Bob Sladfigy walked like speed of light back to his motorcycl and left behind the bad place behind him. Bob Sladfigy had to ride his motorcycle really fast back to the office but Bob Sladfigys gas ran out. Bob Sladfigy jumped fast off the motorcycle and landed on dead peoples hands.
"Buddy is now these hands... i must kill the next boss and live up to full-life consequences!" Bob Sladfigy said out loud.
Except none of this actually happened and Bob was just running around rambling like a delusional idiot.
Since arriving in the forest, Bob's thirst had gotten the better of him. It started out like an itch, nothing urgent but it would have been a relief to quench. Then it spread, like a wild rash, infecting the rest of his system and even his primitive brain. Now, the only thing Bob could think about is some warped semblance of the mission at hand... and liquids. He seemed to even ignore Buddy's presence entirely, thinking him to be the murdered one that they were avenging (and Creator help them if Bob wanted to remember who it originally was). The only thing that would revert him to normal at this point is some proper fluids or some kind of food, despite the fact that he had so much of just that on his person at the time.

Seeing the way that Bob was acting now, it was almost a shock that they had managed to get into the forest safely at all. Buddy knew that Bob was hallucinating at the moment, but he couldn't make heads or tails of the hallucination. There was something about hands, and about Buddy being those hands, which made no sense. Most Pokemon had paws, or stubs. Mention hands only made Buddy think of an Aipom. "Hey, Bob...what are you doing?!" Buddy yelled at him, but then sighed. Bob didn't really know that Buddy was there anymore. He didn't know that anyone else was there for that matter, and Buddy had to wonder if Bob knew they were in the forest right now. 'Oh...whatever.' That was enough contemplating about the crazy Zigzagoon.
No matter the time of day, Bug-types were always plentiful in the Aina Forest. Buddy could spot about three different species just by looking around. Caterpie were climbing up trees, minding their own business, except to stop and look at Bob every once in awhile. Combee seemed to be out today too. However, as long as there were flowers to buzz around, they couldn't care less about Bob's antics. The most ominous thing about the forests so far seemed to be the Kakuna hanging from trees. Buddy shuddered at the thought of them suddenly evolving into Beedrill. If Bob really wanted his Wingull friend to train, there were plenty opportunities around them. Not that Buddy was going to tell him. His plan was to keep his beak shut for as long as possible and avoid as much trouble from Bob as he could.
Yet there was no way they could confront the Bug-type criminals like this. Not with Bob jumping around in a delusional state. There was no way Buddy was going to take them on by himself. "BOB! WAKE UP!"Buddy squawked, scaring several of the nearby Pokemon away. This was getting to be ridiculous, so Buddy opted to wake Bob up in the best way he knew how. "TAKE THIS YOU MANIAC!" Buddy shot a Water Gun at Bob, hoping to snap him out of his illusion.

As always, Bob paid no attention to the Wingull's cries for attention. He kept walking around, muttering something about zombie goasts until he heard Buddy start to shout. He turned his head for a brief moment, only to see a large stream of water heading straight for his face. Time seemed to slow as the glorious liquid shined in the small streaks of sunlight glistening through the trees. It was like a ball of heaven granting salvation. Bob could not and would not dodge the wake-up call as it hit him square in the nose, sending him into a backflip and knocking him onto his stomach. He managed to catch a healthy mouthful of water, and he swallowed gratefully. Slowly, he began to return to his normal level of sanity - or what little Bob still had.
"Oh man..." Bob said, his eyes finally opened to the world once again. "Thanks, Buddy, I really needed that. Like, you have no idea." He stretched a bit as he stood on all fours again, taking in the scenery for what practically was the first time. The forest was beautiful, amplified by the innocence and purity that would otherwise be absent in a human-influenced world. Bug Pokemon buzzed around Bob as busy as nature could be. If only he wasn't on an important mission, he would be able to appreciate it more. But he was, and he had no more time to waste. "Come on, Buddy, let's go find those criminals and teach them the meaning of justice!"
...but he had nowhere to go. They could be anywhere in this forest. Bob stopped and thought. He would have to ask the locals if any of them had spotted them recently. He cleared his throat. "Excuse me," he politely addressed a nearby Bug-type Pokemon, "but would you happen to have seen a Masquerain and/or a Ninjask in this forest recently? It's kind of important." That hit of hydration really did the trick, it seemed - Bob was acting logically and proper now when he would've done something inappropriate or silly.

A small sweat drop formed on Buddy's head as he watched Bob tumble back from his Water Gun. Sure, he had just used an attack on Bob. But he really didn't think that it would be strong enough to send him on his stomach. He just wanted him to snap out of whatever delusion he happened to be in at the moment. '...I can do that? Maybe I would have a chance against the Ninjask...' He looked down, trying to imagine being able to fight that Ninjask and maybe even winning. It was too much to hope to be able to fight the Masquerain though. Those Pokemon weren't afraid of Water-type attacks, which were one of the few things Buddy had going for him.
"Yeah...sure." Buddy looked back up to see Bob. At least he didn't seem offended by the wake-up call. Bob seemed to be doing much better then before, actually. 'Hah! I'll never see him act this rational again.' His own mind was squawking in laughter before he was able to pull it back to reality. When he looked back over, he saw Bob asking for directions. Another rational thing he never thought he'd see Bob do. The only problem was that the Pokemon Bob was asking happened to be a Silcoon, who said nothing in response and proceeded to just stare at the two of them. Oh well. It was a good try on Bob's part.
Something purple and furry was crouched down behind the Silcoon, as though it was trying to hide. But when Bob had finished asking the Silcoon his question, it jumped up and landed between the two. "Oh, pick me! I've seen those two Pokemon!" The purple furry thing was a Venonat. She giggled as she looked back at the Silcoon. "This Pokemon's not going to answer you. She's too close to evolution to move, or even talk." Her antenna twitched as she looked back at Bob. "Your lucky my mom went to town today mister, or you wouldn't have the chance to talk to me at all! " She smiled brightly.

Bob waited patiently for an answer from the Silcoon. But even in this state, his patience could not survive for very long. Soon enough, he was crouching directly in front of the unmoving Pokemon's eye, poking cautiously at its body. It wasn't long before he forgot entirely why he was trying to get its attention in the first place, and he began making silly faces at it. It was then that he heard the Venonat's voice, jolting him back into the moment. "Oh! You have?" Bob perked, still looking at the Silcoon as if it was the one who was finally talking.
"What do you mean, I don't see any other Pokemon ar--..." He turned around and saw the Venonat. However, he assumed that Silcoon was talking about Venonat, and not vice versa. "That's funny, I didn't know Venonat were like that. But early congratulations from me!" he finished, smiling at the Venonat and then returning to the Silcoon. "So... what do you know?" Even in the moment that he examined the significantly more animated Venonat, he still couldn't quite grasp that she was the one who Bob was actually responding to. Which was a pity, considering he was really starting to like the Silcoon already. But at least he was making progress, and not completely out of it.

After Bob turned away from the Venonat and back to the Silcoon, Buddy flew over to him. "Bob? Bob. The Silcoon is close to evolving, not the Venonat." He turned to look at the purple Bug-type, who was just staring at Bob. "Hey, mister?" She poked Bob's back, but didn't really expect to get an answer. "Is he okay?" She asked Buddy. "..." Buddy just sighed, and probably would have buried his head in his wings if he could do so without falling to the ground. Everything was still going well...considering he had to deal with Bob. But how was he supposed to explain a Pokemon he hardly knew or understood to other Pokemon?
The Venonat jumped in front of Bob again. "Hey! It's not nice to ignore people mister! Didn't your mommy teach you any manners?" It was obvious by now that she was somewhat younger then Bob or Buddy. "If you're rude to other Pokemon they won't like you, and if you're not careful you might get some ouchies from them!" She went on, sincerely believing that he was going to listen to her. "Hey, uh...what's your name, anyhow?" Buddy asked, figuring that someone should get some information out of the Venonat. Bob wasn't going to do it, apparently. "It's nice to meet you. My name is-" His introduction was cut short by the Venonat shushing him.
"Wait!" She was staring at Bob with a very serious expression. "I won't tell you anything mister. Unless you look at me and introduce yourself." She huffed at Bob, antenna twitching again. "So, what is your name mister?"

"Shush!" Bob shouted when Buddy tried to correct him. "I'm trying to get information out of this Pokemon..." He cocked his head at the "Silcoon"'s next line, waiting for her to follow up on the statement, and completely ignoring the poke on the back shrugging it off as Buddy or something unimportant. But when the Venonat jumped between Bob and the Silcoon, and heard the same voice coming from the Venonat that he assumed was the Silcoon's, Bob gasped, mildly startled.
"Whoa..." he said in awe, before leaning around the Venonat to continue speaking to Silcoon. "You're a ventriloquist? And a puppeteer? That is incredible! We could definitely use your skills on this hunt! Would you like to join us? Your dummy can come too!" He looked at the Venonat as he added the last bit, wondering just how the Silcoon made it so realistic-looking. "I'm Bob, by the way," he introduced, "and this is my 'dummy', so to speak, Buddy." He indicated back at his Wingull companion. "I can't make him sound like me or make him move, though. He's a real Pokemon. But man that would be awesome!"

The Venonat, and of course the Silcoon, both stayed stubbornly still. There was definitely something wrong with this Zigzagoon. Venonat looked over at Buddy before returning her gaze to Bob. Maybe her mom was onto something when she said not to talk to strangers. The Wingull seemed nice enough, but nothing more. He couldn't even help her with the Pokemon he was apparently traveling with. As a result, her brain started to search for answers about the Zigzagoon and Wingull's behavior. 'Wait a minute...duh!' Her brain came up with two answers and she giggled at both of them.
"I am so sorry mister! I understand now." The Venonat giggled. Buddy was getting confused at this point. "You do?" He asked, not being able to believe she could understand the situation so quickly. "Yeah!" Venonat smiled to turned to Buddy. "Your friend is a "special" Pokemon, isn't he?" She asked. Buddy wasn't quite sure how to take that. He didn't really know what she meant by "special". Was it a good or bad thing? "Special?" He simply asked. Venonat nodded as vigorously as she could. "Yeah mister! You know. Pokemon with...with "special needs". My mommy says you should always be nice to Pokemon like that! Because it's not their fault and stuff."
Although Venonat was proud of her answer, Buddy was nearly devastated. '...She thinks, she thinks...' The thought never occurred to Buddy but the more he thought about it, the less surprised he was that a Pokemon as young as her came up with such an answer. "No!" Buddy squawked, causing the Venonat to try and cover her ears. "That's not...he's not...no." Was all he could really choke out. Venonat tilted her head to the side. "Oh, sorry!" She giggled. "Then I guess he's just senile, right? I mean, he looks kinda old. Like at least over twenty!" At her age, anyone over twenty still seemed old to her.

Bob waited for a response, maintaining his expression of excitement and wonder. The Silcoon said and did nothing. Bob wondered if this was part of another trick. His acquaintance so far seemed to be capable of all kinds of sorcery, and there was no telling what she would do next... but it turned out that she was just thinking. Bob looked back and forth between the Venonat and Buddy as they conversed about Bob being "special". This made him feel a bit surprisingly flattered. And apparently he had "special needs". "You mean like... the need for vengeance?" tried Bob, sort of unsure where all of this was coming from.
Buddy's denial confused him even more. Was Buddy claiming that he wasn't all that special? Could he perhaps be... jealous?? Bob would have been quick to point out this possibility, but suddenly the Silcoon's puppet changed her mind, calling Bob "senile". Unlike the other word, this was one he never quite understood, but apparently it was a condition that afflicted those over the age of 20. Bob did a few hasty calculations in his head, and his eyes widened. "Wait a minute..." he sorrowed, "I'm 19... and my birthday is coming up... oh man, what if I'm on the verge?" Bob started to panic. Was he in any condition to hunt outlaws? He could very well be senile already! He crouched into a tight ball of paranoia. The fact that he had no idea what might be ailing him only made it worse. So much for being focused and competent...

Venonat looked over at Bob with a frown. "My daddy said that vengeance is a selfish need. Pokemon as old as you should really know better. " She scolded Bob as if it was going to do anything. Wingull just sighed. 'He's losing his concentration because of this Venonat!' He didn't feel right about blaming a little kid, but if they hadn't run into her, then they might have been half way to the outlaws hideout by now. "I guess you don't know any better, huh mister? Being senile must be tough..." The Venonat was patting Bob on the back now in an attempt to comfort him. "It's okay. Mommy said that they have nice homes for old Pokemon like you. That's where we sent grandma." She giggled.
A small anime sweatdrop was forming on Buddy's head now. He also didn't care for the fact that the little girl was convinced Bob was senile. Bob wasn't a very old Pokemon; that was one of the few things that he knew about him. Deep down inside, although Buddy didn't want to admit it, she was more accurate when she guessed that he was a "special" Pokemon. 'He isn't. I think. I know he acts kinda like it sometimes...' Buddy just sighed. It really didn't matter if Bob had a condition or not. He was stuck with him and they had criminals to catch. "Hey, we're on a very dangerous mission right now..." He started.
Once again, he was interrupted by Venonat. "A dangerous mission?! That sounds fun! Can I come, can I come?! Please? Please, please, please with sugar and cherries on top?" She pleaded mostly to Bob, thinking that he would be the easiest to convince.

Bob's shaking slowly subsided, as the Venonat's comforting words got to him. She reminded him of the whole reason they were out here to begin with - to take down some dangerous criminals, avenge a Feraligatr's death, and inherit that sweet house of his! But mostly the first two. If he was determined enough, he could fight through this illness and show the world that senility was not a handicap! It is a new beginning, and a senile person could accomplish great things just like the rest of the world! Bob stood up, confident that he was no different physically or mentally than he was ten minutes ago, and that he could so totally do this.
Bob looked over at Venonat as she asked to come along. Had Bob been paying any kind of attention, he would know from previous statements that the Venonat had parents to worry about, and that her parents would probably worry about her. But even if Bob had known this fact, it would be rather unlikely that he would care. "Of course you can come with us!" chimed Bob, before Buddy had the chance to say anything. "The more the merrier, and we could definitely use someone familiar with the forest. Welcome to the team!" He seemed to forget completely that the Venonat was supposed to be a puppet of the ventriloquist Silcoon, according to his previous logic, probably because of the senile scare. But it was probably for the best. "So... where are we headed first?" Bob surveyed the forest once again in search of his first lead.

"Yes! Yes!" Venonat cheered and started jumping up and down. Bob's agreement to let her join in the adventure made her completely forget being mad about his earlier rudeness. "Hi Bob, hi Buddy! My name is Subaru! Subaru Matsu, to be exact." The huge smile that was on her face suggested that she really loved her name. For some reason, Buddy didn't feel the same way. 'That name just sounds...silly." He shook his head. Saying something about it now would probably just make life harder for him. Besides, Subaru wasn't the only Pokemon who had a silly name. 'After that Goldeen named Goldie Fish, I...yeah, Subaru's name doesn't matter.'
Subaru stopped jumping and Buddy's train of thought halted when Bob asked where they should go first. "Oh! Pick me, pick me!" She was standing up on tip-toe now, trying to raise one of her hands, which really didn't work very well for Venonat. But Buddy took pity on her and pointed at her. "Yay! Okay, okay, um...my mommy said that a pair of strange Pokemon moved into the forest two weeks ago. They live in a really, really super deep part of the forest. I guess as long as we keep going straight, we'll end up in the deep part of the forest, right?" Venonat tilted her head to the side. She had never been to the deepest part of the forest, but getting there seemed simple enough.
Buddy dropped down and landed on the ground to give his wings a quick rest. "You are talking about the Masquerain and Ninjask, right?" He asked nervously. Subaru laughed. "Of course I am! Why do you think I said "creepy"?!" Buddy wasn't sure what that meant. Did other Bug-types find Masquerain and Ninjask to be creepy? He almost felt sorry for them.

Bob was glad to have such an enthusiastic and spunky member on the team. Now he finally wouldn't feel alone when he overreacted about stuff. And Buddy would just have to deal with it. Bob suddenly found himself wishing for his shades again, but that desire didn't last long as he knew he should pay attention to the Venonat with the strange name. Not quite as strange as Sladfigy, but it was certainly up there. Subaru spoke of a couple of Pokemon moving into the forest recently and settling deep into it. That certainly sounded like their suspects!
"Perfect!" said Bob as Subaru laid out their path for them. At this rate, she would replace Buddy as his bestest friend in a heartbeat! "Then we have no more time to waste. Let's go go go!" Bob practically yelled, charging forward like a war horse. But his rush was cut short as he abruptly tripped over a large stationary object and slammed into the ground snout-first. "Ow..." groaned Bob, caressing his nose, "Watch where you're going..." He looked back and discovered that the object he tripped over was the Silcoon that had completely slipped his mind. Something looked familiar about that Pokemon... Bob narrowed his eyes at it, then employed an 'I'm watching you' gesture and continued onward, none the wiser.

The poor Silcoon that Bob tripped over didn't do or say anything in response to what had happened. "Hahaha! Silly Bob! You should always look where you're going, or you'll trip over a rock and end up with a big ouchie!" Subaru giggled and started to skip after him. Buddy got up and flew after them reluctantly. They were on the move again, so that was good. But Buddy couldn't tell if having Subaru in the party would be a good thing or not. She was energetic enough, but maybe too energetic. Sure, she could be able to keep up with Bob, but would Bob be able to keep up with her? Buddy was beginning to think that she would turn into a distraction.
"I wonder how long we'll have to walk!" Subaru said, still skipping. It was a nice day in the forest, perfect for adventures like these. 'I must be the luckiest Venonat in the world! I get to go on an adventure. And the weather won't mess up my fur at all!' She smiled at her thoughts, completely forgetting about how long the "adventure" might take. In her mind, she figured the walk couldn't last more then ten minutes. "Hey Bob, Buddy? Have you guys ever battled before? Are you going to battle Masquerain and Ninjask?" She asked. Buddy frowned a little. He had never been the type of Pokemon that enjoyed battling often. How did she catch on to that so quickly? "...I've been in one or two..." He mumbled, feeling like she was going to laugh at him.
However, Subaru didn't say anything. In fact, she had stopped walking and started to look around. Buddy stopped too and hovered in place. "Hey, guys? Do you hear that?" Her antenna started twitching as she turned to face another direction. "I don't hear anything." Buddy said, also looking around. The ground below Subaru and Bob started to shake slightly. Since Buddy was still in the air, he couldn't feel the tremors. "Is...something below us?" Subaru gasped and looked down at the ground. The tremors were slowly getting stronger.

Bob thought about shooting a mean look at Subaru, but decided against it. Instead, he looked back at her and shot a grin instead. It ended up being a sort of awkward wide-eyed one, and Bob cut it short in favor of focusing on the road ahead. She was certainly an eccentric tyke; she reminded Bob of himself when he was a kid. Not that Bob ever stopped feeling like one. He could tell there was much bickering and lallygagging to be had yet.
Bob began to think about lollipops, completely distracted once again for a good while. The word 'battle' quickly snapped him out of the moment, as the only thing more important than food in his mind was battling. "Have I been in a battle before?" Bob repeated sarcastically. "Of course I have! I was the champion back where I come from. I've probably been in more battles than every Pokemon in this forest combined! Those criminals are as good as toast! Literally, I could smear butter on 'em and have 'em for breakfast! Except they're bugs so that would be kinda gross."
Bob continued rambling until he felt the ground shake a little. At first, he thought it was his stomach rumbling again, but then he noticed that the others had stopped because of it. He too stopped walking and listened closely. He couldn't hear anything, but after a while the ground shook again. "Whoa..." Bob quivered, looking down at the ground. "An earthquake?" he guessed. "Or a burrowing Pokemon...?" Bob assumed a battle-ready stance. "Be ready, you guys, we could be in for a fight." Or perhaps Bob was overreacting and he was just anxious to scratch that itch for battle. He'd probably pick a fight with a tree at this rate...

It was beginning to look like one of Bob's guesses would actually end up being correct. The ground under Subaru started to open up. "AHHHH! Earthquake!" She shrieked, jumping back and quickly assuming that Bob was right. However, the shaking stopped completely after a fairly small hole was made where Subaru used to stand. A noise was coming from the hole and this time it sounded like a tunneling Pokemon. Buddy eyed the hole cautiously and started to sweat a little. "I can hear something now..." He said, voice shaking. There were also two voices coming from the hole, though it was impossible to know what they were saying due to the tunneling noise that was also going on.
As it turned out, Bob's second guess was the correct one. "Don't go any further!" Was the first clear thing that one of the voices said. A Bonsly jumped out of the hole soon after, with a Diglett following him. "Thanks for the digging, Diglett! I got here just in time. Are you going to stick around for the battle?" Bonsly asked. Diglett just shrugged and looked over at Bob. Fighting a Zigzagoon and Venonat didn't seem too hard, but the Wingull could end up being a pain. "Cool!" The Bonsly seemed to think that was a yes and turned to face Bob's group. "I'm here to stop you! Don't go any further, or else." He announced.
Although the Bonsly didn't exactly look all that intimidating, Buddy was still getting nervous. All this time he was hoping they could avoid getting into a battle until they found the criminals. It would be depressing if they got beaten before they got there. Subaru, on the other hand, was overjoyed. "Oh boy, oh boy! I never get to battle!" She started to jump up and down again. The only battles she had been in were practice ones against her friends and parents. She had plenty of energy, but very little experience.

Bob watched the hole form under Subaru's feet as she jumped out of the way. A hole of that size certainly wasn't natural, and it wasn't long before his suspicions were confirmed: a Diglett had made this hole. And it brought with it a Bonsly. And apparently these two were working against Bob and his company. Perhaps they were mooks of the Ninjask and Masquerain. That seemed like the most likely explanation, but they didn't exactly look cut out for that kind of criminal work.
Bob laughed. "Ha! Did you hear that guys?" he guffawed, "This paperweight wants to slow us down! What are you going to do, sit on us? I outta load you into a cannon and blast you at some pirates!" The laughs continued. "C'mon guys, let's just get a move on and let this tyke be a bump on a log. We have bigger fish... er, bugs to fry." Bob walked right past the Bonsly and continued walking. Though he had to admit that he was looking forward to a battle. Even an easy one such as this was shaping up to be. He figured that his put-downs were enough to rile the Bonsly into attacking if it wasn't already planning on it.

"...Awww! But! But!" Subaru was disappointed that Bob just ignored a potentially fun event, but could really think of a counter argument. "...You're no fun Bob!" She pouted, but started to walk after him anyway. Buddy looked and acted like he wasn't very good at battling. If that really was the case, she didn't want to get stick with him as her only battle partner. 'I hope Buddy follows, or he's gonna get hurty-werty.' She thought after looking back. Buddy was still hovering, trying to decide if he should listen to Bob or not. 'Can we get out of this battle?' That thought was too good to be true, but if he didn't follow after Bob and Subaru, he would be left behind with an angry Pokemon or two.
Buddy made his decision and started to fly after them. A few seconds after making the decision, however, proved that it was the wrong one for him to make. "Don't ignore me!" The Bonsly yelled and hurled at rock at Buddy. "WHAT? I KNEW IT!" Buddy squawked and turned around just in time to see the rock hit him in the head. He fell out of the air and onto the ground, apparently dizzy. Subaru turned around. "Oh no! Bob, they gave Buddy a boo-boo!" In the back of her mind Subaru thought that she would have been able to take the rock better then Buddy did. At least he wasn't crying or anything, but he also wasn't getting up.
"That'll teach 'em, right Diglett?" Bonsly's companion didn't say anything. He really didn't care that Bob didn't want to deal with them. That would have actually made life a lot easier for him. But he knew that this would bug Bonsly; he was going to be dragged into this battle one way or another.

Bob was prepared to just walk away from the encounter, without a second thought. Which would not have been true to begin with, because Bob was always looking for excuses to beat up more Pokemon, possibly get his reputation as a ruthless and undefeated warrior spread around this world. The more the merrier. And he certainly wouldn't be able to clear his mind of this if it were a missed opportunity. But it appeared as though this would not be the case, as before long the Bonsly clocked Buddy with a stone, drawn in by Bob's actions hook, line, and sinker.
Bob turned around and glared evilly at the Bonsly. "You shouldn't have done that..." Bob droned in a menacing voice which he had had loads of practice with in front of a mirror in his bathroom. It was time for battle! Bob took a few moments to quickly think up how to start things on their end. It was more or less a 3-on-1, so this shouldn't take long. "Subaru!" ordered Bob, "Weigh him down with Poisonpowder! Buddy, use Water Pulse! He's a Bonsly, so he can take a few hits; we gotta layer negative conditions to keep piling on the damage!" As he issued his commands, Bob kicked up a flurry of sand in the Bonsly's face. If all goes well, the Bonsly would end up poisoned, confused, and somewhat blinded all at the same time. Worst case scenario, neither of his partners would listen to his strategy. Which would be absurd, because Bob's strategies are simply the best there is and anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.

Both sides seemed to be confused by Bob's outburst. Why was he telling his friends what attacks to use? That didn't make any sense. Buddy stood up, but he was still dazed and couldn't remember if he had an attack called Water Pulse. Subaru looked from the Bonsly, to Bob and then back. She was always told that she had to think for herself in battle, whether she was alone in battle or not. If she was with a partner, she'd learn their fighting style and be able to adapt her own eventually. Or at least, that's what school had taught her. Should she listen to Bob's command and try a Poisonpowder attack?
"Ooh! I never use that attack. Umm..." Subaru walked forward a bit and tried to aim her attack. Bonsly was looking at her with a bored expression. He was bad at battling, but not this bad. It looked like his targets were going to be easier to take down than he had first thought. "Here it comes!" Subaru jumped up and launched a flurry of sparkly purple powder. Unfortunately, the Poisonpowder missed the Bonsly completely and just flew off to the side of him. Subaru saw this when she landed and couldn't help but giggle. "Opps. It missed. Completely." She laughed. This battle wasn't going according to plan.
The only thing that Bonsly really had to watch out for was the Sand Attack that Bob was trying to kick into his face. He jumped back from the sand and watched it settle down, not impressed. "Wow, pathetic." It was his turn to talk down to them. "What was that about launching me out of a cannon? Yeah, I think I'll be taking your most "useful" friend, Wingull, and use him as MY cannon fodder." With that, Bonsly actually used an attack this time. "Now be careful, this rock is better then the last." He used Rock Throw and hurled a rock at Bob.
