren>Give the girl a thumbs up
Ren notices the girl's light orb getting darker and wonders if she's noticed too.

Inu>Return the thumbs up Inu>Introduce herself and Katan
In the process, Inu notices Katan still staring at the light orb, which is growing worryingly dim.
She tells the guy that they should probably get moving soon, and describes the area where she woke up with the exit sign and the strange, large men who are possibly serial killers. At the very least they are creepy men who are either kidnappers or who enjoy watching girls sleep. She says that she doesn't remember quite what they were doing, but it seemed like they were putting something in a furnace. Anyway, the exit door is probably the most obvious way out of here.

Ren>Introduce yourself back
Ren says that sounds like a plan, especially considering the other end of the cave is probably still a dead end. He's sure that the two of them together could take the men if they happen to attack.
Ren>Onward!

Inu and Ren make their way back to the room with the men shoveling... something into the furnace. At this point the light from The Sun is dim enough that the men don't seem to notice when they walk in. The room looks exactly as it was when Inu had left it.

Inu follows Ren back to where she started. So much for progress. Not only has she made one giant circle, but she's also used up three cards in the process. Great.
Inu points out the door under the exit sign, whispering to Ren that it's probably their best chance of escape (obviously) if it isn't booby-trapped in some way.
Inu>Ask Ren if he wants to open the door, find another way out, or talk to the men
Not like there are any other options.
