The portal which had sucked Jeff in had disappeared. He was no longer in the real world. He laid in the field unconscious, as the fall made him knock out. He was no longer a human being. He was a Vulpix, which matched his personality.
A few hours later, he woke up and looked around. "This isn't my room." He muttered to himself. Trying to get up, he realized that he was already on all fours. He looked down and saw his hands- er, paws- were brown in color with his forearms being lighter brown. "What's going on here?" He thought.

"Ugh, it's about time you woke up." a voice muttered down at Jeff as the Vulpix began to get back to his feet again. Just a few feet away from where the Vulpix had been laying unconscious, a Snivy was sitting at the trunk of a tree, arms crossed. The Snivy's gaze was cast down into a very small book that it he was clutching in its vines. "I spent a good couple hours waiting for you. You could have at least had the decency to wake up a bit sooner." The Snivy wrapped the vines around the cover of the book and snapped it shut before standing up on its small legs and leaned up against the tree it had been sitting under.
Jeff had woken in a large field, devoid of anything but rolling hills and grass, with the exception being a small set of trees where the Snivy had been waiting. The Snivy eyed the Vulpix in front of him up and down for a moment before finally saying something more. "So what in the world were you doing passed out in the middle of an open field, anyway?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"That's what I'm unsure of." He replied. His memory was a complete blank on anything that had happened before he was sucked by the portal, as well as temporary blindness. "I don't know where I'm at or where I've landed. I can tell it's a field, but that's about it." His vision had to adjust a little, seeing as how in the real world he had glasses. After a minute or so, his vision returned, being able to see the snivy in front of him. "Wait.... A talking snivy?" He thought. "I must be dreaming."

The Snivy tilted his head slightly to the side at the Vulpix's strange demeanor. "Hmph. I wish this had been just a dream." he muttered, turning away from the Vulpix, tucking the small book under his arm. "Then I wouldn't have had to waste my time looking after the unconscious body of a Vulpix for a few hours. But if you're fine, then I have no more reason to be here and shall be on my way. I do have places to be, after all."
And with that, the Snivy began walking away without even so much as a glance back at the strange Vulpix he'd just met.

"I bet he thinks I'm strange." He said to himself, spacing out. "I hardly remember anything. The first minute I'm in my room playing Wii, the next I'm waking up in a field." He saw the Snivy leaving and didn't know where to go. "Hey, where are you going?" He called to the snivy, following him.

The Snivy stopped for a moment and looked back at the Vulpix behind him once more. He raised another eyebrow at his comments. "...What in the world is a...? Oh nevermind, I'm sure it's not important." With that, he started walking again, not even glancing back as the Vulpix began to follow him. "I don't recall inviting you to follow me. So I suggest you stop before you annoy me into anger."
The Snivy, whoever he was, seemed to simply ignore Jeff's words as he didn't even bother to answer his question.

Jeff stopped following so he wouldn't annoy the Snivy, but he would most likely get lost. And that's exactly what happened. He wandered around until he found a tree with an opening that could act as a home. He climbed in, and then as if he knew what would have happened, it started to rain. "Good thing I got in this before it rained. Otherwise my fire would have been put out." He thought.

{A quick note: You can't control anything except the actions of your own character and his actions. In other words, everything else is under the Mod's control; be it objects the character interacts with, NPC's or the weather. Not a big deal this time, so I'll let it go. Just try not to do it anymore, m'kay?~ =}}
As the rain began to pour down harder and harder, it became apparent that this wasn't going to let up anytime soon. After a few minutes, a flash of light filled the sky and a powerful BOOM filled the air. This was clearly a strong thunderstorm. There was no telling when something like this was going to let up.
The minutes passed by slowly, until finally, a voice was heard outside. "Darn it, where is he...?" the voice asked. An orange figure appeared outside of the tree opening that the Vulpix was sitting in. The figure was clearly faced the opposite way, and a tail that split at the end was held up, twirling the split end. The Pokemon also had two cream-colored circles on his back fur and a yellow floatation sac around his neck. A person knowledgable of Pokemon species would be able to identify the Pokemon as a Buizel, standing out in the storm. "I know he's somewhere in this blasted storm, but how the heck am I supposed to find him in this mess!?"
It was clear the Buizel was frustrated, and he had his arms crossed, glaring around the area. He apparently had yet to notice Jeff sitting in the tree behind him.

(OOC: Alright, thanks for the pointer. Also, sorry for poofing from the site. I got busy with other stuff including midterms.)
Jeff was awoken by a voice. (Hope you don't mind me quoting. ^^) "Darn it, where is he...?" It had asked. "Um, who said that?" Jeff replied. His tree was big enough for two medium-sized Pokemon. He didn't notice that there was someone else there until the voice said "I know he's somewhere in this blasted storm, but how the heck am I supposed to find him in this mess!?". Jeff immediately turned to a hole in the tree small enough to be able to look through. "Looking for someone?" He asked the Buizel he saw, matching the voice he heard to be the voice of the Buizel.

{Heh. Not a problem at all. Now my only problem is trying to remember where I was going with this situation.... xD}
The Buizel jumped as another voice sounded from behind him. He quickly spun around and saw that the tree he had been standing in front of actually had a large hole its trunk, big enough for a couple somewhat small Pokemon to be able to fit. Within this cavity was a Vulpix. It took him for a moment to register the act that this Fire-type was asking him a question. "O-oh, uh..." he muttered, taken aback by the fact that he was suddenly faced with a stranger. "Yeah, I'm out here looking for somebody," he said finally, after coming to his senses and realizing that this Vulpix as no obvious threat. "Although with this storm, I'm not exactly sure how I'll be able to find him...." He turned around again and looked out across the storm-ridden plain. You would think it would be easy to find somebody out here, but apparently it really wasn't.

"You wanna come inside until the storm lets up? Then I'll help you look for your friend, if you want." Jeff offered, making room for the Buizel. "I'm a fire type so if I go out into the rain, I'll probably get my fire put out. and we both know what that means for fire types." He shuddered at the thought of fire types dying by having their flames put out. In the real world, Jeff had a Charmeleon that had died because it didn't get into his house in time.

{Heh...that's actually nothing more than a misconception due to a single badly-worded Pokedex entry in Fire Red. xD A Charmander line's tail flame is nothing more than a sign of the health/strength of the Pokemon. The brighter the flame, the stronger/healthier the Pokemon is. When it dies, the flame goes out because of this. xP}
The Buizel simply shook his head at Jeff's offer. "S-sorry," he replied. "But not only does the rain make me stronger, but it makes me faster too. I-I'll be able find him faster if I search right now." However, he couldn't help but cock his head slightly at Jeff's next words. "H-heh...don't be silly," he replied with a small smile and laugh. "That doesn't apply to EVERY Fire-type. You don't even have an outer flame that even COULD get put out."
But then, the Buizel's expression seemed to darken slightly. "...B-Besides, this guy is definitely no friend of mine. And...I-I don't want to get anybody else involved if I can help it. Anyone who does just ends up getting hurt." The Buizel let out a small sigh before turning away from the tree's cavity again. It was quite clear that this Buizel was having a hard time with...something. But just what could that be...?

"Why did Justin tell me that all fire types would get put out if they went into the rain?" Jeff thought to himself. "Wait a minute. Maybe he just wanted to get me to not pick a fire type when I was in the real world...-" He then became enraged. "That son of a b****!" he said aloud, then before he knew it, fire burst out of his muzzle, burning the tree. His home was gone. "Well, that went well." Jeff said sarcastically. Now he stood where his tree used to be, in the pouring rain.

The Buizel cocked his head to the side slightly as he overheard as he overheard Jeff's silent ramblings. The next thing he knew, however, the tree was suddenly on fire! He let out a yelp of surprise and jumped back, away from the tree, eyes wide with surprise. What just happened? The Buizel looked down at the Vulpix again and watched as, eventually, he was now standing in a pile of ashes. It took him a moment to get himself together and he sighed. Great...now he was going to feel bad about leaving this Vulpix in the rain. Especially since that tree happened to be the only one around with a cavity like that.
The Buizel finally let out another sigh and decided to just come out and say it. "Well...I guess now I don't have much of a choice." He looked at Jeff and met his gaze. "...Do you want to come with me? I know the area around here, and I get stronger from the rain, so I can help you with that little problem while it lasts..."

"Sure. I'd like that." Jeff replied, smiling. "Justin, if I ever get back to the real world, I swear I'm gonna smack you upside the head!" He thought to himself. The boy he now hated had been his rival for a few years now, but was more along the lines of an amateur. Jeff was a pro so he had been a trainer for 6 years now. At least in the games. After all, Pokemon weren't real in real life.

The Buizel looked at Jeff curiously. Just what was a Vulpix doing out in the middle of a rainstorm in the first place anyway? Surely he must have realized the sure signs of a storm when the gray clouds began to gather together overhead. He smiled a little bit at the thought that the Vulpix had willingly gone out into the rain of his own accord.
"Alright then come on, let's go," the Buizel said at last. "I don't have all day. I AM supposed to be meeting somebody about now, remember?" With that, he turned around and started walking away. Now that he had a companion, he had to make sure he wasn't running as fast. So, he started to walk on his feet rather than on all-fours like usual. As he realized how much slower he was moving than usual, he decided to strike up a bit of conversation as he kept his eyes scanning the area for somebody who looked familiar. "So...what's your name anyway?" he finally decided to ask. It may be a good idea to determine this guy's name, at the very least.

Jeff looked at him. "Name's Jeffrey. You can call me Jeff." He replied. "Sounds kinda weird for a vulpix name, huh?" He chuckled. "What about you? What's your name?" He asked back.

The Buizel nodded a bit when Jeff told him his name. "I...I guess?" he responded. He turned his head from the Vulpix and couldn't help but think 'Huh...this guy's...kind of...weird....' in his mind. "My name?" he replied, glancing back at Jeff once more. "Oh, right.... See, my name's Maxwell. Er...Max for short, I guess. Nice to meet you, Jeff...I guess." he finished.
Suddenly, Max stopped and held his paw out to signal for Jeff to stop. He listened intently through the rain before quietly muttering, "Quick, somebody's coming. Get into those bushes over there...!" Immediately after saying this, he followed his own advice and jumped onto all fours and into a nearby group of shrubbery, suddenly disappearing from sight. If Jeff listened close enough with his Vulpix ears, he would be able to hear it too...the sound of what seemed like heavy footsteps and claws scraping against the ground.

Jeff nodded and followed him into the bushes. (Sorry for the one-lined reply, just woke up)

It wasn't long before the source of the sound came into view. A rather large Zangoose appeared in front of the bushes, no more than ten meters away. He looked left and right, as though he were looking for something. "Tch...where is that runt?" he grumbled in a low voice. "He'd better bring me that cash or he's dead meat." The Zangoose stood up to full height, revealing just how big he actually was. He was roughy two full meters in height! Nearly double Jeff and Max's height together!
Suddenly, Max's eyes widened in fear and he gulped, audible only to Jeff. "Th...that's him...." he muttered lowly enough so that only Jeff could hear, shrinking down slightly lower to the ground, shaking a bit. "H-he's who I'm supposed to meet, b-but..." He stared out at the Zangoose, unsure of what to do now. Could he really simply just walk out there...?
And so he trembled, hesitant to take a step outside of the bushes. Whoever this Zangoose was, it was quite obvious that Max was scared to death of him.
